• As she pointed out the latch, Christian gave it a closer look. Yeah it was rusted, but untouched. Out of curiosity the vampire gave the latch a tug and it did nothing. A lie! He turned around to see a gun barrel at his chest and stood frozen over.

    Hunter.

Grinning like an idiot, Christian began laughing. "I'm sure she would woman!" He was cornered, it was either the wolf behind him..or the lady in front. The vampire looked to the stake and growled. The shot was clear and cut, cutting into his chest, the vampire dropped to the ground coughing.

He wasn't dead, but he couldn't move either. He was suffocating, Christian reached into the bullet wound, trying to desperately dig the bullet out of his heart.

    "Why...why! "

The locked up werewolves went into a frenzy as soon as the shot was fired. Their howls and snarls, were that of hunger. Instinct. A wounded vampire was easy prey. Claire didn't even have to finish him herself, open the cages and the wolves would tear Christian apart.

"What the he-" One of Christian's guards would have went for Claire if not a familiar brown wolf hadn't pounced out on him and started mauling him.

    [/fancypost][/fancypost]
  • I gazed down at him before tucking away the pistol with a light smirk. "It's only my job. I hope there is no hard feelings. " I purr and begin undoing each latch and chains to each wolf and man alike. Bristling with each skim of their pelt against my skin in fear of receiving a swift bite yet they seemed more intent on the injured vampire.

Upon finishing, I glance over my shoulder to the writhing mass of fur, strangled screams crashing through the chaos of the audience. I eased open the door and allowed the creatures entry into the audience, keeping along the wall in an effort to not get noticed.

Soon enough I had reached the exit, quickly slipping past in an effort to get to my car as swiftly as possible. Muffled cries and snarls making their rotund display as I slipped into the drivers seat and relaxed. My fingertips gliding along the rough material at the steering wheel as I recline my head and smile bitterly.

  • I was sitting at my desk, feeling quite accomplished actually..I had gotten a lot done. But I was also worried, no! I shouldn't be worried. Claire was a nicely trained hunter who can hold her own.

In a building filled with werewolves, and vampires. I swear if she comes back bitten..

I allowed my thoughts to stray from Claire and instead to the invitation. A ball. By Jennifer. She has been trying to win my love ever since Charlotte. I don't blame her, I make a fine one to catch, but she was too desperate for attention. Raised in a house of four brothers, all she wishes is attention. And for some reason she chocie me to give it to her. I stared at her neat handwriting with awe. And she was beautiful.

Oh where was Claire! It has been two hours since her departure. It left me empty, if she doesn't return by morning..I'm afriad I'll have to give her the title of being dead. Twisting the ring around my finger, I ambled over into the foyer of my home..and waited.

Having no where else to go, I decided to follow that girl. I tracked down her scent, my only hope she would pity me. I found her in one of those weird beasts. They are dead but by some sort of magic, they can come alive and move. I place my front paws on the side of the cold beast and stand up on my hind paws. I saw her in there but she didn't seem very happy. I paw at clear wall thing between us, to try and get her attention.

  • I bristle at the sound of paws upon the vehicle, immediately peering out the window wearily to the source. It was the wolf from before... My gaze flutters once more to the entrance of the abandoned hotel, barren and desolate besides the lingering sound of feasting animals. I could only shudder. "Shoo! Run away and be free!" I say softly.

My plush lips curling in a soft smile at his eager behavior; it reminded me of an old family pet I used to own. Though I wouldn't exactly classify him as a dog... I pause and glance to the time upon the dashboard. Great. An hour drive back home.... My warm gaze drifts once more to him as a defeated sigh escapes my lips and I gather my pistol. Carefully easing my door open as I look to the hotel before exiting my vehicle and pausing. He was quite striking, amber gaze resting upon me intelligently yet he held no words.

I bite my lip before acting upon a whim and gently trying to deter him.

Though after twenty minutes, I caved in and eased open the doors to my back seats. "Elijah won't be happy if he finds out...... But we won't let that happen." I muse. I didn't mind keeping the vampire waiting, he was too wrapped up in his paperwork to care. I climb once more into the driver's seat after Klaus had made himself comfortable and rev up the engine with a satisfied smile before pulling out of that glorified hell hole.

I sniff around the vehicle curiously as it suddenly came alive. What sort of magic was this?! I sat back down and sniffed at a small black thing. My nose pressed against and suddenly cold night air hit my face. What how did it make the clear wall thing disappear?! I hesitantly stuck my head out the hole as the beast began to move. The wind whipped through my fur and I couldn't help but smile. This was fun!

  • (Haha it is... XD I can't deny that)

I glanced over my shoulder with a light laugh at the soft groan of the window opening, observing his antics fondly as I roll my eyes and return my uttermost attention to the road. I was actually quite reluctant to soil his new found experiences upon pulling into Elijah's estate. "Come on, big guy. Follow me and try to be as silent as possible. My employer is not fond of most and I would prefer not to be fired after my second assignment." I mutter softly and gingerly gather the thick silver collar from around his broad neck and tuck it away.

