(True, but it's more interesting if they are. XD)
Peter opened his eyes to glance at Persephone as she knelt in front of him checking for injuries, "I'm fine, really," he said softly. He felt a tightening in his chest as Persephone mentioned his brother and the princess, "I-i don't know where they are, but I pray that they made it out safe," he said the pain apparent in his voice. He was grateful at least that his parents had been escorted away quickly, he made a mental note to thank all the valiant knights later from saving his parents from the bloodbath. As urged him to get up he was tempted to let out a groan, he didn't even want to think about the situation let alone move from the spot where he had collapsed on the floor. But she was right, soon enough the enemy would demolish these tunnel walls just as they had the ones in the throne room. He only hoped that the knights could stop the enemy before they turned the whole castle into dust. Peter forced himself to stand up as his brow furrowed at the sound of screams and angry yelling once more. His gaze softened when Persephone mentioned how afraid she was. He had been so worried thinking about his family that he hadn't even stopped to realize how the woman right in front of him might be feeling. He walked towards and wrapped his arms around her petite form allowing for her head to rest against his shoulder, he held her tight as if she were a liferaft in the endless black sea. "It's going to be alright, we're are going to get through this together. Okay?" he said softly hoping that he had provided her some reassurance even though he wasn't so sure himself. The Prince hardly knew what kind of situation they were in now, after what he had just witnessed in the throne he knew that their were more trials to come. Peter could only hope that the reinforcements would come soon, if there were any. For now it was just them against the world. He only hoped that he could be strong enough to protect Persephone from whatever dangers lay ahead for he knew the minute they stepped out of the tunnels their whole world would turn into chaos. He could only pray that they would make it out alive.

The feminine glanced down at her bleeding shoulder as he mentioned it, "I'm fine, it's just a scratch," she said firmly as she ripped a few more makeshift bandages from her blood-stained dress. She make sure to listen carefully as he told her what to do about the arrow shaft, she prayed that if she tried it that she wouldn't cause him more pain than he was already in. She cursed herself for not learning any basic medical training, all those singing and dancing lessons would be no good to her now. Violet winced as she noticed his breathing becoming more labored she just hoped that a fever wouldn't set in from the open wound. She inhaled a sharp breath as he mentioned the attackers, "I-i don't know what they are doing here and if they are even my family's men at all. Please believe when I say that I knew nothing of this, I would never try to endanger the lives of any of the people of your kingdom," she said her eyes meeting his. She trusted him to believe her but she couldn't say the same about her parents, she had no idea if they knew anything about the attacks at all or if they orchestrated it all from the beginning. She felt her heartbreak as he mentioned his sister and her death, she could tell from the pain in his voice how much she had meant to him. "Your'e not going to lose anyone else and I'm not losing you," she said softly as tears welled up in her own eyes also. She brushed a stray tear away as she inhaled a deep breath preparing herself as to what she was about to do. "Okay, keep talking to me. I'm going to try to get that arrow out of shoulder," she said sounding calmer than she actually felt. The fae forced her hands to stop shaking as she placed a hand on the arrow shaft and snapped it, the sound echoing like thunder in the quiet passageway. Violet pressed hard on the arrow so that it broke skin on the other side of Elias's shoulder allowing the shaft to come out cleanly. Blood quickly began oozing out the gaping wound as she tossed the bloody shaft aside her hands sticky with blood. She quickly grabbed the pile of bandages she had torn up and began tightly wrapping Elias's shoulder so that the blood could be stopped. Once she was done she placed the remainder of the bandages on the floor and wiped perspiration from her face as a slight feeling of nausea set in. "Are you alright?" she asked softly hoping that he hadn't gone unconscious from the sudden wave of pain although she was relieved that the arrow was out. Honestly, she couldn't believe what she had just done. She leaned against the stone wall beside Elias allowing the feeling of nausea to pass.

[ heh heh well then they can run into each other orrr?]

"I know I see," Persephone replied once he said he was fine. "I was just making sure," she added silently, waiting for him to get up, and nodded as he said he had no idea where everyone is but he hoped they were fine. "I hope so too," she commented quietly, looking up at him as he finally got up to his feet. Persephone had no idea how he was feeling right now but he had to be just as scared as her, and worried like crazy about his family. The servant didn't know what to say, really, she just knew they had to get away, but getting him to safety was going to be an issue. The castle was most likely crawling with the men...Her heart was racing in fear, and partially because she was in Peter's presence. The young woman jumped in surprised as he approached her and held her to him tightly. She took a moment before she slipped her arms back around him, burying her face in his neck. "Okay," she murmured, just glad she'd managed to find him and that he was alright and not lying in a pool of blood. "Just don't - don't let us get separated," she mumbled quietly and held onto him a bit tighter, before speaking up again. "What happened exactly?" she asked, but then paused when she heard yelling. Persephone pulled away from Peter and looked up at him. "You hear that?" she whispered, it sounded like someone was in pain, a lot of pain. "Yeah let's go," she kept hold of one of his hands and started pulling him down the hall through the passage.

