• My fingertips immediately gather the fine chain as I release a heavy sigh in relief and clutch it tightly. My touch caressing each familiar crevice as though a welcomed lover. I lift my gaze quietly to him, taking in the truth that seeped through his gaze in replacement of his pain. "I shall not let you down." I murmur gently yet I could not offer him a smile, a serious lilt blessing my tone as I drop my hands carefully.

I capture his gaze momentarily and softly bristle at the sad look he currently sported. My small hand lifting as if to comfort him yet I hesitated before dropping it at my sides once more.

"I shall do all that I can to make sure nothing goes wrong. Hopefully the werewolves shall remain contained for tonight, just until we leave." I hated to admit it but I was warming up to his presence, beseeching comfort in it despite my vast years of solitude.

"Perhaps it would be best if I went in alone." I offer softly.

  • I frowned again, noticing her hand falling. What did that mean? "I'm afraid...that is true. I will have to send you off alone." I took her hand, raising it up and placing her plam against my chest.

"Remember..the heart. And be careful. The fight starts in an hour, it is your choice if you wish to be early." I kept her hand in my grasp on my chest, leaning forward to repeat what happened yesterday, to let my lips fit into her own yet again.

But this wasn't intoxication. Wasn't even love I'd say. Just, genuine worry for her safety, and that same desire. I let our kiss linger before pulling away just as slowly.

  • That familiar flutter of my heart and tingle upon my lips returns at the brief kiss. Gazing up quietly to his face as a silent question falls upon deaf ears.

"Do not fret. I shall return safely, or at least attempt to. "My sultry tone graces the accumulating silence as I lower my gaze to my hand, nestled over the position of his heart. There was no doubt that I was slightly fearful at the prospect of a multitude of vampires, all hovering over a balanced ring of savage lycanthropes.

A soft sigh escapes my lips as I resist the urge to pull him back to me, just barely. My pulse humming in my ears before gingerly offering a careful smile. "If I don't return well.... Good riddance, hm?" I muse, my tone calm despite the unsettling topic.

  • "Good Riddance my dear...friend." I had to correct my sentence. I was a noble man, one of his word..I agreed to not say 'my dear' and to feed in her presence..I will hold dear to that.

I let her hand drop and I slowly led her out of the room. Emma was there, and I allowed the maid to tend to Claire. She would need a new outift, and her purse of weapons. I whisper these things to Emma, then start for the study.

More paperwork, while Claire was on her way..I will be working.

  • I allow Emma to tend to me, sitting patiently and complying as she wished. Once finished and suitably dressed, she begins leading me to the door. Her weathered hands folded before her as she smiles warmly and dips her head. I didn't enjoy the fact it felt like a solemn goodbye. Not at all.

My necklace is quickly tucked away as I grab my purse of weapons great fully as well as a generous fee to simply get inside.

My gaze drifts to the staircase for a split second as if contemplating whether to go up and tell him I was leaving. No use, he had too much on his hands as it is.

With that, I set off out the door and towards one of the cars, easing the keys out of my pocket as I climb inside the vehicle with ease. The engine purring under me ominously in a gradual assent of power. I commended his confidence in letting me leave by myself this time. With little more than a glance back, I ease from the confines of his grand driveway and into the ebony night bathing the earth in a blanket of gleaming stars.

Off I go to grandma's house to meet the big bad wolf. Hm.... "Fun."

    "Hello there my pet."

The werewolf woke up from his nap, immediately recognizing the voice. He bared his teeth at the figure standing outside of his cell. "That's cute. You think baring your teeth is going to scare me with no growl behind it. Your all bite no bark. In the case of werewolves that's life changing. The howl and the roar, I have robbed you of two of the most important things of your species. Yet you have only grown fiercer because of this, an undefeated champion. I can't wait to see your fight tonight." The vampire said with a grin before he left.

Klaus remained in the corner of his cell. Soon the audience for tonight's fight would be here. Only few were even allowed to stop by his cell. Just so he could get looked at like some zoo animal. He hated the looks, he got. He felt like really was nothing more than a dog.

  • I arrive at the establishment and frown at the abandoned hotel glaring down upon me. My plush lips pursed in mute contemplation before I disperse inside, carefully picking my way through debris until I stumbled upon a curt little opening, the one I was given directions to. My smile fading at the muffled roars that resounded from within the ebony depths of the tiny basement area.

