  • Morrow looked up at Naga curiously as he remained quiet, shifting his weight awkwardly as he used the blankets to cover himself as his legs folded. He met Naga's gaze calmly with a tilt of his head, wondering what he was thinking, only for his eyebrows to rise slightly as Naga leaned in slowly but suddenly. A soft noise of surprise left Morrow as their lips met, his eyes closing as a spark of delight rushed through him and he clutched the blankets around them. He could tell it was sincere, which shocked him a little, but he leaned into the sweet kiss, relaxing entirely as he kissed Naga back.

  • Naga relaxed briefly as soon as Morrow had kissed him back. However, as the kiss continued he froze. What am I doing?! Panic seized him as he quickly pulled away, getting up and backing away quickly from Morrow, hastily apologizing, "I-I'm sorry." Before any other words could be said, Naga quickly left and closed the door immediately behind him, his hand covering his mouth as his eyes were wide. What... why did he? No.. this was completely inappropriate.. this should've never happened.. What was he thinking?

  • Morrow could feel Naga relaxing into the kiss until a moment later, he felt him freeze and rip away, cheeks flaring a deep red as Naga apologized. "Naga-" He was cut short by Naga leaving, feeling utterly embarrassed as he rubbed his cheeks. He touched his lips, knowing that somewhere deep inside Naga, he truly did still love humans. He sighed heavily as he rested his chin on his knees, gazing out the window. "What am I supposed to do, Kage? " He whispered quietly, his heart pounding in his chest as he sat there. Maybe a walk would do him some good. Morrow sighed again and got to his feet, pulling his pants and shirt back on, sensing Naga's presence just outside the door still. The window was big enough and wide enough for his skinny frame to get out, so out he went after opening it, dropping to his feet neatly. Morrow glanced back at the shrine before walking down the trail, realizing the amulet was in his jacket pocket.

  • Naga took in a deep breath and exhaled, shaking his head as he quickly straightened up and decided he'd might as well go ahead and read the book Morrow wanted him to read. Anything to keep his mind off of... His face brightened into a dark red as he put his hands to his face, absolutely mortified, "I... can't believe I did that.." Quickly he moved away and grabbed the book, moving to his room and opened it, blocking Morrow out completely... it wasn't really a shocker though, he was in shock right now at his actions.

The amulet shuddered slightly and a quiet voice said, "He's scared." Kage was suddenly right beside Morrow, the man was still smiling as usual. It seemed as if somehow Morrow had summoned Kage's spiritual energy to his side and the spirit was accompanying him for the moment.

  • Morrow sighed as he walked along the trail, pressing his lips together as he felt Naga shut him out but wasn't surprised. He felt a bit lonelier now, but he didn't complain. He jumped a little when he heard Kage's voice, turning his head a little to look at him. "Scared of loving again? Or getting his memories back? Kage.. I.. I felt something dark within him. The parasite is taking hold again. He was in pain. " Morrow said hurriedly, blurting out his thoughts to the spirit. He was safe in these woods, and he felt safe within Kage's presence. If anything were to happen to him, Naga would be there. But what would happen if he wasn't? Morrow shook his head, lightly touching the amulet with a shudder.

  • Naga's gaze skimmed over the pages of the book, reading over them carefully. It was all trivial information.. however he froze as soon as he got to Kage's notes. He slowly began to read over them and immediately he was seized by a splitting headache. He.. almost couldn't breathe. He felt as if something that was blocking his mind had shattered and almost automatically he felt... experienced every single memory he had lost.. every single moment.. second.. His hands gripped the side of his head, his teeth bared in a silent snarl of agony as inky black markings began to spread over his skin. He collasped on his side, his form shifted into the tiny fox as his body twitched and convulsed, his eyes rolling back as his paws weakly struggled to hold unto the floor. He was panting and heaving... ..Help... me... Eventually his thrashing grew weaker as the memories flooded over him over and over... he eventually curled up into a tight ball, the black markings seeming to pulse on his body as his mouth was parted open, blood trickling from the fox's maw, ...Why.. did they... do this... hu..mans.. He closed his eyes slowly, struggling to bring breath into his lungs, ...Yuji... Morrow... help.. me... The fox's body went still, however he was still breathing yet.. it seemed as if his old wounds from all those years before had showed up upon his body, his stomach, ears, eyes, arms... legs... were slowly oozing blood, yet it wasn't profusely.. it was disturbing to say the least. Lila was wandering through however, as soon as she saw the fox on the ground a terrified cry escaped her as she rushed over, "N-Naga? Naga, can you hear me?! Naga!" The fox.. didn't answer. He could hear her.. but he couldn't speak.