    ❥Elias Whitethorn

Elias gave her an angry look as she said she was fine. "You're going to wrap it up when you're done with me, or I'm going to," he warned, though there wasn't much force in his voice. It was a little funny, that admist the pain and the fear at the moment, he still noticed how beautiful she was. And it wasn't just her looks, but how determined she was to help him, how worried. No one had cared that much in a while. "This is awful to say but I'm almost glad they stopped the wedding," he said, whispering quietly as she got the bandages together. She explained then, that she had no idea what was going on. "Of course I believe you," Elias replied, "I might not have known you long but I know you'd never go to lengths like this," he assured her and tried for a small smile though the pain was too much and it came out as a pained smile. "However, this does not look good for you, in the eyes of the rest of the kingdom...I just hope my father won't bring his wrath down," he had said and then took a deep breath as she came closer to work on getting the arrow out of his shoulder, in the way he had explained. He'd only nodded as he promised he wouldn't lose anyone, she wouldn't lose him. "I don't really know what else to talk to you about other than the fact all I can think about despite your messy dress is how absolutely beautiful you ar-" he cut himself off as he let out a yell when she pulled the arrow out. Oh it hurt worse than any wound he'd gotten before. After that one yell he forced himself to be quiet though as she wrapped up his shoulder tightly with the pieces of her dress. He kept breathing deeply, slumping against the wall behind him. He barely heard her when she asked if he was okay. "Well I'm not dead," he replied, peeking an eye open as she sat down beside him. "Thanks," he said, and looked over her bandaging skills. How long would it be before he could be properly cared for? Would he bleed out and die? It hadn't seemed to hit any fatal spots. "We are going to have to move," he said after a while. "We can hide out in the secret passages,"

Peter whipped his head around as he heard the cry of pain coming from around the corridor and quickly followed as Persephone tugged at his hand. He started walking at a fast pace down the hall careful to listen for any possible intruders that could step in their path. He prayed that the cry of pain he had heard was not anyone that he knew. As soon as he discovered the coast was clear Peter moved faster down the hall until in the darkness he could make out two figures. In the flicker candlelight he could make out the faces of his brother and the Princess. His eyes were immediately drawn to Elias's bandaged shoulder. "Elias!" he called letting go of Persephone's hand before running over to his brother. His eyes flicked towards the Princess for a moment but soon returned to his brother. He was certainly relieved that she was alright but his attention from more on his brother who he deduced was probably where the scream of pain had come from. He hoped that his brother's injuries were non-fatal because he knew any minute now the enemies could find them and he was in no position of leaving his brother. Thankfully it appeared his injuries were not close to his heart but still an injury was an injury. "Are you alright?" he asked his brother concern evident in his voice. He hoped that his parents had not suffered any injuries and of course there were still the attackers in the castle to worry about. He knew they had to find somewhere safe and soon.

Violet's eyes snapped open when she heard Elias's name being called and it was only a moment later that she was able to make out Peter's face in the gloom. She had a harder time recognizing the figure next him and then it came to her that the girl was one of the servants she had met. The fae couldn't help but wonder what the young woman was doing with Peter, did they know each other. Despite her question she kept silent as she scooped up a few of the discarded bandages. With her one hand she began clumsily wrapping her bleeding shoulder so at least it would be covered from any other infections, it wasn't her best bandaging job she supposed it had to do. She shifted against the wall as she watched Peter the concern evident on his face, she knew he must have been worried sick about his brother. And he thought nothing of you echoed a nasty voice in her head. She brushed the thought away after all family did come first and why would Peter care about her anymore now since she would probably exiled from the kingdom. The thought of leaving the kingdom and perhaps being somewhat responsible for the massacre sent her stomach roiling as she closed her eyes once again at the sick feeling in her stomach, the musty air of the passages hardly helped either. She hardly knew what she was going to do once all of this hiding was over and she was sure that the King and Queen wouldn't see her an innocent bystander. No, they would see her as a mole in the castle plus a traitor to the crown. She didn't even know if she could set things right again and of course her engagement to Peter was broken already. Of course Elias was still on her side but soon she would be summoned by her parents once again to married off to another man she hardly even knew. The cycle could never be broken.

    ❥Persephone Galathynius

Persephone had followed along quietly, her hand tightly in Peter's as they went to investigate the yelling. She had imagined it was going to be someone lying dead in the passageway because the bad guards had gotten in and were looking for the prince to kill him. So, she was slightly relieved that when they arrived, it was simply his brother and the princess that they found. Elias looked awfully injured, but he was alive. Peter headed right over to him, concerned for his family. She stood there awkwardly for a moment, unsure what to do while the two brothers spoke to each other. She glanced over at Violet, the princess who was struggling to put a bandage on her arm with one hand. Ah! She could help with that. Persephone shifted over. "I can tighten that for you if you'd like? My mother taught me how to bandage when I was younger," she offered (and depending on if Violet agrees --) and then adjusted the bandage, making it tighter for the princess so it would stop bleeding. Persephone held no grudges towards the princess for this marriage, because it was arranged and out of the women's hands. Plus, considering how she'd run that errand for a frantic Elias a few days ago, something told her the princess didn't share feelings for Peter. Persephone finished tying, her hands were shaking; she was still so scared in all of this. "Better?" she asked, and then glanced around the passages, listening for any of the guards. They needed to go and hide as soon as possible.

