she watched him leave, the tiny she-cat's heart fluttering a bit. 'that was kind.' she thought to herself, as she watched him clean himself for a moment, partially in shock. 'i mean, he's still an arrogant pr*ck, but i really didn't see that coming. he's okay in my book.' she decided, before looking back towards the fresh-kill pile. she crept over there, still hoping no one would see her, despite being given permission by a high elite. she had been conditioned to think that way, and nothing would change it. she reached the squirrel, really a massive thing, compared to her anyway, and glanced around one more time to make sure no one was watching.

Minnow let out a high-pitched yawn as she flicked her eyes awake, her white and silver-marked pelt ruffled from a night's sleep. Giving it a small shake, the tiny she-cat hopped out of her lonely nest in the nursery and into the clearing. She scanned it, her blue gaze flicking from cat to cat as she studied the movements of her Tribemates.

Ash woke with a slow start. He had just had a nightmare about Leaf again. He let out a soft moan, his ash-grey fur untidy and matted. Not bothering to try and clean up his appearance, the grieving tom dragged himself out of his nest and into the frosty clearing.

Birch too got up slowly, but only because she didn't want to get out of her warm nest to go and train. Getting to her cream-colored paws, the Trainee headed out into the clearing, shivering as the cool air touched her ragdoll pelt. Fluffing out her fur, the under-sized apprentice sat down, waiting to be given order.

Eagle was awake quick as a rabbit. Jumping to his paws and giving his dark brown and tan pelt a quick grooming, he trotted into the clearing, his bright blue eyes shining. He flicked his soft-furred tail, taking in a deep breath of the crisp, leaf-bare air.

"Y'know. Cats see you sneaking around and they might get suspicious." A soft, feminine voice spoke behind her. Owned by a small smokey angora. Licking a paw. Her name was Curse. One of the high elites. She chuckled and set her paw down. She was very well known around the tribe for treating others kindly. "Quite the mouthful there huh?" She gave a closed eyed smile and flicked her tail. "So... You talked to Bird... He wasn't rude was he? I apologize if he was. He just doesn't like other cats very much..." She had no idea that Bird was the one who offered the squirrel, and that he had been nice to her. She had just assumed he had been mean and judgmental, per usual.

The tom sighed and stood up again. Exiting the camp and padding through the timber towards the drinking place (Stream river ect. whatever). Crouching down and lapping the cold, soft surface. Quenching his thirst.

  • At his statement, Tiger merely laughed, shaking his head and looking towards the tom. "I have no reason to be jealous. I did better on the trials then any of those minors, so i'm already have more authority than some of these cats. I don't want High Elite or Head. Respect is nice to get, but having so much responsibility and expectations of you isn't for me," he stated before flicking his tail to say he wasn't listening anymore. He then walked over to where he had seen Ripple. He looked towards Holly and slightly dipped his head in respect, but then lifted it again and looked towards the Trainee. "Lookin' for cats, I hear?"

startled by the high elite, she jumped away from the squirrel. as she processed her question, the minor shook her head. "naw, he was okay. he even offered me this squirrel," she mentioned, motioning to the squirrel that she had jumped quite a ways away from. "but looking at it now, i don't think i want it. it looks a little too big for someone so small." she decided jokingly, before simply reaching for one of the smaller pieces of prey, in this case a small vole.

Cloud simply shrugged and watched as the tom stormed off. If he was going to act like that, fine. Cloud had his own problems to deal with. Since Holly and Ripple were organizing a hunting patrol, it would be his duty to organize a border patrol. Maybe he could do the same thing as holly, and invite a trainee to help him. She would certainly admire him for that. Eyes narrowed, the pale tom scanned the clearing until his eyes fell on Birch. The small, young she cat was perfect for the occasion.

"Hey, Birch! How would you like to help me lead the border patrol today?" he asked with a friendly glint to his pale eyes. He took in the trainee's shocked, honored, wide eyes and chuckled slightly. He lowered himself slightly to the ground so he was eye to eye with the young cat. "It would be my honor to have you choose who accompanies me on the patrol. How would you like to do that, eh?" his voice was soft and fatherly, and his tone was kind.

