Arin couldn't help but laugh as he jolted awake, and he stared down at the male as he rolled over onto his stomach to get away. "Shaking doesn't always work. And kisses, you have to earn those," he replied, and waited patiently as he got up off the bed. There were clothes in the room for Alex, and he assumed there was a pair back in his own room too, but he didn't want to walk across the hall yet. Plus he wasn't sure if he could, which was why he was still sitting on the edge of Alex's bed. He was slightly confused as Alex told hik not to complain if he watched him change, so of course he looked to see what he meant. And when he saw the bruise he let out a small gasp. "Alex" he said angrily through clenched teeth. His side looked awful, badly bruised. The sorcerer frowned, eyes following him as he returned to the bed.
And Alex started reaching out for him, Arin moved out of the way purposefully. Once he was done squirming around he shifted, moving slowly before he basically climbed on top of Alex and pulled the ends of his shirt up to see the bruise again. "Why didn't you say anything about this?" he demanded angrily, and then ran his hand over the bruise for a moment. He didn't heal him, because there was somewhere else they could go to both fix this - which was the healing baths. Arin was looking at him, with a mixture of anger and worry. Then he rolled off Alex and swung his feet over the edge of the bed, standing up slowly. His back hurt a whole lot, and so did his ribs. "I don't want what happened to me to happen to you, you passing out in front of me," he glanced back at Alex, "So let's go, now, Alexander," he was being slightly demanding but he didn't really care. He wasn't going to take no for an answer either.

Alex had heard his name growled when he had taken off his shirt, he was in for it now but that did not keep him for reaching for Arin that little bit he did before settling back down. Alex was surprised by the lack of demanding voice telling him to get up until he felt the weight of the other male suddenly sitting on his back and pulling his shirt up. He was a bit caught off guard by that considering he had not heard the other moving before that. He flinched when a hand ran down his side and he could not hold back the low growl that left his lips "Ain't that bad, I didn't want you to worry" he spoke into the pillow waiting for the weight to be lifted off of him. It was but the dominant/demanding tone that came next gave his heart a kick-start and he glanced up to see the other male glaring at him. "Fine" he muttered crawling out of the bed and standing up, sure his side was sore but he could move fine other than that he gave another stretch before he walked over to Arin.

Alex did not reach out for him, the male looked mad no telling how he would act, he just stood beside him with his eyes on the ground. "It looks worse than it is" he muttered with a little pout. He knew the whole practice what you preach thing but if Arin got worried he could, and would, exhaust himself trying to fix it. "I didn't want you to use your magic and exhaust yourself more then needed" he said next looking up to see if speaking was helping or hurting. So he had damaged the chances of them doing the same thing the next night Alex just pouted and waited for Arin to lead wherever they were going, the dull soreness in his side told him that Arin had not done anything so he was glad for that in his own odd way.

Arin rolled his eyes as Alex said he didn't want him to worry, he didn't want him to use his magic and heal him. "I might have healed you yesterday, if you'd shown me, but it's the beginning of the day and I'd like to get through it," he said and grunted a bit as he stepped forwards. Oh he really could not wait to get to the baths and relax for a while. Arin waited for Alex to get out of bed and come with him. "Why do you look like that? Get the pout of your face, you're not a child," he said with a snort and shook his head, before shuffling out of the room slowly. He motioned for Alex to wait outside his room while he went and got the change of clothes.

And then after that he found Lorcan, who took them to the baths, and got them towels as well. He led them down a bunch of tunnels, and the sorcerer followed behind, making some small talk with the Fae, mostly asking about where to meet later. Eventually they got to a big cave that opened up, and there were multiple holes in the floor filled with steaming water from inside the earth. Arin thanked the fae, there were other fae in there relaxing in the baths but Arin picked an unoccupied one, and pulled of all his clothes except underwear, only cause he just...yeah. He hadnt really had a chance to inspect his wounds, but he had a bunch of bruises. Arin slipped into the bath and let out a small sigh, the warm water feeling extremely nice on his wounds.