    ❥Elias Whitethorn

Elias heard footsteps down the hall and he tensed, slightly moving in front of Violet as to protect her, but thank the gods it was only his brother. "Peter," he breathed, sighing in relief at seeing his older brother had made it out and was completely fine, unharmed. He was with a younger woman, and he recognized her as the servant he'd asked to get a present for Persephone. Elias had also seen her a few times speaking with his brother, and he raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Peter came over to him, clearly concerned about his wellbeing. He was sure it looked bad, with all the blood over him and his bandaged shoulder. "Mm, I am perfectly fine. It's just a scratch," he chuckled, and shifted to try and stand. "But I am glad you're okay, I was worried," he huffed, and used the wall to try and push him to his feet. Elias noted the servant helping out Violet, and was grateful for the other women. "Who's the girl?" he asked his brother quietly, and leaned against the wall for support. He suddenly heard shouts down the opposite way, where Persephone and Peter had come through. "We have to go, now," he whispered, glancing at the two girls and then beginning to shuffle down the other end of the passage. "We have to use our secret tunnels," he added to Peter, knowing he'd understand.

Peter nearly breathed a sigh of relief when Elias said that he was okay. He had been so worried and would have never forgiven himself if Elias or his parents had gotten hurt, not that any of this was his fault but he still felt responsible for the safety of his family. He nearly smiled as he watched Persephone go help the Princess bandage her wound, even in a time of crisis Persephone still managed to spare a moment to helps others. He thanked whatever higher power there was that she was safe and hadn't been caught in the middle of the bloodbath. The Prince was also thankful that he had found her in the passageways because he would have been worried sick with the way they had left things. Perhaps when this was over things would change he could finally be happy with the woman that he truly cared for. He nearly reached out to help Elias as his brother struggled to stand but decided against it because he knew Elias would resent the pity. He was grateful that wound hadn't been too severe, for now they could still manage to make a quick getaway if they needed to. He turned towards his brother as he asked who the girl was, "That's Persephone, don't worry she's a friend," he said not bothering to indicate that she was also a servant, none of that mattered in a time like this. He knew his brother probably wondered why he had been with Persephone but that would be a story for another time. He turned quickly as he also heard shouts coming from the area where he and Persephone had just come from. Peter nodded as Elias mentioned the secret tunnels. "Wait before we go I just wanted to say thank you for keeping Violet safe, I know it was my duty but I'm really glad you were there," he said keeping his voice low before turning away so he could tell the two females that they were leaving. He hoped that the attackers would be slow to realize where they were located so that they would have time to slip away into the secret passages. "Alright time to go," he called to both Persephone and Violet trying to be as quiet as possible as not to alert the attackers where they were. He was about to extend his hand for Persephone to take the attackers came rushing into the area that they had been hiding in. "Well, well looks like found ourselves the royal jackpot boys," said one of the larger attackers his face obscured by the glittering black armor. The attacker turned to his men to issue an order, "Split up and take them hostage. It's time we get ourselves a little bit of ransom money," said the leader giving a dull laugh as he ordered his men forward. In pristine motion they had the group surrounded with their swords drawn to keep any of them from escaping.

Violet turned to see the girl who had come in with Persephone kneeling beside her to help with her messily wrapped shoulder. She couldn't help but notice the girl's hand shaking and she immediately felt sympathy for her. She knew how awful the situation must seem especially since the attacks were so random so at any minute they could be discovered. "Thank you, that is much better," said Persephone with a kind smile. She gave one of the girl's shaking hands a light squeeze, "Please don't be afraid. We'll make it out of this, I'm sure of it," said the feminine with her best reassuring smile trying to keep her frayed nerves in check. She couldn't let the girl see how terrified she was also, she thanked years of royal training to allow her face to appear to be a mask of calm. "I'm terribly sorry but I'm afraid I don't know your name. I'm Violet by the way," she said softly feeling guilty that she had seen the girl before but hadn't bothered to ask for her name. She was about to wait for a reply when she heard shouts coming from the passages, the attackers were surely close. The fae felt a pit of dread form in her stomach as she realized that they hardly had enough to time to escape to the next set of secret tunnels. She glanced over at Elias who appeared to be better but still seemed as if he was in a considerable amount of pain. Violet stifled a sudden gasp as a group of the attackers rushed into the area their armor glinting wickedly in the dim lighting. As one of them shouted orders she felt her heart pound furiously against her ribcage, they were trapped. As soon as the soldiers drew their swords in a circle around the group she felt a sense of hopelessness. The only way out of this would be to negotiate, for they could hardly take on a set of eight armed men. Perhaps if she mentioned her allegiance to her parents she could sort out this whole mess and they could let her friends go, alive. But these men hardly seemed the sort to use words instead of weapons and it was that methodology that struck a chord of fear in her heart.