Kage looked over at Morrow, his kind gaze never faltering, "He's afraid of falling in love with you. He doesn't know why he's reacting the way he is.. after all he doesn't remember Yuji, and how could he be afraid of something he doesn't remember?" The spirit continued as he looked forward, continuing down the path, "..There's still something in him that feels an overwhelming loyalty to Yuji, even after many years.. he still loves him, and subconsciously he's still holding unto him while trying to understand the feelings he has for you... he just needs time Morrow." However, it seemed as if Kage's gaze grew saddened as soon as Morrow mentioned the parasite, "...You've read that the parasite feeds off of fear, panic, and sorrow.. it thrives off of it.. not just feeding off of Naga.. it leeches off of others as well if it can get the opportunity.. Naga's life... is slowly coming to an end.. there's.. nothing more I can do myself.. I've left this world long ago and my powers that remain here barely even is enough to keep the parasite at bay.." Kage closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath and exhaling, "..Its nothing you or anyone can control... Naga.. I hope will keep enough willpower to-" Kage broke off, his eyes widening briefly as he stopped then his form seemed to blurr and then shatter the spiritual energy disappearing quickly. It was clear... something was very, very wrong. The amulet had seemed to warm until it was a vibrant heat and the surface began to crack and splinter within Morrow's pocket.

  • Morrow bit his bottom lip as he stopped to face Kage, one hand curled around the amulet now as he listened to him talk. He began to understand why Naga shied away from his touch, hearing that he still felt loyalty towards Yuji despite the human being dead now for centuries. And Naga had been suffering without even knowing it. He frowned deeply at hearing that there was nothing that they could do to help Naga, his gut twisting with worry. He let go of the amulet to push his hair out of his face, breath catching as he felt sudden pain and panic rush through him. "What the... Kage, wait! " Morrow cried out as the spirit shattered, panicking at the feel of heat growing in his pocket and fished it out, yelping as it shattered in his hand, tossing it away quickly and ran back as fast as he could to the shrine. "Stay with me, Naga.. Don't you dare give up. Morrow sent out to the fox, taking the pain as much as he could as he ran back. His heart pounded in his chest and his feet launched over the ground, catching on a root and sending him smacking into a tree but he just picked himself up and burst through the shrine doors. Bright orange energy burned off of him, eyes wild as he rushed to find Naga.

"Naga! " Morrow cried out as he followed the source of pain, cut and bruised from the tumble with a shard of the stone from the amulet stuck in his palm but he paid no attention to it. "Naga, where-" He cut himself off as he saw his aunt crouched beside the fox, immediately pushing her out of the way gently. "No... No no no. You aren't going anywhere. You've lived for too long and done too much to go, Naga. " Morrow said sternly as he scooped the fox up into his arms, the bright orange energy growing stronger and stronger as his emotions went out of control as he touched Naga. Yet he didn't know what to do. He bit his bottom lip and placed one hand on the inky black marks, hissing as it burned his palm but stubbornly stayed there, brow furrowing as he attempted to take the parasite out. Anything. Anything he could do for Naga. "Stay with me. " Morrow growled.