Alex did not listen to instructions and the small pout remained, not like he could really control it. He followed Arin out of the room just to have to wait for him to go get his clothing, not that he was complaining. He leaned against the wall rubbing his eyes before pushing himself up once more to follow him on the way to where ever they were going. They met up with Lorcan and he was handed a towel before headed down an off shoot. It was when he arrived to the warm room filled with many little baths that he remembered they were going to the baths. He had been too busy sulking in his mind and trailing along close behind Arin to actually register the words that had been said earlier. So he chose an empty bath next to the one Arin had taken and set the folded towel down his cloths beside it, not stripping all the way as well, before easing into the warm water. He had to admit it did feel nice but more the fact he was clean, the bruise looked worse than it was really.

Alex turned to he could speak to the male, the angle he was at he could not see anything under the water so Arin did not have to worry about that, pushing the pout off his face so he would not get scolded again "Look don't be mad at me yeah? It looks worse than it is" he finished off with an apologetic smile placing his arms out of the tub so he could rest his chin there the water covering most of his body while still letting him face the other male. He still was tired so he closed his eyes trying to relax the stiff muscles of his side.

Arin could feel the water's healing properties seeping into his skin and bones, repairing the previous days damage. Oh he wished he could live with the fae all the time, having healing waters like this. He could feel his body mending, the strength coming back to him. Arin sighed again, sinking down deeper into the water, letting the water go up to his nose, and he closed his eyes for a while, enjoying the silence. Until he heard Alex speaking to him, and he grumbled, sitting up straighter and glancing over at the male.

"I'm not mad at you," Arin looked a little confused. "Just frustrated that you're as stubborn as me. You still should have let me heal you before. I needed rest anyways, so why did it matter if the magic exhausted me?" he pointed out, raising his eyebrows at the other male. "Doesnt matter anyways, the water will heal you like I would anyways," he said with a small yawn, and then laughed a little as Alex's eyes closed. "Don't fall asleep, and then drown on me," he called, and used a little of his magic to splash some water over the other males head, and Arin laughed as he did this.

Alex lifted his head when water splashed, forcing himself not to give the reaction the other wanted just a smirk before he spoke "You'd better quit before I decide to join you over there so I can fight back." he threatened, and if Arin had any sort of brain in his head he would know that was not a bluff. Alex was relieved that the other was not outright angry with him but he did still need to play his cards right to keep the annoyance he was hearing from growing. "Practice what you preach I know, I know." he grumbled sinking lower into the water so that the bruise was fully covered, it went up to his armpit and down almost the whole way to his hip, his shoulder was fine so he was not worrying about that much. He smirked at Arin leaving the threat hanging in the air while he closed his eyes trying to relax once more, the way that male got his heart racing. He spoke again without bothering to open his eyes "I'm not bluffing, but I'm also not sure if you'd actually dislike that, go ahead and show me." he said with a signature smirk basically threatening the other male to do it again.

He left it up to the other male to decided if he wanted to win and splash him again or be joined by a largely unclothed Alex in close quarters. So win or embarrassment of being unable to hide a blush or speeding heart rate, or anything else really. Alex was fairly confident in his safety with that threat and so relaxed into the water, fairly certain he could feel it working but who knew if that was true or his mind.

Arin raised his eyebrows at the threat. "Please, be my guest," he said, his cheeks colored, but that could also be due to the heat of the water. He didn't splash Alex back just yet, he was waiting to make his move, surprise the other male perhaps. He nodded as Alex said he knew what Arin meant, and then went on to say that he wasn't kidding about his statement earlier. "I didn't think you were bluffing," he replied and watched Alex for a while. Did he want to splash him again and get him in close proximity? Yes, he did, but at the same time, it scared him a little. Arin still had no idea what he was doing with Alex, how far he was willing to go, but he knew the teasing and flirting would lead somewhere if he didn't stop or do something about it. Arin was beyond confused, but he really liked messing with the other man, it felt...nice to have human contact, to talk to someone, to be held...
Arin shrugged and figured to hell with it, he would see if Alex would go on his word. He used his magic again to splash the other man, and then he let out a bit of a laugh. "Cmon, get over and "get me back" if you have the confidence," he challenged and smirked, waiting for Alex to get over there.

At the feeling of arm water soaking his hair Alex lifted his head and pushed himself up, it was only half a moment before he was basically sitting in Arin's lap. He cupped water into his head dropping it on Arin's head with a little laugh. He leaned down so he could whisper "I don't bluff" settling back to the other side of the bath not bothering to go back to his own. "I have more confidence then I should, I think we both know that." Alex said with a laugh and a grin. He liked the other male, the way he played around and the feeling of having him close but he was stilling telling himself he would not do anything until the quest was over, that he could not distract the other male. He did not really want to, well actually of course he did look at that jawline, but he felt he had no right to distract him. He liked having him close and joking and all but at some point he had to make it clear he was not willing and not ready to go very far.