Persephone while near Violet, strained to hear what the males were saying, though it was most likely none of her business. They were speaking too quietly anyways. She nodded slowly as Violet said they'd be okay, that they'd get out of it. Persephone wasn't so sure, she was still terrified but she nodded anyways and tried to calm down. It was hard though, her mix of worry for Peter and bring terrified for her own life, it was taking an emotional toll. She just wanted to get away and sit in his arms until it was all over and they could be okay again. Would they though ? What if most of the people in the castle were dead? Her fellow servants? She was torn from the thoughts as Violet asked for her name. "Persephone," she had managed to say before there were suddenly voices coming and Peter was telling them they needed to go. They didn't get to go anywhere before they were in the room surrounding them, and she did her best nor to panic and break out in hysterics. She would most likely be killed - she wasn't royalty. But the others were. She hugged herself, waiting for it to come, but then Elias was offering to show them the royal treasury in exchange for their lives.

Elias let out a sigh as he'd gotten to his feet and leaned against the wall, taking deep breaths to try and forget about the pain and instead focus on everyone else and trying to get them to safety. He nodded to Peter as he explained she was a friend of his - but he already technically knew who she was. There was something in the way he'd looked at her though that suggested something else was going on, but he could ask about that in a less dire time. When Peter thanked him for saving Violet, he nearly laughed. "I didn't save her for you, Peter," he admitted and glanced her way again, the look in his eyes saying it all. He'd explain that later too but they really needed to go. Elias had moved to get to Violet's side at the same time Peter had been reaching for Persephone's hand, but thats when all the men came rushing in with their swords drawn. His heart beat a little faster in fear, but at their words a plan was forming in his head. "If it's money you want," he began, "I can take you to the treasury. You'll get more than twice as much as whatever the ransom would be. Just...just let them go and take me, I will show you," he stepped closer to the one who'd spoken, the leader of the group, hands up in surrender.

Peter moved slightly to wrap a protective arm around Persephone, he could see the fear in her eyes as she stared out at the attackers. He couldn't help but wonder what sort of thought were running through her head, he dearly hoped she knew that he would protect her at all costs. The Prince wasn't the kind of man to leave his friends or the people he loved in any sort of situation. He wished he could provide some words of comfort but he knew if the attackers saw them talking it would only provoke them to use their swords. As Elias spoke of the Royal Treasury Peter nearly frowned at the thought of giving the fools all their gold but perhaps there was method to Elia's madness. Perhaps they could use the Royal Treasury as a diversion and trap the fiends in there until help could arrive swiftly. That was another thing that Peter wished for, at least a few guards to help them get out of this messy situation but for all he knew all the guards could have been slaughtered in the massacre. Either that or they were busy attending to his mother and father to get them to safety. It was frustrating feeling helpless and Peter loathed the feeling. He wished there was an easy way out of this but alas there was not. He waited for the guards to respond, perhaps all they saw in their thick skulls was the glittering palace gold or they could be the other kind of attackers the clever ones. He dearly hoped that they were all too blinded by the possibility of gold instead of holding them as possible political prisoners.

Violet dared not move an inch closer to Elias as she forced herself to stand her ground. This was one circumstance where she could not appear weak or feeble, she had to brave for herself and for her friends. She wondered if the men even knew her true identity, if they were truly her father's men then they certainly would. With their armor hiding their faces the fae could hardly tell if their emotions gave way to recognition. As Elias spoke of the Royal Treasury she wondered if the attackers would fall for such a trick as a pile of glittering money but if they were true trained assassins they surely would have other motives. A chill went up her spine as she thought of what their other motives might be, were the attackers sent to the castle on a mission to kill or was it all for money? Only their next reply would tell their true motives. The leader barked a short laugh as Elias spoke of the money, "Oh that's rich little princeling, thinking you can weasel your way out of the situation with just a few bags of coin. You don't think that we have a benefactor paying us more than you can ever match? Your luck has officially run out," he said with a malicious smile. "Now, shall we get on with our little hostage operation?" he said with a flick of his hand signaling the men to grab the small little band. Within moments Violet felt a large pair of hands grab her arms and twist them painfully behind her back. She bit her lip hard to keep from crying out in pain as the wound on her shoulder began bleeding once more. She could only imagine how much pain Elias was in as they seized him also. In a matter of seconds, they had them all captured. Violet knew that it was no use to struggle no matter how much she screamed or kicked no one would hear her. It was just time to accept her fate unless one of her companions had another plan.
(Any plot ideas now that they are captured? Or we could always have them escape too?)