With that, I allow him out of the vehicle and head towards the front entrance. There was no way I could hide him in my room... Surely Elijah would smell it. Plus I didn't want my bedroom smelling of wolf but... He was just so.... Well, adorable. "Be. Good." I murmur under my breath as Emma answers the door with a warm smile. Dropping her gaze in mute terror as she grabs for me. I quietly explain before handing over my purse of weapons and car keys. "Tell Elijah that I have returned though please do not mention the.. Company." I plead before guiding Klaus up the grand staircase towards my bedroom. Elijah would surely be too caught up in paperwork to care for my arrival. All I needed to do now was allow Klaus the time to settle in.

It was only temporary.... Yeah, right.

I gratefully nuzzled her hand after she removed the collar. I liked this human, she was being very nice to me. I would be good like she asked, I wanted to see her smile again. As long as I was by her side, I owed her my life for she had saved mine. I would obey her and assist her in anyway I could. I owed her that much.

The place smelled of vampire and the fur on my hackles were on end. I had the impulse to find the vampire and rip it apart but the human had told me to be good. The vampire could be the Elijah she had mentioned.

I sniffed around her room for a second, just curious really but I was careful not to knock anything over. I looked at her bed, I was really tempted to lie on it. It looked really comfortable but it was her bed, I was in her territory and I would respect her boundaries. I found a suitable corner and curled up into a little ball before placing my head on my paws.

    [/fancypost][/fancypost]
  • I settled down loosely upon the edge of my bed, gazing quietly to the werewolf. What was I to do with him? Elijah would likely kill me if he were to find out. The thought causing shudders to trickle up my spine as I gather a pillow and hug it to my chest, cradling my knees and resting my chin upon them comfortably.

My features drawn out in reluctance as I quickly eased off my bed and secured my door with the table and chair as I had done before. Wouldn't want anyone getting nosy. Well, one person in particular.

Upon reassuring my unsteady heart rate that I was safe, I managed to carefully pick my way towards the lycanthrope. Face unreadable as I crouch at his side and meticulously guide my fingers through his course fur in an effort to make sure he was not injured. The only blood mauling his coarse pelt not being his own. "Hungry? I could use some food by now." I murmur softly and rise to my feet once more.

  • -lol-

I had returned to my desk. Checking the time closely, twenty more minutes. With another pile of paperwork, I figured I can get this done tonight.

I wasn't one to focus on one thing, always being aware. I was also on alarm since waiting for Claire's arrival. Fifteen more minutes. The maids were scurrying, and I saw one pass the study holding a purse. Like Claire's with her weapons; so she was here. I rose to my feet to greet the female, only to see she was nowhere to be found.

Must've been bad, she ran straight up to her room. But something was off, I sensed it. I glanced to a maid who met my eyes with a feared look. But we said nothing. Because I had no idea what was going on.

"Claire." I called out to the staircase, my voice bouncing off of the walls in a sharp echo. Thanks to Emma, I would've called for the hunter again. So Claire was was here and had returned to her room?. Well, I decided to pay her a visit.

Smoothly, striding up the grand staircase, gliding my palm along the railing as I advanced. Wondering still, why did Claire go to her room?

I nod softly as she asked if I was hungry. I hadn't joined the feast of vampire the other werewolves had gorged themselves on back at there. To prove my point, I rolled over onto my back and exposed my belly to her, my ribs were actually starting to show a bit through my fur and my stomach let out and angry growl. I looked at her, with sad eyes, if only she had really known what I had gone through.

  • My gaze flutters to the barricade at my door as I gingerly frown at the famished wolf and glance around silently for a place to hide Klaus. A breathless sigh in defeat escaping my lips as I adjust some pillows around him with care as a sort of bed and draw towards my bedroom door at the sound of my name.

I ease it open and offer a weak smile to Elijah as he glides up the staircase, fluid movements both entrancing yet dangerous.

"I would have brought you a souvenir from him yet he was still alive when I released the wolves.... I did not want to risk it." I apologize and run a hand through my crown of mussed hair, gazing up innocently to him. I decide to avoid the risk of him catching a glimpse of my companion and step out of my bedroom, the door rewarding me with a satisfying click. "I'm famished. Do you think you could request a meal from your chef? If not then I can wait until the morning."

Surely I could sneak a little something for the lycanthrope when I returned.

I adjusted the pillows and made them into a sort of pile. I buried myself into the pile as an extra effort to stay hidden. I waited patiently for the human to return, hopefully with something for me to eat. Even a small piece of meat would make me happy. I craved meat like a vampire craved blood. If I went without it, the line between innocent and prey became blurred.