Alex cupped some water in his hands to wash off his face as well as push the thoughts out of his head looking up again with a small smile. Arin said before he wanted to focus only on the quest so he was probably worrying for nothing, besides he should leave the worry to later when here was actual danger lurking.

Arin watched him come over and climb in, and then practically sit on him only to dump a little bit of water on his head. The sorcerer wiped his face and chuckled, trying to get his heart rate to calm but it sped up with the other male so close. "That was the best you could do though? Just a little water on my head?" he asked, raising his eyebrows before sitting back a bit. He didnt like how Alex had moved away across the bath, he'd much rather just reach out and grab Alex, kiss him or something, or hold him. And the way the other male was smiling every once in a while at Arin was not helping. Something was telling him he needed to hold back and keep this back and forth teasing going on.

Because who knew if either of them were going to survive the rest of the quest. If he got too attached and lost Alex, Arin would probably go mad and not even finish what he had started. But in all honesty, Arin was already there. The thought of losing Alex made him sick. Arin tried to get rid of these thoughts by pushing them out of his head and focusing on what was going on at the moment. He sent a wave of water at Alex, and then he dunked himself underwater to finish cleaning himself off. Then he figured he was done, his body felt clean and healed, so he stood and climbed out, dripping wet, so he grabbed the towel and started drying himself off.

Alex chuckled at the male as he got out of the bath to dry off, insulting the way he had dumped only a little water on his head. With a smirk he shot back a reply "It was less about the water and more about how I got that heart of yours pumping." He finished it off with a little chuckle before dunking himself under water to properly wet his dark curls which stuck down to his head when he came back up for air. Alex lifted himself out of the water and pulled Arin to him. Arin's newly dry back was pressed flush to Alex's sopping chest and Alex had his arms crossed over the others chest not only to hold him there but to feel his heart. He only held the male there long enough to get him wet and get a reaction before he let go and moved his clothes so they would not get wet. He grabbed his towel and started drying himself off hoping Arin would not try and fight back.

"That enough water for you?" he asked with a grin turning back to face the other male with a little shrug. "Just remember, you started it." okay so maybe now he sounded like a child but it was all in good fun. They had to have fun before they were actually in danger. He had to take advantage of the forced niceness considering he thought that when the quest was over Arin would ditch him back in his town and go back to the castle, or to find other sorcerers.

Arin let out a snort as he said it wasn't about the water. "You're probably going to give me a heart attack one day, then," he said and he was in the middle of drying off his arms when he felt the other male behind him suddenly, and well he did let out a gasp in shock. He even grumbled in protest as he was let go, and then he shot a glare over at Alex. "You're going to need to stop doing that, stop tempting me..." he was fighting his feelings so much right now, and yes Alex probably did catch Arin's heart rate increasing from holding him. It wasn't fair, the constant teasing and yet he didn't know what he wanted, nor did he know what the other male wanted from him other than reactions, as he'd said last night. Maybe he wanted more, but it wasn't exactly the best time for that kind of thing.

He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Plenty of water, thanks," he rolled up his towel and then snapped it towards Alex, hoping it would whip him a little, lightly of course. Though the sound of it made him wince, remembering what happened to himself, and he quickly unwound the towel, using it to wipe off his back, being careful of the ugly scars. He was surprised that Alex didn't look at it with disgust or anything, and instead just grabbed him from behind. Arin dried off what he could, and he used magic to dry the undergarments he was wearing, as well as Alex's so he wouldn't have to slip on the new clothes with wet underwear. Then he pulled on the new clothing, and used his magic again to make the old disappear. "Alright, let's go," he motioned, heading out of the baths area, and looking around for the meeting room that Lorcan had told him to go to. "Are you any good with strategy?" he asked

Alex got dressed comfortably, minus the small sting on his right thigh that a less than nice friend put there, but thanks to that same friend drying out his underwear. He followed Arin out rubbing his hair with the towel so it would not drip over his dry clothing. He was lost in thought about as much as usual but the thoughts were less happy then usual. He was considering, well more than considering, stopping the teasing and all the closeness with Arin because he felt he did not have the right to distract him from the quest. Besides the other had just lost the person he loved, Alex did not want to become a replacement. He did not want the feelings to be transferred. He tailed along behind the other male lost in thought until that same voice that got hi heart pumping brought him back. "I'm good enough, yeah" he responded with a shrug. Maybe change the mood of whatever he did from 'intimate' to more buddy buddy.