[maybe once they're out of the tunnels and out of the open, elias (despite being injured) and peter can pull something, then the girls help and they get away maybe out of the castle???? and they get help from the village ideeekk lol]

Persephone glanced at Peter as he moved an arm around her protectively. It was a bold move for the situation they were in, and especially since well, his fiance was over there. She was glad though, she had some sort of comfort. She felt like she was going to throw up at any second, she was terrified and did not want to die like this, trapped in the dark passageways where no one would find her for days. Persephone was truly sure that she was going to be killed, discarded and the other three would be taken off since they were more valuable than a lowly peasant. She was shaking still, slightly though she tried not to show it. Her eyes were watering and yet she was keeping the sobs, the crying inside so as not to bring more attention to herself, bring her death closer. Instead she leaned against Peter, the only person, the only thing keeping her head somewhat on her shoulders. She wanted to talk to him - tell him how much he meant to her just in case she couldn't, but she was frozen still so that she couldn't do anything but stand there.
Persephone shut her eyes tightly as Elias's plan failed, and the men didn't care for more money, they had plenty waiting for them. Before she knew it they were taking Peter away from her, and also grabbing her, forcing her hands behind her back. The other prince yelled out so painfully, and Persephone could see Violet was in pain, but she focused on Peter only, not wanting anything to happen to him. Tears fell faster now, and her chest moved as she let out some cries. Persephone didn't struggle, she let them tie her down with the others. At least her head was still attached to her body...

Elias was putting his whole life, all their lives on this one request. If he could save the three of them, he'd be fine with being taken, or even killed, if it meant the others were safe. But it seemed like these men already had enough money in the bag to have come to the castle and attack. Though, he wondered who possibly could have so much money to pay off the men. "Who is your benefactor? Who is doing all this? I refuse to believe the royal fae court would endanger the lives of the court that their future queen was marrying to, endangering the princess herself," he grumbled, not giving up though that Violet was this princess, he just spoke it in general. "Who is behind all of this?" he asked again, but then watched as the men came at them all, to grab them and bind them and take them away somewhere. His eyes went to Violet first, then his brother, and Persephone who was on the verge of a breakdown. But Violet- he could see her arm bleeding, but he forgot pretty much everything at that point as he was harshly grabbed, and the pain in his arm was too much. Elias didn't remember screaming, he just remembered his sight going black for a few moments, he was unable to hear anything. After a few moments his vision came back in splotches and he was breathing hard, his shoulder in unbearable pain. Where were they going to take them?

Peter winced as Elias let out a cry of pain from his wounded shoulder being twisted. The sound echoed off the walls as Peter struggled against the guard's iron grip. He knew it was no use to struggle for if he did then he would end up with a sword through his heart. He tried meet Persephone's eyes one more time in a silent message to tell her that he would be with her even if they were separated. He could already tell that it was the attackers's plan to separate them all because it was less of a chance of a rebellion. The Prince desperately wished he could run to Persephone and protect her from all harm that came her way but alas he could not because before he knew it he was being forced in the opposite direction. The point of the sword pressed into his back as the guard forced him to walk towards one of the exits, his hands had been tied so there was no way to throw a defensive punch. He only hoped that Elias would not attempt any struggle for her could already tell that his brother was in great pain. The Prince prayed that the attackers were fools enough not to notice Elias's pain but if they did Peter feared that they would pray on his weakness. His thoughts turned to Persephone and he was already worried even though that they had only parted moments ago. He wondered if they would be in the same method transport or if they would go to separate locations altogether. That was another question Peter had yet to answer, who was the benefactor. The attackers hadn't responded to Elias's question nor did he think they would of but he wished that they would have offered some sort of hint. He couldn't imagine who hated his family this much that they would wish them all dead. It was a very dangerous predicament indeed. He thanked the heavens that his parents were safe at least. He hoped that they had at least been notified that him and Elias were missing and perhaps there was even a search party looking for them at this very moment.

Tears pricked Violet's eyes as she hard Elias's scream of pain as his wound was opened once more. She desperately wished she was strong enough to fend off the guards and shield Elias from further pain but she could hardly move plus the guard was five times her size. The fae glanced over at Persephone and could see the fear in the young woman's eyes, at least they had each for now. She only hoped that the attackers wouldn't target Persephone due to the fact that she wasn't royalty. She imagined that kidnapping the princes was the attackers plan all along and the young women were only the surprise to their plan. The feminine nearly called out as Peter and Elias were pushed the opposite way but she remained silent a tear slipping down her pale cheek. She had to force herself to not show any weakness on her exterior but inside she felt herself crumbling. She could only hope that they would rescued before they left the castle to make their getaway. Surely, they could all manage to escape being four people but with the guards skills she doubted they had a very high chance. She could only start thinking of some sort of plan to escape the guard's wrath. Her mind drifted to their talk of the benefactor, she couldn't imagine who it might be. She dearly hoped it was not one of her kin either for then she would be mixed up with all the treason. It seemed impossible that her family would do such a thing, after all she had never seen them harbor any specific hatred towards the royal family. After all it was her father and mother who had arranged the marriage.
(Alright plot twist time. I'm ready for the ideas. I haven't thought of any but I will try to think of some.)

