How much would you pay?

Anyway. I've been thinking of selling my Arts™ for real money (on deviantArt, not here), because I'm a student who has no cash, lmao. I'm not sure if my art is good enough, though?
So, uh. Please tell me how much you'd pay for these, or if you think these aren't good enough to be sold for real money. Be honest, please, I won't get offended.

Though I've never paid for art with real money... so, uh.... $2?[/fancypost][/fancypost]

Whoa. Those are gorgeous. Okay, real money is hard. People like to underpay for art, and that sucks since it's basically a full time job. But if you go too high they won't pay at all, so of course it requires some adjustment. I'm not entirely sure how much time was put into these but I do know that they look really well done, especially that background on number two. They might sell for higher?? I'm not very good at pricing, but that's a general ballpark from what I've seen around.

    1) $3-$5
    2) $15-$20-$25??
    3) $10-$15
    4) $7-$12

  • It's actually hard to judge by these particular pictures. I don't know too much about the financial or artistic side of things, but as a consumer I think that some types of art sell better online than others. Like perhaps backgrounds or characters that people could use for any purpose, rather than specific scenes. But that's just me.

I think your biggest issue is that there are lots of sources online where people can find artists willing to do similar things for free. Like here, for example.

You have real talent, your backgrounds are beautiful (I'm crazy about the Northern Lights one) and you're great at shading, have you considered taking up drawing or painting? If art is your thing than perhaps you could try opening an Etsy shop or selling art locally or on Facebook?

If money ceases to be an issue in the future, many places online could use your talent. :)

However, I also agree with the prices Aureate listed when it comes to value.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 400px;]sorry if your not still looking for answers but

I think a good basic pricing method is pay by the type of art. So a sketch could be 10, a bust could be 15, full body could be 25. Or, similarly, lineart could be 10, flat colours could be 15, w/ shading could be 25, and a painting ~30. Those are just random numbers, but you probably get the idea.

As for those specific pieces, the first looks like it would be ~15, and the other three look like they could be about 20-35.

Don't be afraid to make your prices high, your art is gorgeous and definitely worth it.
