    //Weird title. Sh, I know.

The small cafe wasn't quite full, but it wasn't empty. There were others bustling around her, but that didn't mean there were others who weren't quiet. Rush hour had finished, and it was one of those odd middle hours of the day when most are at work or in school, and few drift about. She was, at this time among those few, and there seemed to be another who was as well.

He was alone, his beverage had no more steam emerging from it and evaporating into the air. Most people would have overlooked him as if he didn't exist, most people would have never noticed his odd demeanor, or his apparent simultaneous interest and disinterest in the world around him. Lips being dry, eyes glancing around in a way that reminded her of hysteria, but at the same time they seemed to be staring off into space, as if he never even noticed what was happening in the world about him. His eyes seemed to be every shade of blue, and his pupils dilated.

Those eyes of his seemed to continuously draw her attention, and at this point she had caught herself staring, but not before he had caught her staring. Now, she seemed to be his attention, and he wasn't looking to the world around him. She made her way through the quiet cafe, it had to be something she had consumed earlier that day, there couldn't possibly be a way that so many contradictory things were happening at once and converging on each other. She placed her hands on the small table and leaned in until she was fairly close, studying his eyes and searching for something, but she didn't quite know what. She swallowed and her tongue felt as though it was buried in sand, "you have.. really nice eyes.." she managed in a very distant tone.

In the small rural town the lay in the forest, there was a little cafe. Not many people went to it because it wasn't very popular, but there was a boy who was a regular to the little place, a boy who mainly went unnoticed.

He sat it the back corner, staring out at the fresh falling snow that signaled the beginning window. He'd been sitting in that same spot for hours on end now, just staring, seeming to be locked in his own thoughts. He barely noticed as the girl from across the room stood and walked to him. His entire body tensed when she began to speak. His eyes turned, his ice coloured gaze seeming to slice into her body.
He found it quite strange, that a mortal like her would come to him and complement his odd coloured eyes. In the supernatural world he was used too, he was an outcast because of his eyes. To many of his kind, his strange eyes were the sign of something terrible to come.

Slowly, the boy turned himself to face her.
    '' My eyes? Huh.''
He didn't thank her for the kind worlds as he continued to stare at her unblinkingly.
'' I've never heard that one before.''

The young girl remained in her daze, her knees seemed to buckle under her weight as his gaze became more focused on hers. Something about his eyes, she didn't know what it could possibly be, and it was bothering her to the extent that she was acting different than she normally did. She tilted her head slightly, looking into the array of colors that seemed to reflect every shade of blue, while remaining in only blue and not venturing to green or purple. It seemed so strange to her.

"Is that so.." she murmured. She blinked and pulled away from him slightly, her eyes refocusing and she tried not to look back into his eyes, avoiding the strange trance they seemed to cast. Her cheeks flushed slightly as she realized what she had done, and how close her face had been to the stranger. "Ah, I'm sorry.. I couldn't.. I didn't.." She sighed, incapable of explaining herself, "I'm sorry." she repeated, firmer than she did the first time and stole another look into his eyes before looking away yet again, she couldn't bring herself to move away from his table quite yet, her question hadn't been answered but she didn't know how she should ask it, either. She didn't even fully know what her question was to begin with.

The boy pushed himself up out of his seat, looking like a giant compared to her. His dark hair hung down over his eyes, but the bright colours of his eyes shone through his hair with no problems. He stomach seemed to growl as he gazed at her. He inhaled sharply, taking in her sweet aroma.

    Sweet... Hungry...

The boy hadn't fed in quite a while since he had been in one of his moods which seemed to be happening more and more often. The only thing he'd really drank or eaten was the hard, black coffee that he had been drinking earlier. He blinked lazily, his eyes seeming to shimmer an almost twitch in a way as he regained control of himself.

'' I've seen you here before. A vanilla-hazelnut latte, correct?''

His in his voice the was a hint of an accent, sound Irish or Scottish, which seemed to fit with his appearance, except for his eyes, which seemed to put his looks out f place/

She looked at him with something of a baffled expression. "Ah, yes.. That's what I usually order, isn't it.." she muttered, almost more to herself than to him. "You don't have to get me anything, I can pay for myself." she insisted, resurfacing from her wandering mind. She bit her lip, wringing her hands together nervously.

He rolled his eyes, pushing past her and going for the counter. He Was quick at ordering the drinks, making it know that he new his own drink and pretty much always ordered it. Once the barista handed him the two coffees, he turned to face the girl again, a slight smirk on his face.

'' It looks like I've beat you to it. Honestly way do girls tend to act like that? Anytime they see someone they may or may not think is cute, they get all nervous. But then again...,''

He moved in front of her, gently pressing the warm coffee cup into her hand as he stared down at her intently.

,''Most boys, when they see a girl can go two ways. Ether they become the prince that you've been looking for, or they turn into complete jack*sses who end up making your life a living hell.''