  • The fox's head rolled back limply as choked sounds came out from him, his eyes seemed unfocused and Morrow's spiritual energy seemed to only agitate the parasite as an unnatural screech resounded through the air. Naga's body twitched and shuddered, wheezing and crying out in pain, "Yu...ji... Morrow.. please.." Then it seemed as if the fox's body was yanked away from Morrow and slammed to the floor abruptly, a sickening crack resounded through the air as a the chilling screech turned to laughter as the fox lay there limply, shudders going through him as the dark marks receeded a little... it seemed as if the parasite had backed off for now, but.. was it just toying with Morrow at this point? Who knew.. but at the moment, Naga was laying eerily still, the only signal he was alive was the ragged, barely consistent rise and fall of his sides. Lila had covered her mouth, her eyes were wide of horror.. she couldn't even say anything, however she quickly rushed off, immediately looking for bandages.

  • Morrow's eyes widened at the screech, scrambling to catch Naga as he was ripped away from him and his breath caught as he heard the crack, causing him to wince. "I'm trying, Naga. " Morrow's voice broke as he scooted back over to the fox, running one burning orange hand over the wounds to close them, unaware of doing so and was uncertain of how he was doing it once he realized he was. He didn't feel hope when he saw the marks receding, only became more worried. Yet he kept something in mind. The parasite had hated his energy more than anything. He forced himself to make a spiritual fox to burn off the energy, watching as it began to pace around him. "Naga. I'm so sorry.. " Morrow whispered as he stroked the foxs fur, knowing it was his fault for all of this. He had told Naga to read the book, and look where it lead him. It made his gut twist and heart break to see Naga like this, barely aware of the pulsing pain in his hand.

  • The fox didn't react, his eyes were void... empty, as if any sign of life had been sucked away. However he managed to say very quietly, "..Thank..you.." He struggled to breath and yet it seemed as if it was becoming harder for him the more as time passed on. His body was becoming cold.. yet his breathing never stopped though so at least that was a good sign for now. However he coughed, blood dripping from his mouth unto the floor as he curled up tightly as if trying to protect himself from harm. The parasite's dark markings had stubbornly remained upon his back its quiet hisses barely even there but it was still causing pain to Naga. A quiet voice murmured, "Bring him to a bed... keep watch over him..." However it was so faint, this was no other than Kage. His spiritual body didn't show up though it appeared as if when the amulet shattered it contained majority of Kage's remaining power. The shard that was in Morrow's hand had seemed as if it had fallen out on its own then.. disappeared, and just as this happened Lila came in with an armload of bandages, though she froze in startled shock as soon as she saw Morrow and the orange energy around him.

  • Morrow let out a soft sigh of relief as Naga spoke, feeling worn out from healing Naga's wounds slowly, as best as he could but they would be sensitive for a while. "I won't forget up on you. " Morrow said bitterly to the dark markings, making it known that he was not going to stop at anything to get that parasite out of Naga. He closed his eyes as he heard Kage's faint voice, knowing that his energy had been in the amulet and he would most likely be on his own for now. At least until Kage's energy ran out. He scooped Naga up into his arms very gently, again careful not to touch his ears and tail as he gazed down at him. The orange energy flickered out, as well as his fox when he saw his aunt walk back in. "Don't ask. Please. This isn't the time. " He said as he brushed past her to go to his own room, placing Naga on his bed and quickly covered him in the sheets and blankets and closed the window. He pulled up a chair, taking a seat as he watched over the fox with intense worry pouring off of him as he sat there.

  • Naga was unresponsive, his limp body just merely laying there. However it seemed as if he had managed in his unconscious state to shift to his human-like form. He truthfully looked as if he had been weakened, he was breathing heavily his eyes closed, eyelid flickering restlessly. Hours passed and his condition still didn't change, he occasionally groans escaped him and he looked as if he was in pain, sweat beading his forehead as he restlessly moved from side to side, his limbs moving about, eventually he fell still again, his facial expression one of complete agony, the parasite worming its way towards his neck as if it was trying to take the opportunity to spread. The suddenly Naga began to tear at his arms, his talons sinking into his own flesh as the demon parasite seemed to writhe about his arms as if trying to not be attacked by the fox's nails, however as a result he was hurting his own self which only resulted in hisses of pain coming from him.