Alex was stuck in the mindset that he had no right to distract the other, that he was either leading him on or being led on. Convinced that he would hurt the other if he tried to make a move or that he would get left behind when it was all over he had cornered himself into this place of thinking that he needed to distance himself. He was wrong. On all accounts he was wrong. But that did not make a difference knowing that because the insecurities still took hold of him and tried to drag him down.

Arin didn't necessarily want the new interactions between them to stop, he just wanted to get his head straight. Figure out what he wanted, and then things would be alright. But maybe he'd need to wait until be saved the kingdom to do that. Who knew what would happen, who knew if they were going to live...nothing was certain. So maybe he should enjoy things while he could. He glanced over at Alex, and he was surprisingly quiet, and keeping his distance. Usually he couldn't keep himself from touching Arin, somehow so, he wondered if something was wrong. "Alright. We are going to be helping Laia with her troll problem, and I have an idea but you're smart, so," he shrugged.

Eventually he found the room where everyone was, and in there was Laia, Lorcan, and then a bunch of fae warriors. They were surrounding a map of the surrounding land and talking, well more like arguing. Laia glanced over when the two walked in and she motioned for them to come over. "Excuse my harshness, your majesty, but you're letting a sorcerer and human help us?" one of the fae warriors asked.
Laia glanced up and frowned. "Arin is my closest friend. I trust him. He has magical abilities that could help us, and has worked closely with a king and prince before, I'm sure he's seen war strategies," she countered. "Do not question your queen," Lorcan added with a glare and the fae remained silent. Laia then glanced at Arin and Alex and pointed to a strip of forest on the other side of a river. "They've started moving into this area, which is our territory. They've killed some of our warriors, claiming they're invading troll territory that has always been fae. They have been assembling more of their warriors along this area and we fear they are going to attack us for more territory. So we want to strike before they do. We have been thinking of just heading into their man camp and attacking," she said.
Arin leaned over the map and tapped his fingers, thinking. "If you're going to do that I have an idea. I could make the illusion of your warriors attacking them, tire them out, and then send in your actual warriors," he said. Laia nodded, turning to Lorcan for a moment, speaking quietly.
Arin turned to Alex. "Have any ideas?" he asked quietly

"Keep it surrounded, the last thing you want is one of theirs coming back with reinforcements" he offered with a little smile, without more knowledge of fighting habits it was the best he could do for them. "Pardon my language but it is beyond stupid to just charge in and fight. Have some warriors on long distance weapons to hang back ready to run in if needed. Make sure they do not know you are there until you are already fighting" he said with a shrug before receding back to the background, it was more than obvious the fae did not like him because he was a human. They needed to keep some back, it was useless to send all their fighters to the middle they needed to have a ring so none of the trolls could run for help, they needed a mix of one on one fighting and long distance, such as archers, in the back to help out when needed. He also knew that projecting that much of an illusion was sure to exhaust Arin really quick, not only visual but physical and more than one image? He was capable but how long could he hold it up.

For the time being he hung around the back listening to what was happening more then contributing. He knew he was not the most help in this situation but he would help how he could, and how he was allowed to. Other than smithing he was basically useless, that was the one skill he knew and knew well. "I'm a blacksmith, I can probably pound out a bucket of arrowheads in a couple hours if that helps at all" he offered up with an earnest smile. A little shrug moved his shoulders and he chewed down on his cheek while he waited for a reply.

