He's The Last (Apocalyptic RP - CLOSED)

Natasha cursed under her breath and gave a wide eyed look at colton "figures you would come with a side effect of trouble" she said with a slight grin. she looked at the women approaching and set avannon on the ones that were closest. she watched as Avannon ran to a larger woman and tore open her right thigh. the woman fell to the ground and before avannon could kill her natasha said "no, leave her." avannon whimpered but ran to join the group again. "okay guys, do they have weapons?" she asked as they ran. the group of women kept up pretty well, and she saw that some were riding horses "what the hell?! they have horses?" she cried out in annoyance. " okay, taissa, here is where i need your help. i know its sad, but we have to take out either thre horse, or its rider" she said. Looking at the white haired girl she made her decision "shoot the riders off their horses" she instructed. "try not to kill, just cause enough pain for them to fall off" she said. turning around so she ran backward, she let off an arrow hitting a rider in the leg. the sudden pain made the injured woman jerk off balance and fall from the horse "like that!" she said.

Kate caught on to what Dalton was doing. He was smart, a quick thinker, and right now she was grateful for that. She quickly grabbed onto his hand and pulled herself up. She had only ridden a horse once, and that was when she was little, this was terrifying to her. She sat behind Dalton, her arms wrapped around his stomach. She shut her eyes and held on, clinging to Dalton. It was fine, they were going to make it out, at least she thought. She felt a searing pain in her back, but brushed it off. It wasn't THAT bad, right? Maybe a branch just hit it. She lifted her head from Dalton's back, realizing she had left a red smear on it. She lifted a hand and wiped her mouth, seeing the warm, red liquid. Blood. Her eyes widened slightly as she realized what had happened. She'd been hit by one of their pursuers, a gun, an arrow, at this point she didn't know what it was "D..alton.." She said slowly.

Natasha jumped on behind colton and shouted "everyone on? lets ride!" as they passed dalton and kate she saw a big stain of blood on kate's back. she also saw blood come out of the girl's mouth. "sh*t.." she cursed and looked at kate "we gotta get to safety fast. Natasha looked to see if Avannon was following , she noticed the wolf was falling behind. "c'mon avannon! you can do it!" she cried. she could tell the wolf was exhausted. tears came to her eyes and she finally lost her cool "no! Avannon please! " she screamed. the wolf was the only thing that kept her calm. the only thing she cared about. now she was in the process of losing her.

Avannon heard natasha's voice. it urged her to go faster. she wheezed as she had been running really fast for a long time, trying to keep up with the horses. she looked one more time at her human's face, before disappearing into the forest to rest. she would try to follow the scent later...but for now she couldnt breath.

Kate blinked hard, trying to gather herself. Everything was disoriented, she couldn't think straight. She was having trouble keeping her arms around Dalton, and if she let go, she'd fall. She knew that, but right now she had bigger problems. The shock was wearing off and with it the numbness. She started to feel the pain in her back more and more. It had to have been a gun, for it felt like it had exploded inside of her. It felt like thousands of daggers were stabbing into her. At this point, falling off a horse would be a walk in the park compared to the pain she was feeling right now. She tried to keep her eyes open.Focus on the trees She thought to herself. She had to hold on, focus on Dalton, focus on holding on to him.

Natasha wiped her tears although they still spilled down her cheeks. for some reason even knowing she wouldnt lose Avannon didnt stop the pain within her. she noticed she was still in the lead. she pulled the reins allowing her horse to fall back so she could keep an eye on colton. she slapped dalton's horse's rear as it passed causing it to go faster "get her some medicine fast!" she screamed at them. she watched colton run toward her with Avannon and she shook her head. he was risking himself for her happiness. she blushed softly but spotted a woman on a horse gaining on him quickly. she shot her off the horse. she shot several women that were on foot and as colton ran past her she kept shooting to keep them far enough away. she gave colton a few minutes head start and then galloped full speed toward the store, not giving any more glances behind her.

Kate could barely keep up with what was going on. They were in the woods, then they were by a grocery store. Everything seemed like a dream to her, voices far off speaking to her. She could hear Dalton's voice, then Winter's voice. She gave a sharp cry when Winter touched the wound, having to wrap it up. She gave a weak, but grateful smile. She slid off the horse, slowly walking a few steps. She only made it three steps before falling. A bullet had definitely struck dead center on her back, still buried somewhere inside her flesh. The entry wound was small, but gushing blood. The blood that oozed from Kate's mouth indicated internal damage. Not a good thing with no high tec hospitals.

Kate was starting to tremble. Right about now, all she wanted was Dalton holding her, cradling her, telling her she would be fine. Would she be fine? Was she dying? Winter had had a certain look on her face, she had even left to talk to Dalton out of ear shot. None of these things were good signs. She glanced up at Taissa. She blinked hard, noticing she got the same look as Winter did "Is..is everything o-okay..?" She asked weakly, unable to see the servarity of her own wound.

Kate gave a weak smile as she tried to focus her eyes on Dalton. She felt safe in his arms, it was like everything was okay again. She turned her head against him, burying it there. She listened to the far away voices of Colton and Dalton arguing. They were so faint, yet so close. One thing she did hear was the word dying. Dying? Now she was afraid. After all she had been through, she was going to die like this? Like some dog on the streets? She closed her eyes tightly as a small tear escaped. Then, she felt herself being taken away from Dalton. Her eyes shot open and she looked a little panicked, not understanding what was going on. She was oblivious to the pain, oblivious to her own blood leaving large puddles on the floor, all she cared about was Dalton. He was her main focus. She whined as she was taken "D-Dalton...w..wh" she started, stammering often. Her voice was unsteady, edged with pain "Wh-Whats..wrong?" She couldn't see her wound, to her it was just a cut, maybe a gash. She didn't realize the severity, but she did notice how tore up Dalton was, he was even tearing up.

Natasha hugged Avannon tightly as tears streamed down her face and into the soft fur below. She gave the wolf a piece of jerky and followed Colton over to kate and dalton. Her face paled as she saw kate's wound but she cleared her throat about to say she needed help when Colton offered to do so. she watched as Dalton screamed at Colton and winced when colton screamed. As Dalton handed over kate, natasha breathed a sigh of relief. Moving closer to kate she gently took the girl's hand into her own, stroking the back of her hand soothingly "you'll be alright kate, dalton is right here and im sure colton knows what he is doing" she comforted. She gave colton a quick look that spoke you do know what you're doing right?.
