[color=white]INNOVATION[hr][hr]
Now, Prospit has a lot of HOMESTUCK shenanigans going on, so it's pretty necessary to explain all the weird terms people will most likely refer to in this thread while shipping. Just so no one feels left out, or confused<3
Below, I've included a guide to the 'quadrants' in homestuck romance. It's simple and easy to follow! Credit to the HELP FOR HOMESTUCK tumblr for this easy to understand guide!
Red and Black Romance
Red romance is based around more positive emotions. It consists of matespritship and moirallegiance. Black romance is based around more negative emotions. It consists of kismesissitude and auspisticism.
Concupiscent and Conciliatory
Matespritship and kismesissitude are the two concupiscent quadrants, which are more sensual. They are linked with reproduction. Moirallegiance and auspisticism are the two conciliatory quadrants, which are more platonic.
Matespritship
AKA the flushed quadrant, represented with ♥ or <3 in text form
Redrom concupiscent
Matespritship is the most similar quadrant to human love. The two seem to care for each other as would humans. In canon, many couples constantly switch between matespritship and kismesissitude due to troll nature.
One’s partner in this quadrant would be referred to as their matesprit.
The word matesprit is derived from the words “mate” and “esprit”.
And yes, this quadrant is linked with reproduction and bucket filling.
Moirallegiance
AKA the pale quadrant, represented with ♦ or <> in text form
Redrom conciliatory
Moirallegiance is similar to friendship, but does not stop at that. The two would look out for each other’s safety and well being, but also keep their moirail in check. Often, one’s moirail helps aid their anger or violent tendencies to prevent danger to others. In turn, they would protect them similar to a guardian.
One’s partner in this quadrant would be referred to as their moirail or pale mate.
The word moirallegiance is derived from the words “moira” and “allegiance”.
And no, this quadrant is not linked with reproduction and bucket filling.
Kismesissitude
AKA the caliginous quadrant, represented with ♠ or <3< in text form.
Blackrom concupiscent
Kismesissitude is one of the harder quadrants to explain. The two kismeses hate each other to a high extent, but not to the point of wishing death or the like. It is similar to rivalry, and is based around striving to be better than the other.
One’s partner in this quadrant would be referred to as their kismesis.
The word kismesis is derived from the words “kismet” and “nemesis”.
And yes, this quadrant is linked with reproduction and bucket filling.
Auspisticism
AKA the ashen quadrant, represented with ♣ or c3< in text form.
Blackrom conciliatory
Auspisticism is the only quadrant that involves a total of three trolls. It often proves to be a mediator between two kismeses, if the quadrant becomes to dangerous or threatens other relationships.
The mediator in this relationship would be referred to as the auspistice.
The word auspistice is derived from the words “auspicious” and “armistice”.
And no, this quadrant is not linked with reproduction and bucket filling.
[size=12]Notes, Tips, Warnings, and Facts
•No troll can rightfully have more than one person (or two in the case of auspisticism) filling each quadrant.
•Moirallegiance and kismesissitude are both linked to fate.
•Trolls do have platonic hate and friendship
So, now that that's out of the way, LETS GET SHIPPING! Because a shipping thread was totally necessary.