  • The thing about persephone doesn't really have to do with what's going on right now though it was going to be for later

So as for right now what is gonna happen, before I post anything and just get us stuck. Have castle guards show up and save the day?

The post was edited 1 time, last by galathynius ().

  • Yes that sounds good then we'll have to have everyone deal with the fall out. I was thinking that the King could blame Violet for the attack and force her out of the castle possibly. As for Persephone and Peter I think they should grow closer since the engagement is broken off. Maybe that forbidden kiss can happen sometime soon.... ;)

Persephone couldn't understand the look Peter was giving her, he was trying to communicate mentally but she only got that he obviously wanted to be with her. She felt it to. She didn't know they were going to get separated though, so when the boys began being pulled away in another direction she started to struggle. "No," she said, but then the men holding her tightened their grip, and it hurt, oh it hurt. She bit her lip and went along, being quiet. She looked over at Violet, at least she wasn't completely alone, but she'd rather much be near Peter to know that he was okay. Persephone took in a deep breath, trying to prevent herself from breaking out into hysterics. That was when she heard voices and footsteps running down the hall towards them. "There they are, like the prince said," they had just come in the direction if where the princes were taken, having been sent by the other two to come rescue the girls. A fight broke out then, and it seemed pretty even, but these foreign guards were really good. Persephone grew bold, and confident suddenly, and went and kicked the back leg of one of the men, and he went crashing to the ground, where one of the palace guards finished him off. The fight was brief but their guards won and Persephone let out a sigh of relief. "Where are the princes?" She demanded as they cut her and Violet free. Once she was no longer restrained she ran down the hall to where she had seen them take Peter and Elias.

Elias was extremely frustrated his questions went unanswered. Usually he could talk pepole out of things - with his wit or his charm depending on the situation, but they were stuck now. His arm burned, his whole arm now and he felt like he was going to throw up or pass out from the pain. His vision was blackening, and he could feel the blood thickening at his shoulder again. But he was conscious, awake. For now at least. If he didnt get serious medical help soon, he'd be as good as dead. However, it seemed the world was on their side today, as a group of men, their own palace guards came rushing down the hall. "Prince Peter and Prince Elias!" They exclaimed and rushed over, angry, swords drawn, charging at the men. "Down the hall!" Elias yelled. "Get Violet, and the other woman there please," was what he said as he collapsed to his knees once the men let go to fight the palace guards. And then he finally threw up, choking on air struggling to breathe, to see clearly. "Peter?" He called out, wanting to make sure his brother was okay. We're the guards winning? Losing? He couldn't see - everything was so dizzy and blurry anyways. Sleep sounded like a very good idea right then

Peter was about to accept his fate when he saw a troop of guards coming down the hall. The palace guards turned and saw them quickly rushing to the Prince's aid and their captors soon fled from the site. The Prince glanced over at his brother who seemed to be in great pain, he gritted his death thinking about he would make their captors pay for what trauma they had caused to his brother. His eyes darted down the hall hoping to catch a glimpse of the women to see if they were okay. He turned suddenly when he heard his brother violently throwing up behind him. As Elias collapsed on the ground Peter knelt beside him and gripped his hand. His brother's face looked as pale as a ghost and he seemed to be slipping into unconsciousness. Peter squeezed his brother's hand tighter, "Elias! Stay with me, please. You have to listen to me you can't go to sleep, not now. Please just talk to me, you have to fight through this. I'm here brother," he said his voice pleading as he watched Elias struggle the pain apparent on his face. He wanted to slam his fist into a wall he was so frustrated there was absolutely nothing he could do for his brother in the moment. Peter hated being so helpless as his brother lay struggling. God, if only they hadn't gotten into this whole mess. Perhaps if he had done things differently, there was so many what ifs. His eyes searched Elias's face for any signs of a break from the pain but there was none. "Come on Elias, stay with me," he said tears gathering in his eyes.

"They went that way, miss," said one of the guards as he pointed in the direction of the Princes. Not needing anymore motivation, Violet started running towards where the guard had pointed motioning for Persephone to come with her. She barely felt the pain in her shoulder as she kept running her footsteps echoing down the hallway. As she came to a slower pace two figures came into her field of vision, she recognized Peter but she couldn't tell who it was on the ground. Her heart stopped for a moment as she realized it was Elias. She wanted to call out his name but she held her tongue as she ran towards the two of them coming to a halt as she knelt opposite of Peter. Her hand flew to her mouth as the tears started spilling down her cheeks. "Oh God, what have I done?" she whispered as she stared at Elia's face in shock. It nearly physically hurt her to see him in such pain. The feminine felt her heart beating painfully against her rib cage as with shaking hands she grabbed Elias's other hand. This is all your fault, you are the cause of his suffering whispered a voice in her head. The thought it made the tears fall faster, her vision starting to blur. "Please Elias, please be alright. I need you," she said softly her voice shaking as she watched him struggle to keep his consciousness. She couldn't help but wonder why fate was so cruel as to have such a thing happen to a man that she cared for. Perhaps she was being punished for not loving Peter. She prayed that Elias would make it out of this for if he did not she feared she would never forgive herself.