Kaia nodded at the keep them surrounded thing, that was a good idea. But at his second comment, she shook her head. "We wouldn't literally be charging into the camp and attacking. The fae are sneaky," she explained to Alex, but then had another idea, and she turned to Arin. "What if you make the illusions not fae, but trolls? It would confuse them if their own turned on them," she said. Arin ruffled the back of his head. "I could do that if I were near them and saw that they looked like, to perfect the illusion," he replied, "But yes that could work as well," he said. "This would have to be quick though, I could only keep the illusion alive for about twenty minutes, if I want to keep some of my energy," he informed.
Laia nodded, "It will still tire them out a bit regardless, leave them confused. We will keep the area surrounded by troops, with archers and reinforcements. Then we'll send in the first wave of us just as the illusion is ending, taking them out stealthily...." and then she continued onto the rest of their strategy, before everyone seemed to agree to this. Arin only partially listened, he didn't care too much other than what his role was. He was focused on Alex now, glancing over at him every once in a while. He was planning on asking him to stay here where he was safe during this battle, but he knew that Alex would insist on coming along.
When the blacksmith offered to make some arrowheads for the fae, Arin nodded his agreement. "Yes, put him to use," he clapped a hand on Alex's back. Laia nodded her agreements. "That's fine with me, any kind of help with weaponry would be great. Gavriel! Take him to the forge," she instructed.
"I'm coming too, I want to see your work," Arin said, when really he just didn't want to be separated from Alex. It was wrird, he felt like he needed to be around him at all times. Alex probably was going to think he was way too clingy.
"Alright Arin. Try not to use any magic for the rest of the day and go to bed early! Get lots of rest, I want to attack as soon as possibly, tomorrow," Laia said and Arin gave her a thumbs up before following after Gavriel and Alex, who were heading to the forges.

Alex nodded headed out after the fae he was directed to follow, Arin seemed over enthusiastic about him working there even insisting to come along. "Your help may be needed more somewhere else, besides we both know you wan see me shirtless again." he joked over his shoulder with a little wink and a chuckle but missing the way he normally would slow down and bump him in some way or another. He did want to distance himself a bit but if asked he could always say he was eager to get back to work. Alex tried to memorize the twisting labyrinth of tunnels and caves they were passing through but with a quick enough turn he was disoriented all over again, he was eager to get working again and hoped there would not be a bunch of apprentices flitting around getting in his way. It was not an exaggeration when he said he could work out a bucked of arrowheads in a couple hours and depending on the state of the metal if it was in general shape in need of folding and stretching only he could make a sword in a day then send it off to be sharpened.

When they did arrive at the offshoot with the straggling blacksmith he got that signature smile smirk entering and closing the door, it was customary to keep doors closed for the decency of the women. It had been different in his town because there were so few people they needed to enter but here customs could be followed, certain decency rules did seem to cross over. He took an empty anvil closest the bellows sorting it out seeing where the metal was and what he needed to do. After a couple minutes of waiting for the bits and pieces to heat he took the first small piece of metal from the flame and quick to the anvil he went mashing and pounding to form the shape and edges that would be sent off somewhere else to be sharpened. You could not hammer out a sharp edge but you could get it close enough sharpening would not take long. When he was done he dunked it in the pail of water beside him long enough to cool the metal and dropped it into the empty bucket with a nice cling of metal on metal turning to grab the next.

Arin had followed them out, feeling a lot better both physically and mentally after the baths. And he was actually...happy? He had been under a dark cloud for a while and now that storm seemed to be passing. It felt good to Arin to be happy again. So, he was slightly disappointed when Alex said he might be needed elsewhere, and almost brushed off having his presence. It was weird, since Alex seemed to want to be around him, at least before. Arin did not like mixed signals one bit. "Probably," was what he replied and he stopped walking as the other man continued. "Or maybe I'm genuinely curious in wanting to know about your lifestyle," he frowned. It wasn't just some sort of physical attraction he had to Alex, sure that was there, but he actually wanted to see the blacksmith in his usual, normal working state. He'd only got a glimpse of it back home. "Alright, I'll see you later, bring you some food while you work maybe," he glanced down at the floor and rubbed the back of his neck.

Arin returned to the room he'd previously been in, and continued talking plans over with Laia and the others, pointing out places, trying to understand the layout of the land. Eventually they all broke to go and do their own jobs, so Arin headed back to his room. He had only been told to rest, so Arin meditated. It wasn't sleep, but it was a way of clearing his mind, connecting more with his magical abilities. A knick came on the door then, and some fae came in to have him try on some armor, just a few protective materials in case he needed to fight too, though it was doubtful he'd be in a strong enough state to fight after using his magic.

