Pronunciation - Wih-jet Guh-eer

Name Inspiration - I wanted to make this character have something to do with technology and machines, like a mechanic or engineer of some sort. I wanted her to be a strong builder and creator who's ideas are spontaneous and never end. By definition, a Widget "Is a small gadget or mechanical device, especially one whose name is unknown or unspecified." I took this word and paired it up with Gear; which is a toothed wheel in a machine that works together with other gears in order to transmit motion. To me, this fit Widget perfectly! A system of interlocking and connected parts that all work together for one common goal. Thus, Widget Gear was born.

Appearance - Widget is a strong, sturdy, & muscular Bombay cat with short, fine charcoal colored fur. Her eyes are a blueish-grey hue and she has a triangular-shaped head. Widget has sharp pointy ears with hair tufts sprouting from within them and lengthy whiskers poking out of her muzzle. She is very stocky, having visible muscles and is pretty large overall, the largest out of all my characters. This makes her good at up-front attacks in battle; letting her deliver strong, sharp blows with a good amount of force behind them. However, even though this gives her an advantage at power and defense; it takes away from her speed and accuracy. this picture here is how widget would look minus the orange eyes. Commonly worn accessories - A pair of steel welding goggles, usually worn on top of her head when not in use + a small, brown, leather saddle pack that she wears around her torso. it contains various tools & stray mechanical parts.

Mutations - She is a Polydactyl Cat! This means that she was born with an excess amount of toes on some of her paws. Widget has two extra toes on each of her forepaws, and one extra toe on each of her hindpaws. She also has "Thumb cat polydactyly" which means that the first digit (known as the dewclaw on cats) is enlarged, and big enough to look like an opposable thumb! Some cats who have this condition have learned how to use their thumbs to even do things with them! Widget does have this condition. ((This is actually a real mutation in cats, look it up- i'm totally not joking about this!!))

▪ Bipolar II Disorder - A less severe type of Bipolar Disorder. It is distinguished by hypomanic episodes and depressive states. The depressive symptoms of her disorder can range from hopelessness & sadness. The Hypomanic symptoms can be a elevated irritability or annoyance. The overall symptoms of her disorder include (but are not limited to) mood swings, general discontent, sadness, compulsive / impulsive behavior, restlessness, and racing thoughts. Widget's Bipolar Disorder is a part of her that she can't get rid of, however; she has learned how to gain better control of it over the years. The symptoms will never fully go away and she'll always have episodes every now and then. But, through all of this; Widget has learned and created coping mechanisms to help herself work with her disorder. She just tries to take it day by day.

▪ SAD / Seasonal Affective Disorder - SAD is a mood disorder that usually occurs at the same time period every year. Widget's SAD usually elevates around winter time. When her disorder crops up, it causes depression as well as a list of other symptoms. Those include loneliness, social isolation, loss of interest, fatigue, excessive sleepiness, and lack of concentration. Because of this disorder, Widget has come to loathe winter time and avoids it as much as she can. She's even taken to moving to coastal areas where the winter seasons are short.

▪ Dynamic and Confident. Widget is adventurous and spontaneous, often trying out new and exciting things and creating new machinery and equipment for herself. Within an instant, a brand new idea can pop into her head and cause her to spring into action. She enjoys the rush of experimenting and dabbling in different areas, always willing to try one thing or the other. Because of her ability to change with her environment, Widget can be described as very flexible and able to"go with the flow". She doesn't mind being in the spotlight or in the middle of an unfamiliar situation. Her confident nature allows for her to involve herself with different activities and such without feeling out of place or extremely nervous. She's always willing to try something new!

▪ Reasonable. A large part of Widget's personality is based on logical reasoning & analysis. By deconstructing something down to its bare roots, Widget gets a chance to see how it works and functions. (figuratively and literally!) this process of analyzing content allows her to form her own speculative theory (opinion) on it and lets Widget decide for herself if said content makes sense enough for her to accept it. If the mindsets and ideas of others don't make sense to Widget, she could care less about it. She keeps a good level of fairness and equity about her, wanting to keep the playing field level for those around her. This means that Widget is pretty good at seeing things from others' points of view, not limiting herself just to her own way of seeing things. She is able to consider and accept other ideas and theories; as long as it makes sense to her! (which can also be a flaw in some situations where she's not accepting/tolerating something reasonable just because she doesn't understand it fully.

Pronunciation - Puh-res-teej & Puh-res-teej-ee-us

Name Inspiration - I thought of a huge, gaudy, over-the-top feather plume. Feather plumes were used as writing quills before dip pens were invented. Although usage of these quills has declined heavily over time, they have made a huge impact on culture today. Writing quills are now often seen as a symbol of pretentiousness, authenticity, and importance. The word Prestigious by definition means "inspiring respect and admiration; having high status." I wanted to smash all of this together to create a character who embodied not only respect and dignity, but who also had a good sense of morality and modesty. So, from all of this I came up with Prestige as a character.

Appearance - Prestige is a Persian with heaps of thick, fluffy, cloud-colored fur. She is very short, with a chunky and wide build. Her legs are stubby, thick, and sturdy; being very strong & supporting the majority of her body weight. She has small, round, turquoise eyes and long, expressive whiskers that sprout out from the tops of her eyes and her muzzle. Prestige has a large plume-like tail and tiny roundish ears which are centered on top her head. Because of her solid & bulky body type, Prestige is able to pack a huge amount of force and strength into extremely concentrated attacks. However, this causes her to move much slower during battle in order for her to focus on attacking strategic weak points. This in turn causes her to be open to enemy attacks & advances if she isn't careful. Disorders - PTSD / Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - Had a sour run-in with a dog a very long time ago and was badly wounded, mainly around her stomach area. She was nearly mauled to death but survived due to an intervention by a flock of crows that swooped down and bombarded the dog, chasing it away from her as she fled. She has had night terrors and awful nightmares of the encounter for years. Prestige experienced several panic attacks, realistic flashbacks and severe episodes of dissociation. Today, Prestige has gained better control over her symptoms, but will never fully heal. Since the day of the incident, Prestige has never hunted, killed, or hurt a crow, and she will continue to do so.

Anxiety - Her anxiety is a side effect of the PTSD and causes her to become restless & irritable. It can also cause her to have poor concentration, racing thoughts, anxiety attacks, and immense fear. Her anxiety is triggered quickly in situations where she can get stressed out easily. Avoiding certain triggers or situations had helped her control it, but not rid of it. She never can get rid of it.