    ❥Persephone Galathynius

Persephone didn't need to be told twice, she bolted right after Violet, desperately wanting to make sure both Peter and Elias were okay. She was almost thankful Peter was uninjured, but even though she barely knew Elias - he had tried to sacrifice himself for them, so he was definitely a good guy. She knew if something happened to him, Peter would be completely devastated. Which was why when the girls entered the room with Elias on the floor, Peter looking desperate to save his brother, her heart fell. Persephone went right over to Peter's side, no questions, and put her hand on his shoulder for comfort. He was right, Elias had to stay awake. Her eyes drifted to his arm, blood still seeping through from his shoulder wound. Persephone moved over and started ripping up more bandages from her own dress, and fixing the ones he had, tightening them up, and applying pressure with her hands to attempt to get the bleeding to stop. She wasn't sure if it was his bleeding causing him to be woozy, or the amount of pain.

Elias didn't know when he had gotten on his back on the floor. Hadn't he just been sitting? He had his eyes squinted, as if the light was too bright, but there was no bright light. Someone had grabbed his hand, he made that out as Peter. He was saying something to him, stay awake? Stay with him? Well he didn't want to go anywhere. Elias grunted in response, and coughed a bit, trying to let his brother know he was okay but he couldnt. Suddenly there was another person grabbing his hand, and there was a softer voice, sounding extremely upset. "Fine," he managed to get out, at an attempt to say he was fine. Elias moved to try and sit, but there was pressure on his wound on his shoulder and he hissed through clenched teeth. A few seconds later and there were guards coming back to the group, and they saw the state of their prince. "The intruders have killed our healer, we need to get him to the apothecary in the village," one of the men said and reached forwards to help the prince up, and get him out of there.

Peter felt a light touch on his shoulder and he nearly sighed with relief when he realized it was Persephone. He was thankful at least that she appeared unharmed. The Prince nearly shivered at the thought of how they might not have been rescued. If the guards hadn't come at the exact moment that they did, he feared that Elias wouldn't have made it. He still feared for Elias safety as he glanced at the oozing shoulder wound. He was grateful at the least that the arrow was out of Elias's shoulder but with such force to the wound it appeared the bleeding was going to be hard to stop. He watched Persephone wrap more bandages around Elias's arm. He thanked his lucky stars that she was here for she probably had the most medical experience out of all of them combined. The fresh bandages helped but it was apparent that they need a professional like the apothecary in the village, which right now seemed like quite a distance. The Prince wondered where his mother and father were and if they knew of Elias's unstable condition. Surely if they knew they would come and comfort their son? "Yes, let's go and we must hurry," said Peter firmly when one of the guards mentioned the apothecary. He quickly shifted to his brother's side as the guard attempted to help Elias up. "Can you walk Elias?" he asked quietly wondering if the blood loss was causing his brother to become weaker.

Violet pressed the heels of her hands to her eyes as she attempted to stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks. Just watching Elias struggle was nearly physically painful. She was grateful when Persephone helped tie new bandages on Elias's shoulder. God knows she probably did a better job than Violet herself could ever do. As Elias tried to say he was fine she nearly cringed, but you're not fine and this is all my fault she thought bitterly as he attempted to stand. She didn't even know if an apology was enough. It was true that Elias didn't blame her for the attack but inevitably she did blame herself. Plus it the intruders were probably her family's men and just that fact made her tied to this whole mess. Even though she hadn't hurt a hair on anyone's head she was still going to be to blame. She knew at least the King and Queen would not let her be without scrutiny and she was almost positive that they had noticed her family crest on the men's armor as well. She was tempted to bolt but she would never do such thing with Elias being so injured plus if she ran the kingdom would probably view it as her guilt of what happened. Violet moved so that she could be at Elias's side in case he need any support. The fae hardly knew if he could walk let alone travel to the village which seemed so far away now. She wished she could pretend that this day never happened that she could just turn back the clock to that moment where Elias was telling her that he wanted to run away. Of course the attack had already been planned so turning back the clock would do nothing to stop the feeling of misery. There was deep ache in her heart at seeing Elias hurt like this, she knew he was a fighter and would make it through but she couldn't help feeling the guilt set in.