Immediate chills ran up my spine as a broadly built vampire blocked my path, gaze dragging down my silhouette before I quickly exchanged money and brushed past. I was not sure why but simply standing here made me feel contaminated, morally dirty.

The tiny room actually branched into a rugged little arena, complete with a pitiful little stadium and just behind that was a gaping entrance, towards the howls and growling. So that is where they hold them... Might as well plan this out, I think silently to myself before lingering at the mouth to gaze inside.

    I almost wish I hadn't. Almost.

Multiple crude enclosures pressed into each wall. The grotesquely powerful lycanthropes restrained by thick silver collar and chain. My beat little hand glided to my purse in silence as I crawled through the right spaces wearily. My gaze never drifting from the creatures as I passed.

My head perked up as I heard a beating heart loud and clear. A human. They were here by themselves, usually humans were to afraid to enter 'The Wolf Den' without a vampire to guide them. I finally got a glimpse of this human through the bars of my cell and I was taken a back for a moment.

She was....what was that word again? Oh yeah pretty. She was pretty.

I step as close to the front of my cell as my chains would allow me so I could get a better look at her. I tried to make myself look as calm and submissive as possible so I wouldn't scare her away.

  • I take notice of a meak little thing, his warm gaze holding life. A bitter hope that the others seem to have replaced with aggression. I linger at his cage in silence, offering a weak smile before pausing at the muffled sound of footsteps drawing near.

A young man, no, vampire, entered. Fair haired with a light shadow upon his square jawline, cold gaze flickering to the cage I stood before in visible distaste. "What are you doing back here alone? One of them could have gotten out and killed you! Better yet, infected you, disease-ridden mutts." He hisses and carries to my side. His powerful grip resting painfully upon my shoulders as he tears me away from the cage I stood before. Low snarls and guttural cries ripping through the air as I shrug off his touch with a slight smirk.

"They sound quite fond of you." I murmur cruelly as an ebony wolf strains against it's chains with a rabid howl.

I only earn a bitter smile in return, making sure to allow me to see his fangs though his face falls at my reaction, or lack there of. "You ought to be afra....." He is silenced by the jovial bellows of conversation from an oncoming audience. Sighing heavily before trudging back out for the arena. I allow my gaze to rest upon the submissive little scrap once more, my thin fingertips skimming the sharp wires of his cage as I frown softly and cast a glance over my shoulder. "D@mn. It's almost time..... You guys mind having a little fun tonight?" I whisper and test the locks in order for later before securing it once more and heading out into the seating arrangements. Now to find the vampire behind all of this...

  • (Guess I'll be Christian for now!)

The man behind all of this, his face scrubby as he stood on the podium before the ring. "I guess...I'll take your money now!? My Klaus is sure to win." he chuckled, allowing the roar of the crowd to die down before taking a few handfuls of the green bills. Tens...twenties, even hundreds were now in his hands. "Now, just a few more minutes..and I promise, this game will start!" Christian took his seat in the front. He was still gathering, it only made sense of course..his mute mutt was just as fierce..weak heart..but knew how to fight and when of course.

Christian was chuckling, watching some vampires clean the blood from the ring of last week's fight. But today will be different, he had a feeling..something extraordinary will happen!

  • My path only leads me to the arena, observing the 'cleanup crew' tidy up the ring as my gaze drifts to the rumbling cacophony of noise rising amidst the crowd and there, in the midst of the chaos, stood Christian, gathering money. I could only stand back in distaste, leaning silently upon a wall as the new of people arriving dies down. The surprisingly well sized crowd churning in corrupt excitement at the prospect of what they may see. Or not, depending on how quickly I manage to get this over with.

My petite hand draws to the few remaining bills I had, considering greeting him in that manner yet was it truly worth it? I could simply catch him later. Perhaps when the fights start and everyone else was busy... Then I could end his life somewhere secluded and end the night with releasing the lycanthropes. I could only hope that they would not turn on me. I wasn't fond of going furry every month.

I hear the drone of a loud speaker resounding overhead, the voice rivaling the loud conversation of the people. They introduce the fights as well as werewolves, requesting that everyone settle down and let the show begin.

I drape my lithe silhouette at the mouth of the door leading to the werewolves. As far away from the rest as possible. Simply contemplating as a silence draws over the crowd. I guess it has begun.

