He smelled faintly of Thunderclan, but that was about it. In reality, the male kit had been left by his brother, Smallpaw, who had gone to Thunderclan. Their parents, dead from an unfortunate encounter with rogues, had told them to find a new home before their death. So, in the tiny basket, beside the small kit, sat a note that read,
    Dear westeros,
    This is my brother, Fireflykit. Our parents our dead from an attack, and they told us to find a new home. I can't stay here, but Firefly should. You guys seem like friendly people. Please take care of him. Never tell him about me or our parents, until he's older, please. He needs a new family.

    The older serval guessed it would be wise to get the young thing back to the nearest city, staying out in the open was not wise.

    Slade was silent at first, staring down at himself after Fireflykit mentioned his fur and the fact he looked different. Steadily his one eyed gaze returned to the youngster.
    "I'm a serval, it's a type of African feline. And my fur is fine, it's meant to be golden with black spots."
    A part of him wanted to drop the basket off a cliff in order to avoid the questions, but yet he found Fireflykit's presence to be oddly charming.
