-Superhuman Speed: Quicksilver has the ability to run at extremely high, supersonic speeds, thanks to HYDRA’s experiments with the Scepter. As he sprints he generates a trailing aura of blue and white energy currents.
-Extreme Force Generation: By building up enough force and momentum in his body, Quicksilver can deal very powerful strikes, often propelling objects or people several feet. While this does not enhance his strength, it compensates for his normal physical strength by greatly increasing the force behind his attacks.
-Improved Thermal Homeostasis: Maximoff can resist the side effects of moving at these speeds, such as friction, reduced oxygen, and kinetic impact.
-Increased Metabolism: Pietro has a hyper-accelerated metabolic rate, enhancing his ability to move and act while also decreasing the chance that attacks or injuries would incapacitate him.
-Superhuman Reflexes: Maximoff’s increased speed also augments his reaction time, allowing him to react to danger and events much faster than a normal human. His reflexes are so fast that they even allow him to catch a bullet in mid-air. (personality) Quicksilver is a cocky, arrogant, impatient, tenacious, and quick-tempered person. These qualities are partially a side effect of thinking and acting faster than everyone around him. He needs to be highly independent. He does not take orders from others, not even from the leader of the Hounds or the guards, and he enjoys getting his way. He gets childish and moody should he be forced to do something that he does not like. He can be self-centered, as he does not usually pay attention to the feelings of others. Although this habit of not paying attention to feelings isn’t really deliberate… he’s simply obtuse and occasionally will miss social cues. Such as, at times, he is too trusting. He has noble intentions and he likes to think that other people are just as honorable as he is, so he doesn't see when someone is taking advantage of him, or when he is being double-crossed.
Quicksilver ventures out and is a go-getter, often leading the way for others. He has an upbeat and magnetic personality that often entices others to follow his lead, which he is pleased to do. He will always look out for his friends with care and generosity, and will fearlessly protect them, should the need arise. He encourages people with his natural optimism. If confronted, Quicksilver will viciously fight back with his aggressive nature. He can easily lose his judgment in a fit of temper. He will pick a fight with anyone who disrespects him or his friends, or anyone who questions his leadership.
Maximoff likes to take risks and has an intrinsic quality of bravery. He seeks adventure and is quickly bored with routine. He is more than willing to take a gamble to follow his dreams and goals. However, if he is not immediately successful in his endeavors, he will be quick to lose interest. Quicksilver is sometimes enthusiastic to start new things, but not to finish them. This is due to his low tolerance of boredom and his lack of patience. Although he has courage and will sacrifice himself for the people he loves, he does not seem to know when bravery crosses the line to stupidity.
Honesty is one of his most prominent traits. He will not lie to get what he wants, and he insists upon a fair fight. Of course, he is naturally a terrible liar on the rare occasion that he does try to get away with something devious. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is startlingly direct with other people. He despises mind-games and is baffled when other people try to be aloof. He calls a shot as he sees it, despite however much his judgment may hurt someone else’s feelings.
Sarcasm is his native tongue, or at least that’s what Pietro says. Because of a superiority complex and a strong competitive nature, he is arrogant. And when he feels high-and-mighty, he mouths off to whomever he feels like, regardless of the amount of trouble his vulgar comments may get him in. He harmlessly teases his friends and will crack a joke in an awkward or sad situation. He loves to laugh and enjoys making others laugh.

(history) Pietro Maximoff was born in the Eastern European country of Sokovia along with his twin sister, Wanda. At the age of ten, while having dinner with his family, a mortar shell hit their apartment building, killing Maximoff’s parents and trapping him and his sister. A second shell hit the apartment but did not go off; the Maximoff twins were left trapped under the rubble for two days, staring at the unexploded shell and reading the name on it, Stark Industries.
This horrifically traumatic experience gave Pietro a great hatred for America; at the same time, he became highly protective over Wanda. They often took part and would lead protests against S.H.I.E.L.D. What Pietro did not realize was that the riots were being orchestrated by HYDRA, who had taken up residence in Sokovia and were using these riots to cover up their illegal experiments. The leader of the HYDRA forces, Wolfgang von Strucker, approached Pietro and Wanda, offering them the opportunity they needed to free their country from war. Pietro managed to convince his sister to accept. While the other volunteers did not survive the experiments derived from the scepter’s power, Pietro and his sister experienced drastic changes. The scepter unlocked latent supernatural powers within Pietro, granting him the ability to move at superhuman speeds. That was the moment he became Quicksilver.
Eventually he and Wanda decided to leave HYDRA in their desire to re-explore the outside world with their newfound superpowers. Of course, the HYDRA agents strictly forbade them from doing this, but it’s hard to stop a guy with super-speed and his sister who’s telekinetic. Once they returned to Sokovia, Quicksilver provided for them by becoming a thief. Their happiness didn’t last long. The HYDRA agents, who didn’t like being shown up, were thirsty for revenge. They managed to track the Maximoffs, and, for a handsome sum of money, sold the information of their whereabouts to S.H.I.E.L.D. And that’s how the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver wound up in Boarwood Maximum Security Prison.
For the first time in their lives, the twins were separated when they arrived at the prison. Immediately Wanda was taken to the Nightmare Islands, apparently to await further testing of her mysterious powers. Pietro, having heard the rumors of what goes on there, was devastated. He never saw her again and fears he never will. For that reason, he is trying his hardest to rebel against the guards at Boarwood, in hopes that they’ll move him to the Nightmare Islands as punishment so he can reunite with his sister.
