Shadow just stared at her as she spoke, crimson eyes vacant.
"I.... n... no," he said, but he sounded uncertain and confused. He took a step back, shaking his head slightly.
Shadow just stared at her as she spoke, crimson eyes vacant.
"I.... n... no," he said, but he sounded uncertain and confused. He took a step back, shaking his head slightly.
"Uhh... You fought a blue robot right before that," Spirit suggested, blinking. "You have to remember that."
Shadow gave a small nod. "Metal Sonic. That was part of my training drill that morning. We are often ordered to fight." The corner of his mouth twitched. "Unfortunately, I... was..... bested."
"Okay, right after that was when we saw each other. When... Eggman wanted me to fight you, remember?" Spirit urged, grasping for any sign of memory in Shadow's face.
Shadow stared back at her. "I..." He shook his head and stared at her harder. "Spirit, are you all right?"
"Am I feeling--" Spirit felt her anger begin to boil. "You're telling me you didn't see me use my power at all??"
Shadow continued to stare at her. "No...?"
Spirit put her hands to her head in confusion. "But-- h-how--" She ran her fingers through her bangs. "Why..."
Shadow hesitantly reached towards her hand. "Do you... need to go to the infirmary...?" he asked worriedly, his voice low and kind of confused.
Spirit looked at Shadow, bags beginning to appear under her eyes. I should just leave it alone. It's not worth all this trouble. She sighed and made sure she calmed herself before speaking. "No, I'm fine... Let's just continue..."
"A.. all right.." His hand froze, then withdrew. He still looked off, almost dazed with confusion after Spirit's comment.
Spirit's mind continued to race with questions as she turned toward the punching bag. Her fists burst into hot flames as she focused on it once more.
Shadow's mouth dropped open abruptly and he jumped back in surprise.
Spirit squeezed her eyes shut, emotions boiling to the surface just like the tongues of flame that licked at her hands. She brought a fist back and sent a fierce punch into the bag as if socking someone in the gut. The bag flew back a few feet and toppled over.
Shadow just stared, crimson eyes enormous.
Slowly, he lifted up his hands and clapped.
(xD)
Thouh she was applauded, Spirit looked far from happy. She bit her lip, clenching and unclenching her fingers in an attempt to calm herself down, the fire still crackling. After about a minute, she settled herself down, and the fire vanished.
Shadow's mild clapping ceased as he watched her.
Spirit snapped out of her daze and looked up at Shadow, nervously smiling. "Thanks," she said, folding her hands. "Much better than last time, right?" She forced a soft giggle.
Shadow nodded numbly, still staring. He seemed to be somewhat shocked.
Spirit rubbed her arm awkwardly, knees facing each other as she blushed lightly. "What?" She asked. "Don't people normally have powers here?"