  • Quick and silent, Twitchmaunevered her way into the camp surronded by the gnarled trees she knew so well. The elite had been gone since shortly after sunrise, as was her want. She hopped down from the final branch and landed inside the camp with a soft thud. Her chomps were clamped around a single piece of prey--a smaller than average bird of some kind. She grimaced. This was the only thing she had caught. The lack of prey in the territory was began to to concern the feline, but only time would tell if the shortage itensified. Twitch padded over the fresh kill pile to drop off her catch. Immediately she notcied two cats by the pile. Upon further inspection, she recognized the two as a fellow High Elite and a minor. Although the decrease in prey occupied her mind, Twitch opted to a simple greeting. Once she dropped off her mouse, she mewed in her deep voice with a nod to each cat, "Curse, Glass.."

A sudden rush of the breeze made the trainee shiver. Wren had a rotten look plastered upon his face. Leaf bare was the absolute worse time of the year for him. All it meant was being cold and being hunrgy. He didn't even get to experience the snow. Wren sighed, thoughts drifting back to his first leaf-bare, also his first and only snow! He remembered how much he enjoyed it--in fact it was likely his best memory as a kit. An intense sneeze brought him back to reality. Well...standing around here isn't gonna warm me up anytime soon.

She blinked her blue eyes, which were darkened with confusion.

Cloud gave the confused trainee an understanding smile. "Well, Holly has come up with the idea of giving lower ranked tribe members a chance to see what being a Head Elite feels like. Of course, we will help and supervise you, but we think it would be fun, and good experience, for you to lead your own patrol! I wish I had gotten this chance before I became Head Elite; it often gets confusing and stressful when you are the main patrol leader. So, this takes stress off of my shoulders, and gives you much needed experience. Understand?" he meowed with subtle blinks of his pasty grey-green eyes.

the minor nodded to twitch as she approached, slightly disappointed in herself for her apparent lack of discretion. "how are you today, twitch?" she asked quietly, her head down in a gesture of submission. this one, however, was as genuine as it gets, as she had nothing but respect for the high elite. twitch had always been one of her role-models, and while that dream was shattered, the respect still remained.

Cloud smiled at the nervous apprentice. His gaze fleetingly glanced around the clearing, and fell on twitch and glass. "How about you run over there and ask twitch and glass if they want to join us. • [font=georgia](I think Twitch is Birch's mentor?)

The tall she-cat directed her gaze to the approaching cat, Birch. Her mouth curled slightly into a faint smile. The trainee's offer didn't immediately captivate the elite. A border patrol? In all honesty she had wished to set up a hunting patrol but...
Twitch looked to where Cloud was. She had noticed Holly's new formula for getting cats involved and had to admit it was quite a sound idea. Therefore, it was likely Birch would be leading the patrol alongside Cloud. The feline finally spoke up, "I'll accompany you." This was followed by a glance towards Glass, inquiring her decision.[font]

the minor blinked, stunned that she was being asked to go, but didn't let herself show it. she gave a small nod to the young she-cat, a small reassuring smile, rare for her, sliding it's way across her face. "if you'll have me." she replied quietly, her small legs now itching to hunt. she hadn't been in quite some time, due to having to due the majority of the minor work, considering most ignored it. subconsciously she was putting this workload on herself to show holly her dedication, but now that she thought about it, it could have the opposite effect. hunting would be the perfect way to remedy that.

  • [justify]A cold breeze slapped her in the face like a wake-up call; the world around her droned with the hustle and bustle of the Tribe of Falling Stones. Her eyelids were shut tight in unbridled protest, but like anyone, the young kit knew she couldn't resist the temptation of simply obeying the winds' wishes in order to rid herself of the burden it had brought her. "Dung-faced c- cccold ..." Her voice was soft and immediate, but she wielded her tongue like a weapon by delivering the agitated swear word.

Her eyes opened up to her domain as fast as a strike of lightning; then, she bounced up, her paws lingering close to her chest until she landed back upon the ground; landing with a colossal thud and a burst of peaty dirt bits here and there. The furry female shook out the bister dreck from her white and black-striped fur with the rowdy attitude of a badger. Then, - with a calm and firm gait - she took a split second to study her surroundings, her dark green oculars shaded with a certainly calculative countenance.