  • Morrow had taken the bandages and shut the door on his aunt, leaving the two in dead silence except for Naga's harsh breathing and Morrow's worried, softer breaths. He took a cloth and was gently dabbing away the sweat, brow furrowed as he fought away the aggravating pain he felt in his back. Now was not the time to focus on himself. "Naga! Stop it! " Morrow jumped to his feet as Naga began to tear at his arms, grasping his wrists and strained to stop him as he felt the talons digging into his own arm but he didn't care. Energy surged from him again, wrapping around the ripped flesh of Naga's arm and seemed to be searching for the parasite as he healed him, holding him down. "Don't you fight against me. " Morrow growled, his grip tight on Naga as he healed him, muscles trembling yet his rusty eyes were stubborn and determined.

  • Naga released him after a few moments though growls ripped throughout his body. The parasite seemed to let out irritable hisses seeming to fight against Morrow's spiritual energy, the markings on Naga's skin getting darker and stronger, however it seemed as if it was repelled back a little as soon as a bit of Kage's spiritual energy seemed to be assisting Morrow, pushing the parasite back as it quickly retreated, its hisses quieting until it seemed to only be a faint sound.

  • Morrow hissed softly as Naga released his grip, frowning deeply as he focused entirely on the parasite now. He could feel Kage's faint but warm presence in helping him repel the parasite, nearly collapsing as soon as it did. He wasn't strong enough to defeat it. He grabbed the bandages numbly, wrapping his own arm before it bled too much and then wiped the blood off of Naga's healed arm. He was drained and worn out yet he fought against sleep, hesitantly taking Naga's hand and sent out comforting thoughts to him while he sat down beside him.

  • The soft voice echoed, "It will overpower you if you continue... I will watch him... he will be safe.. rest.. your body won't be able to handle the strain much longer..." Naga had seemed to ease into a slightly less disturbed. Kage's spiritual presence, although a lot less potent had filled the room.

  • "I'm just worried.. He won't fight.. " Morrow whimpered as he laid his head down, not letting go of Naga's hand as he tucked his injured arm to his chest. His eyes seemed to fight the sleep, but then gave up, falling into a deep, nightmare less sleep.

  • By the next morning, Naga was awake, staring up blankly at the ceiling. He... could barely move his limbs. However, he turned his head as he wanted to speak.. but he couldn't. He felt as if his mouth was shut tight.. he couldn't do anything. He slowly closed his eyes and a quiet sound escaped him, he... couldn't really see anything around him either, but he knew Morrow was near. I'm.. sorry.. I.. made... you worried again... did...I..? However he was only seized with overwhelming pain the more he tried to will himself to move... he could feel the parasite moving through his veins... it hurt badly. However, it seemed to be in the same spot and didn't progress. Someone or something was keeping it from spreading. ...Kage..?

  • Morrow had slept deeply throughout the night but woke early in the morning, barely feeling an itch of hunger yet he saw two plates next to the door, which was slightly ajar. He turned, legs trembling as he picked up the plates and sat down, picking at the food until he found his hunger and finished the plate off hungrily. "Naga... Don't try to do anything. I just need you to rest, but... I need you to fight internally. You can't be afraid of this thing. " Morrow whispered as he saw Naga's eyes were open, hearing his thought and again sent a warm, comforting emotion to him. "I'm trying.. " His voice cracked and his eyes closed, unable to believe how emotional he was over Naga, but he had a strong feeling it was because he was his familiar. "I'm trying my best. I don't know what to do, Naga.. " Morrow said as he cleared his throat, gazing up at him.

  • Naga's eyes slowly shifted towards Morrow, feeling the warm emotions he had sent over, however he felt Morrow's turbulent emotions as well. It mostly took a lot of struggle, however a strained smile crossed his face, "...I know... thank you.." The smile faded however, his eyes slowly closing, "...Don't.. worry... I..won't leave you alone.." However it seemed as if Naga was sending his thoughts towards Morrow at this point, his unresponsive body easing into what seemed to be a sleep, however he was alert.