Once the previous vampire that kept me starved me for a week, he then threw a human girl in my cell to see what would happen. I couldn't stop myself....

    [/fancypost][/fancypost]
  • I was suspicious, there was an odd smell. Maybe it was the halls, but I recognized it..it was haunting. "Of course. So Christian is dead officially?" I ask, leading her down the stairs slowly. My gaze ahead as we made our way down.

"He was a lord. And, we were invited to a ball. I can announce his death there and claim the title. I want you to be with me." I explain, the smell was far now, but it was lingering..it was so close.

I gave Claire a look, but not a genuine one. One of pure skepticism and anger. She was hiding something. But I wouldn't speak of it, instead I sighed and moved on.

    That look was a warning.

  • I had caught onto his warning. Averting my gaze sheepishly as we enter the dining room briskly, no longer minding where I sat, even if I felt like a scorned child at the moment. "Yes. He is officially dead. I took care to make sure of that." I assure him calmly.

The mention of the ball had caught me off guard, laughing lightly in disbelief as I quirk an eyebrow quizzically. "We? I don't think I was personally invited to a vampire's ball. Besides I'm not fond of being looked at like an entree by simply you, imagine a whole room." I look to him silently, observing the frustration evident as my soft argument falls short.

He could sense it. Whether it was the scent or my uneasiness was unsure to me. Perhaps I could get the werewolf to bathe. Mask his scent with some powerful herbs and some of the inviting scents I tended to use so at least that factor remained undetected.

  • "You won't be looked like an entree..I promise." I said sincerely, sitting in my usual spot at the table: on the far end. "If you want I can cloak you. There is a witch who..isn't very fond of me, but, I'm sure she won't mind a simple spell. Or, I can just protect you or, you simply do not have to go. Your choice."

I made it up to her, though..I did want her with me. Not sure why, but I did. The chef made his way over and placed the plates down. The meal smelt delicious, and I was grateful for it. It camouflaged that horrible aroma. But I still could sense it, it was on Claire.

I knew what it was I wasn't stupid. It made since she smelt like a wolf she just came from an area filled with them! But why did she bring the smell here?

After a bit of thought I came to a conclusion.

She must've touched one's fur while she was there.

  • I take notice of his staring and lift my gaze in order to chide him yet he had already looked elsewhere, satisfied in his conclusion. "I shall go. If you think you can handle it then surely I can muse your efforts." I offer softly as I look to the meal, quickly thanking the aged chef as he passed.

I immediately begin to eat, plucking through the meat silently and taking minuscule bites in silence though I could not even get close to finishing the meal. Soon enough I simply conclude on pushing away from the table and glancing away from him to Emma. Yet only briefly.

"My apologies, I believe the scent is troubling you. I shall tend to it once I return to my bedroom." A bath did sound quite nice right now yet I had to take of his vital needs first, such as food. He seemed reasonable and mundane but I concluded that all animals had a breaking point and I did NOT plan to discover his own.

  • "Wait Claire." I say, pushing from my chair and standing up. She's barely eaten, she's uneasy..what was wrong? I had a feeling it was me, I probably put her through such trauma.

I made my way around the table slowly, not stopping until I was by Claire's side. "I'm not sure what's wrong with you. But, I'm sorry. I should've went with you, I can understand why you're pulling away..being surrounded by vampires and wolves at once. I didn't mean to traumatize you." I took it upon myself to grab her hand, but threateningly.

I needed to satisfy my curiosity, I raised her arm up, bringing it up to my face and smelling her tender palm. Immediately, whether from irritation of the smell or her skin, I could feel my fangs threatening to come out..and the blackened veins that follow appear beneath my eyes.

A lycanthrope alright, so I guess she did touch one. "You touched one? You could've been bitten how could you? They're menacing beast Claire, they have no off switch." I let her hand go and shook my head in aggravation.

  • I retrieve my hand from him with a soft frown and clear my throat helplessly. "I know of the risks and yet how else was I to finish the job? It was either I take my chances of getting torn apart by werewolves or return home to tell you I had failed my assignment. " I meet his gaze in silence, ignoring the painful pumping of my heart in fear yet I do not drop my attention from him.

"Besides. I'm only a pawn in this scheme of yours. My sanity means nothing to you," I mutter reluctantly and finally drop his intense gaze to stare silently at his chest. It was a feeble reprieve from his eyes and for that I was grateful.

I gripped my fragile wrist as if to reassure myself, swallowing sharply before turning from him to my food. "Please do not apologize. It is of no fault but my own, I should have handled myself better so as not to trouble you." I murmur softly and gather my plate. Could I tell him now? I glance up in silence and immediately regret it. He was too frustrated to truly tamper his emotions at the moment. Perhaps early morning would be better.... Or never. I preferred the latter.