October accepted the cup, letting it warm her numb fingertips. He did seem like an odd one, saying such strange words to her. She frowned a bit, he was a little off. She did find him attractive, but that wasn't the reason for her nervousness or puzzlement. Something about him just made her uneasy, as if something was very off about him. It was very strange to her, no one she had met previously had ever made her act so different from her regular self. It didn't seem reasonable for him to make her this uncomfortable. She was quiet for a moment after he had spoken, and avoided any further eye contact. "Thank you," she replied, her voice still distant, "are you looking to become one of those?" October didn't realize what she had said until it had already left her lips, and she had wished she hadn't.

Marcus raised his eyebrow, his words running through his mind. This was the longest converstation had had really with in one in quite a long time and honestly, he didn't know how he should respond to her.

    '' You tell me.''

He watched her, his eyes now seeming curious

'' Tell me what you think of my just by looking. Your question is an interesting one, but I must answer with I'm not sure. You see, to me it all depends on the girl. If she is shy and timid, and her heart is very fragile, then I would have to treat her with care, or fear destroying her. If she is rough, loves to party and run 'round and at like a rebel, there isn't really a reason to be careful with her.''

Marcus paused, looking at her. His stomach growled again, making a sort of growl come up in his throat. He took a large long sip of his drink as, trying to satisfy his hunger again, but this time it didn't seem to work. he needed to feed, and soon.

She bit her lip, taking a swift glance to his face, enough to see his curiosity and how now, she seemed to be the one being studied. "I don't like guessing much. If you must guess for something it only makes the situation seem indirect and deceptive." she replied, taking a sip from her own beverage.

He nodded, blinking lazily as he considered her words.

'' That's and interesting way to think about it. I like the way you think.''

Marcus smiled at her, though now the air around them seemed to freeze and go still. His eyes were now a deeper shade of blue, and his skin had become a bit more pale. In his mind, all he could think about was the food that stood in front of him, and how if he fed here, he would face punishment from the High king and his priests.

'' Hey. You want to get out of here? I know this great park out in the in the trees that gets covered in snow around this time of year. Would you like to see it?''

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; height: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: times new roman; size: 10pt; color: white;]
She didn't have a good feeling about him. Something about the way he acted, his pale skin, and his hungry eyes made her feel like his thumb was almost over her, and she would be left squirming under it with no way to escape if she didn't leave now. "Yeah, that sounds nice." She couldn't help but to say yes and go along with him. She still didn't know if there was anything that really changed him from the rest of the people that loitered about this world, and she set on convincing herself that there wasn't so her mind could be left at ease. After all, curiosity did kill the cat.

Marcus led her away from the parking lot of the park and out into a frozen field covered in glittering white snow. He had a difficult time controlling himself in the car on their way, and they had only been in the vehicle a few minutes. He breathed in the cold fresh air as he stretched. He looked over at October as she climbed out of the car.

'' See? W-What do you think?''

His voice seemed to tremble now with the effort it took to hold his composure. Like he had suspected, the park was completely empty. This park had a large river on one side of it, which was now coated in ice, that was used a lot in the summer. That was when many people came around and camped out and had picnics while they're children could go swimming to cool down

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; height: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: times new roman; size: 10pt; color: white;]
She smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, it's really nice." October said, watching him. He was acting different than his initial calm demeanor. He seemed nervous, or maybe excited. What could he have been excited for? Small snowflakes began to sprinkle down, floating along with the small gusts of wind. A handful gathered in her hair, a bright white against her pastel pinkish orange hair. She smoothed out her cream colored dress, her green fur-lined jacket remained unzipped, as she had expected it to be just a quick trip to the cafe and mostly inside, and was beginning to slide a tad off one of her shoulders. The drink he had bought her was held close to her chest in her ungloved hands.

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; height: auto; width: 300px;]
    "I'm glad you like it."

He moved a bit closer to her, the friendliness of his fake smile fading once he was behind her. His eyes became more vicious looking as he stared down at her. Against his wishes his hunger had taken the best of him. He reached and grabbed her arms in an iron grip. Leaning forward, he moved his face to her collar bone and in half slowly.

"You smell delicious. Your scent has been driving me insane frI'm the moment you walked over to me at the café. But now I have you."

His fangs enlarged and be a me very noticeable. His grip holding her atill, he grazed his fangs against her skin teasingly.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; height: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: times new roman; size: 10pt; color: white;]
She let out a small gasp at his sudden grip. Her body shook and she attempted to pull free of his grasp, though it proved to be futile. Her skin ran hot under his teasing teeth. "My.. scent..?" she managed. That was just like her. Even in the dire situations she wanted to know things, even just little things. She remained curious.

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; height: auto; width: 300px;]
    He grinned darkly, growling.

    '' Aren't you scared, morsel?''

Her curiosity confused the ever living out of him. He growl again becoming even more irritated as his hunger increased. With giving the girl warning, his fangs pierced her skin, biting into her warm flesh. Her blood flooded into his mouth, tasting sweet. Blood dripped from his jaw down onto the snow.
