Cornpaw sat and thought in silence for a moment. " I'm not sure. It could be warning of evil plots. Or of Shimmerwater betraying the clan by seeing him. Or of evil kits to be born to them. Or anything really. " He mewed wisely. " I believe that if we could watch Ink without him being near us, we could find out what this prophecy means. My aunt gave me this prophecy. She wouldn't have warned me about nothing. " He continued. " But I'm not sure what it means. " He wrapped his golden tail around his paws and looked at the moon. Then his blue gaze drifted to his mentor. " I'm not sure. " This time he just barely whispered it.

Dawnheart turned towards Mazestar and whispered A know it all already a perfect medicine cat she said with humor than said seriously I don't think that Ink should be able to join the clan
-
Cornpaw nodded in agreement. " At least not until we figure this prophecy out. Keeping him here would be good though. Just not as a warrior. " He mewed. The golden tom flicked his ear.
-
and put him in a separate den as Shimmeringwater
-
He flicked his ear. " Yes. " he agreed. " For sure. "
-
"Now try it again, but stay in that position and keep yourself as still as possible," Sparkfire mewed."Ok," Batpaw's eyes shone. She crouched down and kept so still that you couldn't hear her breathing.
-
She nodded, "I always trust my medicine cats. But where should he sleep?"
-
Cornpaw thought it over. " Our den. It's the best place for me and Dawnheart to keep an eye on him. " He mewed at last.
-
I agree with Cornpaw she said she was letting him act like the medicine cat to see if a medicine cat position was right for him
-
" Oh, and Shimmerwater should be kept busy. " He continued. " Other wise she'll want to spend all her day in our den. "
-
"we should find a way to make Ink fail in hunting too" Dawnheart said " that way no one will want him to join the clan"
-
" We could scare all the prey off... " He mewed. " Or tell him the worst possible place to find prey. " Cornpaw thought heavily.
-
"Ok," Batpaw's eyes shone. She crouched down and kept so still that you couldn't hear her breathing.
"Good. Now, try moving forward." Sparkfire was a bit nervous about mentoring an apprentice when he had just become a warrior.
-
I have an Idea let's put poppy seeds in his fresh kill and he will be to sleepy to hunt
-
Cornpaw nodded. " That could work.. " He said. He quickly went over the herbs in his head. Poppyseeds were for... aha! Pain and sleep as well as shock!
-
What are poppyseeds for Cornpaw Dawnheart asked
-
" Pain, sleep, and sometimes shock. " He recited his thoughts to his mentor, holding his head high. A good first day as Medicine cat apprentice.
-
"Or" Mazestar said alittle evily, "If we realy want him to fail, we put death berrys in his food"

-
Shimmerwater darted out of where she was hiding. "I don't think that's a good idea," she hissed. She nervously unsheathed her claws. Ink was too important to her than the position of deputy. She didn't care what Mazestar did to her, except banish her from the Clan.
-
Mazestar looked at her and said angerly, "This is a private meating! Leave at once. I don't care if your the deputy."