I remember that smile of the girl's as I was led toward the entrance of the ring. I winced slightly as a syringe was pushed into the side of my neck. I felt a bubbling rage fill me as my eyes turned gold. The drugs they administered to us made us want to fight, it messed with our heads, made us violent.

I walked out into the ring as my name was called. My mouth opened into a silent scream, the agony evident on my face. There was the loud snapping of bone was I began to change into my wolf form.

    [/fancypost][/fancypost]
  • I wince visibly at the resounding pop of bones, making no efforts to glance into the arena. No need to gather more images for my nightmares tonight. Instead I draw through the crowded seats and towards Christian, his hungry gaze resting upon the battle below as I feign innocence and gingerly tap his shoulder, easing into a seat at his side.

My hand gingerly glides down his arm as I lean my slight frame towards him, simply to be heard and get his attention. "I don't mean to be a bother yet I think one of the werewolf's cages are open.. I can show you where it is, if you'd like." I whisper, a lingering whisp of promise blessing my tone as I recline in the seat with a light smile. "We wouldn't want such a thriving business being shut down because of one feeble mutt, hm?" I purr before casting a glance to the ring. Horrified at the display before me as I shudder and rub at my arm in silence.

As soon as the other werewolf and I were in our wolf forms, a bell rang and the fight began. The other wolf and I circled each other baring our teeth, before lunging at each other. The crow cheered as I managed to draw first blood, my teeth having sank down into the wolf's shoulder.

  • Christian could feel the girl nearing him. A human huh? Slowly, in a piercing gaze, the broad vampire looked to the girl and frowned. A cage open!? Someone's neck was sure to be in his hands if a cage was open. "Of course come show me. We cannot have this thing shut down." with that money...his money gone to waste. Christian got up to follow the girl, a hungry gaze in his eyes.

He cast a glance down at the ring and chuckled...get 'em klaus. "You know..you're quite the woman. Why were you back there anyway?" the vampire asked, given a fang showing smile.

  • I cast a glance over my shoulder to him and grin softly. "It's not every day that I get to see a werewolf. I just had to sate my curiosity. Hopefully you don't mind..." I murmur and ease open the door for him. Hostile gazes of men and wolves alike resting upon the vampire as we entered. Perhaps it was simply a mutual hatred.

I begin to lead him to the cages at the back, the more dangerous creatures residing there I presumed for the chains grew noticeably thicker and cages were much more compact and secured.

"It was somewhere around here..." I purr as I lean over and test a cage before pausing to glance up at him. Surely if I pulled the gun now, he would be much too quick and possibly snap my wrist.. Or worse. I just needed to convince him to come closer..

"So how did you come across such a business?" I ask blatantly.

  • He followed her through the mist of hated vampires, here just for the game he supposed. She had took him into the room with the stronger wolves. It made sense if a cage was loose here..but Christian made sure of that...interesting.

As the woman tested the cages he leaned against the wall calmly, "I have always been fascinated by these dogs you see. I got my sister purposely turned into a werewolf since she was human. " the vampire banged him fist on a cage bar, making the gray wolf inside even more feisty, snarling and growling like a deranged beast.

"Then, I decided to become rich off of dog fights. Grew rather quickly. " Christian got up and took a few steps closer to the female, however his attention wasn't on her, but an ebony wolf in a cage beside her. "Maybe it's this one's that's lose that damn dog has been trying to get out for a while now.."

  • As his attention drifted to the snarling ebony mass, I gradually drew to my feet. My hands gliding into the tidy little purse with ease as I sucked in a sharp breathe and retrieved the pistol undetected. I hold it steadily in my teacup grasp before glancing once more to the werewolf in silence.

"Oh! It is this one I believe. See? The latch seems to have rusted over." I state from behind him. Only taking a moment to wearily look to the caged man in silence before returning my efforts to the vampire with new fervor. I had never been fond of any of these monsters yet I despised this torture. The disease itself was already painful yet most, upon contracting it through contaminated contact in animal form, lost their families, jobs, opportunities.

I wait patiently for him to turn as I gingerly press the barrel of the pistol to his chest. Other hand drifting to the stake. "I'm sure your sister would take pleasure in this." I purr as my delicate finger applies pressure to the trigger, rewarded with a sickening bang that bounced off the walls yet did not reach the others from the audience. Well... Hopefully not.