    ❥Persephone Galathynius

[I am going to time skip a little to them getting to the apothecary to make things easier]

Persephone, once they came over and lifted Elias, moved to stand closer to Peter. She was ready to be there for him if and when he needed her. He needed to be there for his brother though, help him, and she understood that. Persephone was doing her best to ignore her own feelings, the shock she felt, how badly she was still so scared and desperately wanted to sleep, maybe forget. It was all for his sake, to not burden the group with so much. But she truly was tired. Persephone heard one of the men speak then, updating Peter on everything. "We are still fighting them, but there are more of us than them. Your parents are safe, and once you are all safe we will send word to the king and queen regarding your status," they said. Elias at that time was attempting to stand, but could not, and two of the guards helped carry him out of the castle. There were sounds of swords clashing and shouts in the distance, but they were brought out to a hay wagon, most likely one used for farms. They carefully placed Elias down, and everyone else climbed in. On the way Persephone fell asleep, and didn't wake up until they got to the apothecary's house. The older woman was shocked to have so many members of royalty in her house but she immediately went to work on Elias. Persephone found a place to sleep, and lay down on the somewhat comfortable bed, curling in on herself to try and sleep.

    ❥Elias Whitethorn

There were too many sounds, to many people, too much light. Elias forced his eyes shut, taking deep breaths. Oh he wanted to sleep. It was the only thing his body could think of. Sleep. It would he so easy to slip away now. But Peter and Violet both said he couldn't. It was not a good idea to sleep. He might not wake up. But the darkness, the temptation. He opened his eyes again and things were slightly clearer, though he still felt like throwing up. Elias glanced at his brother, he looked so worried. He looked at Violet, and the guilt eating at her, it hurt him too. He didn't want her to feel like that anymore. Someone asked if he could stand, Peter? Elias tried but his legs felt numb, like jello even. Soon he was being carried, brought to a wagon that smelled like manure. Then before he knew it there was a flowery smelling old lady working on his shoulder. He didn't feel the pain now, but there was a burning sensation, a non painful one. Elias finally let himself close his eyes and rest - he was going to be okay, he could tell he was being healed. But now he could rest. The thought of his parents came into his head, if they were okay or not. Someone had said they'd tell his parents they were okay, but he couldn't remember when or who had. Things were still fuzzy. Elias eventually slipped into an uncomfortable sleep.

(Sorry I've been inactive, I was busy with my birthday and school.)
Peter watched the guards carry his brother's limp body into the home of the apothecary. He could only imagine how shocked the women must be to have not one but two members of the royal family show up at her door. Even if she wasn;t the royal healer, the Prince could tell the woman's work was just as good. He just hoped that she would be able to help Elias before any sort of infection spread in. "Thank you for doing this," Peter said gratefully to the woman knowing that he could not repay her for saving his brother's life. Peter ran his fingers through his tousled hair as he backed away from the healer to give her space. He glanced behind his shoulder only to see Persephone curled up on the bed sleeping. The sight brought a gentle smile to his face and he was glad that she could get some rest before they returned to the castle. Peter went to sit at the foot of the bed as he rested his head against the rough stone wall feeling the exhaustion set in. Yet he knew he could sleep now not when his brother needed him, he knew that Elias was in good hands but he still wanted to stay awake in case his brother awoke. Plus there would be plenty of time to sleep once Elias was safe and healthy. Vivid images of the attack at the castle filled Peter's head as he tried to close his eyes to get them out of his head but they still were embedded on his mind. He knew he would never forget the day, he only hoped that he could find the b*stards who ordered this wicked action.

(Timeskip back to the castle or no?)
Violet watched as the old woman began to work on Elias's shoulder and she was grateful he was getting professional medical attention instead of her hastily trying to wrap bandages around his wound. She sat down on one of the small wooden chairs so that she could have a good view of Elias just in case he needed anything. It was only until Elias slipped into a fitful sleep did she realize how fatigued she truly was. She glanced around the small cottage only to see Persephone curled up on the bed and Peter at the foot. It made her happy that Peter had someone to lean on in this troubled time, for she knew that she couldn't bring herself to comfort him. After all he probably despised her now knowing that it was her family that called for the attack. She had always known that Peter wasn't hers to love ever since that fateful night at the ball she knew that Peter's heart lay elsewhere. She was just grateful that he had found as genuine as a girl as Persephone. As for her and Elias, she hardly knew where they stood. For how could she when one moment he was asking her to run away with him and the only he was barely clinging on to consciousness. She knew it would be better if she left soon but she could bear to leave Elias in such of condition she figured she'd wait until he was at least better. She also knew if she left now that the King and Queen would view her as a traitor and she couldn't allow herself to be put in that position. The fae hardly knew how she was going to explain herself for she had blood on her hands too even if she hadn't harmed a soul. The thought caused her to shiver as she tucked a piece of her dark hair behind her ear. She knew that she could never stay and that she would probably be forced into exile just like the rest of her family would be. The mere thought of never seeing Elias again brought tears to her eyes, she just hoped he could get better soon so that she could say her goodbyes in person.
