Alex nodded pulling some money from his wallet and leaving enough to cover the bill and give some as a tip. He then muttered, "Come on." His eyes darting to the older man who was still watching them carefully.
-
Peyton nods and follows him, frowning.
-
Once outside Alex seemed to relax a bit but kept moving. His senses on overload as he tried to make sure they weren't followed without turning around.
-
Peyton frowns, looking at him. She bites her lip, gazing around.
-
"Sorry about breakfast." Alex said sadly as he jammed his hands into his pockets.
-
"No, it's quite alright." Peyton says with a small smile.
-
"I shouldn't have let my headache get in the way."He said but felt eyes on his back but didn't dare turn around.
-
"It's fine." She says sincerely.
-
He nodded and asked, "So, we have the rest of the day... I just want to take something for this headache and we can hang out for the whole day."
-
"Okay." She says with a small smile.
-
He led her to his home only a block away and entered it heading to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom and "took" two advil. He glanced out the window as he rejoined her on the step of his home. "Ready?" He smiled. His eyes scanned the area and he came to the conclusion that it was all just in his head... right?
-
"Yeah. Are you alright?" She asks gently.
-
"Of course. Why?" He asked trying to play it off as confusion.
-
"No reason." Peyton replied calmly, glancing at up at him.
-
"There has to be a reason you asked." Alex said pointing out there had to be something she wanted to say to him.
-
Peyton frowns a bit, glancing at him. "Oh, well, I dunno, you just seem... Off, like you uneasy about something.."
-
"How so?" He asked trying to keep himself looking confused, even though he knew fully well why he was off today.
-
Peyton shakes her head. "Nothing." She says, looking around, frowning.
-
"You sure?" He asked, he tried to hide his caution as they headed down the street.