Once that was done it was time for a meal, and Arin grabbed himself a plate, as well as one for Alex, and he shuffled down the hall, going to the forges. He slipped inside and glanced around all the faces before he landed on a familiar one. "Here. We both didn't eat this morning so I grabbed extra stuff," he glanced around at what he had done so far, curious as to how well he made the arrowheads. "How many have you made?" he asked as he bit into a piece of the bread.

I'm blocking it off a bit because if we develop the romance to soon there will be nothing to build on, I do really want them to get together but yeah.
Alex let the work clear his mind and calm him down, he could see distancing himself even the little bit he did was hurting the other male and he hated that but he needed to look out for himself as well. Arin had taken an unusual amount of offence to the usual 'see me shirtless' bit he almost always brought up but he used it to turn anything between them from something serious to a sort of pass off. He had not looked back when Arin had left knowing he could break if the other looked the way he thought he looked. He let the ringing of the anvil overthrow his thoughts slipping into a steady pace of working, rarely needing to reheat and easily forming the arrowheads. The red metal took the image of Arin from his eyes and the ringing pulled the thoughts and sound of the hesitant voice from his mind. There was and always had been a therapy to the rhythm of working and the burn of his muscles when he did more than normal.

Alex had a bit more than a bucket pounded out when Arin's voice pulled him from his mindless work. He had just dropped an arrowhead into the water, a near full bucket sat on the other side. He looked up and muttered a thanks taking the plate and moving over to sit and start eating, he had been distracted but not the hunger was slowly setting in. He was waiting for Arin to take the seat near him only after a few bites registering he had been asked a question. He opted for the short answer "almost a bucket full, I'm not sure exactly" with a little smile before taking up the food again, the more he ate the more he realized he was hungry.

[Oh no no don't worry I agree!! I wasn't gonna have Arin do anything, he's merely a confused little sorcerer :3 ]

Arin found it both admiring and amusing how he'd been so absorbed in his work when he'd arrived to check up on him. Though it made him realize how dedicated he was to his job, and how much he seemed to enjoy it. If they got back to the castle and Arin succeeded in defeating his uncle (there was no way he was going to let Alex anywhere near his uncle when they returned), then he would try and get the princess to let Alex work at the castle. It would be much better pay, and he'd be helping out the army and general forces of the castle. . And...if Arin planned on sticking around the kingdom after all of that, Alex would be nearby, and he could visit or spend time with him. Of course all of this would only happen if Alex wanted to work at the castle. Arin shook his head at these thoughts though, amazed at himself for thinking so far ahead. First he had to worry about getting through today.
Arin peeked into the bucket and picked out an arrowhead to inspect it. Archery was what he was best at, and he knew what a good arrowhead looked like. He nodded and dropped the metal back into the bucket. "Not bad at all, blacksmith," he said as he moved to sit in the seat as well and continue eating his food. "I'll probably be in my room resting when you're all done with this, so if you need me you can wake me up," he informed Alex, just in case the man would be looking for him after he was done with his weapon making. After finishing some of his food the male rubbed his eyes. "I want you to stay here when we go out on this mission tomorrow, but I know you're not going to, right?" he raised an eyebrow.

Alex scoffed looking up with eyes full of false indigence, "Not bad, I think you mean pretty damn good. Actually scratch that, the best" he said with a little scoff followed by a laugh s he was unable to keep the game going. He listened to the others words, most likely Alex would not need him and he would avoid needing him as much as he hated to do it. "Nah I'll probably be working then go to bed, but I'll remember in case" he muttered without looking up listening to the next words he looked up with a smirk "You know I'm not just gonna stay here, someone needs to protect you" he said. It was only half joking, after putting that much of an illusion Arin would be in no state to defend himself and Alex would not let him die without a fight. He gave a small smile to the other male but it did show through he was a bit worried for the other male. Even if Arin ended up not liking him he had still grown protective over the smaller male, even though they were not together and there is a good chance that would not happen- or Alex thinks- he still liked the other male.

Alex turned back to his food, he did not like the way his heart raced at the sound of that voice, that was dangerous for him. He was in no state to find out he was a replacement or anything of the sort, he could not let himself be hurt. If that meant hurting a little now to save a lot of pain later he would resign to do it. He did kind of just want to get back to work but he knew he had to eat and could not brush the other off that blatantly. He had to try and move away slow enough the other would not get hurt again. Seeing the other male hurt would drive him right back again and he could not let that happen either.
