    I gathered my stuff and watched most people leave the class before seeing Jared waiting for me again. This time I didn't want a fight to break out so I glanced at Keith before walking over to him and sighing "Hey..you ok?"I asked gently.

    Ic: I had reached the gates late since I had a detention and only saw Jared near the corner. And then I saw something bad..Blood on his knuckles I walked over to him and sighed "What the hell have you done now!?"I said a little annoyed as I grabbed his knuckle so he couldn't hide it. I hoped that Keith had made it home safetly and it wasn't his blood .

    "I just got into a fist fight with some kid, that's all." Jared lied, letting her see his knuckles. Once he saw me begin crawling out, he turned back to you and asked, "Hey, do you want me to walk you home? I promise, I want pull anything." He told her, hoping she didn't notice me.

    I was trying not to seem so happy. But I noticed the simple change in him and wanted to see if he would pull anything. So I nodded and started walking towards my home. I sighed "You know what happens when you get into fights..The school will get you kicked out again"I muttered.

    Jared nodded and began walking with her, making sure to avoid me. I watched as they got further and further away, and I decided to do something I would probably regret doing. I knew I had to cut off all ties with Maddie once more, even though I didn't want to. I then stood up and began limping home. "So, why do you work with that nerdy kid, Mads?" Jared asked, looking at her as they walked.

    I shrugged trying not to seem to bothered "Hey Nerdy kids are supposed to be smart right...plus I got paired with him and the teacher wouldn't let me swap"I sighed acting annoyed. I was going to see if Keith was alright tomorrow as I walked with Jared quietly.

    Jared nodded and chuckled. "Yeah, that's true. I mean, he's a nobody, why would anyone really care about him?" He said, laughing at the remark he made. By now, I managed to get home extremely quickly, thanks to another shortcut I knew.

    I smiled "Yeah...Nobody"i piped in since I wanted to make sure that I seemed like I didn't care about him "I think he has a crush on me though...like he has a chance"I huffed as we reached the street before mine.

    That actually made Jared laugh. "Who'd want to give him a chance?" He questioned, still laughing loud enough for me to hear. I looked out my window, my wounds cleaned up and bandaged now. First things first, I quickly called the teacher and asked if I could work on the project alone.

    I laughed not knowing he could hear I looked at Jared and smiled softly since he did seem a lot better. Like when they were going out in the begining. She walked over to her street "Thanks but I can walk from here"I said not wanting him to go to the trouble.

    "Nah, its cool. I can walk you all the way home, if you'd want." Jared said, speaking a tiny bit like I did the night before. Although, that would quickly change as I watched her laugh. She was faking it. I knew it, I should've listened to my instincts. I thought to myself, feeling small tears roll down my cheeks as I said thank you to the teacher and hung up, before laying down in bed and began falling asleep.

    I woke up slowly hearing breathing before opening my eyes to find Jared beside me. Don't tell me..I let him I sighed and stretched out before finding my clothes and putting on new ones before packing for school. Everythings a mess why an't I hate Jared.

    I was already at the school, sitting in my seat, drawing the picture I had been working on for a week now. I knew Maddie wouldn't really care if I cancelled the partner project. At least she suffers now, since she's working alone.

    I shook Jared awake "Hey we are late for school...unless your not planning to go"I sighed I didn't want to go to school because Keith would be there and I would have to act like I didn't know him.
    I watched Jared hoping he would say yes or no.

    "No, I'm not going." He grumbled, rolling over and continued sleeping, all the while kids began crowding up the halls. The school wasn't very far from her house, so she would make it to class on time.

    Soon, a phone call from the teacher came in, the teacher ready to notify Maddie that she will be working on the project alone from now on, since Keith had decided that he "didnt want to work with her anymore."

    I frowned and jreplied with a bitter "fine" as i pit my phone down i wondered why he had changed his mind. Maybe he saw me with Jared...maybe it was Keith who Jared had fought with "damn it!"i said frustrated before looking over to the sleeping log.

    Jared snored slightly, even though there was a small smirk on his face at the phone call. All the while, I had quickly finished the drawing, and then moved onto reading more about Charles Dickens. I knew she would need my help, but after going behind my back and laughed at me, yeah no. If she didn't want to be seen with me, she could've just said so, and I would've avoided her.