Alright, let's get this fox-dung party over with. This was a new day, which meant new options; thus, she had to determine the decisions that could give her the best results in her quest for knowledge and power. Such were the ways of a child who knew well of how insignificant and meaningless she was when compared to the rest of the world, for the girl had experienced things most cats had not - and likely should not - have to experience. We'll touch on those topics later on.

With that being said, the child pondered the first few plans of action that came to mind. Well, the elders' den would be nice, but it might be better to see if I can slip in a bite to eat first. If there was any chance to eat food, she'd take it. She dearly hoped that there'd be some real meat to eat and that their patrols weren't being as stupid as blind mice. How hard was it to catch food when everyone's lives depended on it?

Thankfully enough, when she went to investigate their food stock, there was ... well, there was definitely something there. However, most of it seemed to be meager servings that no one wanted to eat, such as starved mice, bony birds or ice-cold creatures whose bodies had been ravaged far beyond identification. Being small, though, any of the food here would be more than enough for her, so she settled upon a bird and one small mouse. Since she was a child, she - unlike many others - could afford to be picky.

She sunk her fangs into the wing of the bird and dragged it away from the main bunch. The tasty, raw warmth radiated from the avian's insides and poured into her tiny jaws. She licked her lips with satisfied indulgence; food was the only sunny paradise a feline could attain in such a freezing winter. It was a lucky piece of fresh-kill that she'd make sure to keep to herself before any of the Tribe's famished barbarians had the chance to take it from her.

After swiping the mouse to her side as well, she plucked the feathers right off the bird, saving some for her nest or as presents to others. Once that was done, she stripped long tendrils from the larger pieces of meat and began chewing them up in the appropriately ravenous fashion. Leaf-bare wasn't exactly a time to take things slow; no, not in the slightest. She grinned with the joyous ease that washed over her as she choked on her meal now and then.

Soon enough, she found herself longingly gazing to the elders' den, her belly almost filled to the very brim from the Tribe's yummy eats. Again, she withdrew into her mind to reflect on a decision, balancing out the pros and cons of what to do, before finally coming to her consensus and yanking a half-frozen frog towards herself. It wasn't anything to take pleasure in eating, but for what she needed it for, it'd do.

After all, she couldn't just sit there all day; as was mentioned earlier, Leviathan was an energetic child that hated stagnation. It should be no surprise that the little lady often had something in mind for what she should do next.

Poppy gave a soft groan, come on just a little bit further the entrance is just in front of you. The diluted tortoiseshell she-cat struggled to push herself towards the entrance of camp, a few pitiful looking herbs in her jaws. Why had she decided to be helpful and get up real early to help Moss? Honestly this camp entrance looked further and further away each struggled step she took. The crippled she-cat struggled through the entrance of camp and glanced around, blinking her eyes a couple of times as the cold breeze nearly sent the she-cat tumbling.

[color=tomato]"Mousebrained wind, why don't it just back off." Poppy hissed under her breath, honestly her sentence didn't make much sense to others but it made perfect sense in her head. The she-cat limped towards the healer's den, after this she was expecting some praise, a lick between her ears and hopefully a mouse or two, she was starving and freezing as well, the cold winds just cut through her pelt.

Rain lay in her nest, struggling to even open her eyes. She knew that her days were numbered, but yet she still tried to put effort into her days. Her limbs were stiff, her breathing hard and her spirit dampened. The she-cat struggled to push herself up simply to groom her thick pelt, which was tangled and messy. No matter how much she tried Rain couldn't groom herself, letting out a frustrated little hiss, why could she not complete such a simple action? The thick furred she-cat rasped and hissed as she tried to push herself up into a sitting position, her limbs struggling to move with her horrible arthritis. Rain really was a pitiful sight, she didn't even recognise Poppy as her grand daughter, she would always have to be reminded of that simple fact. She couldn't groom her own pelt, normally Silver or Glass would have to help her with that, she couldn't tell stories to Minnow and she could hardly make her way out of the den to bask in the sun without the help of the tribe.
