  • Sheena clapped her hands together, as her sister laid there, still out of it. "Okay, she should be fine. I really probably need to get back to my team. So Imma head out," she said, making hand gestures to go. "Good luck, and see ya, I know you'll pass this round! I'm positive!" She giggled and winked, and left, pushing through some leaves, and leaping into the tree tops, vanishing from sight.

  • After she was finished binding Yasei's fists, Shizuka's fist glowed. The familiar sound of chirping birds soundly chorused throughout the cave as she pressed it to her abdomen. Despite the intense pain of her skin binding itself, the silver-haired kunoichi forced any emotion off her face, not willing to let Yasei see her in pain.

Yasei narrowed his eyes at her, not convinced by her facade. But the red-haired boy knew that he couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't bring himself to stop her because he knew that she was only doing it so that she didn't die of blood loss.

A silent sigh of relief escaped Shizuka's lips once she had finally finished, the ball of lightning fading from her closed fist. "We'll have to leave as soon as Machi wakes up. But for now, just try to get some rest."

  • OOC: Well, I think our characters may not be up to dealing with other genin who want to steal their scrolls, so we could skip to after this exam when they're preparing for the next one. That's the tournament isn't it?

  • ooc: we should make like a small post regarding getting to the next part, then yeah a skip to the tourney would be fun! :D

  • After Machi had woken up, Shizuka was quick to nudge Yasei up, and the trio moved from their safe haven. There had been one team who had attempted to trap them in a genjutsu in order to steal their scrolls.

But that hadn't realised until too late that they had been trying to trap clones in a genjutsu.

By then, the three genin had already made it the building. Shizuka was emitting a dark aura that kept their classmates from congratulating her. Even an idiot could see how pissed off she was. The usually emotionless kunoichi was suddenly glaring at everything that moved. Shizuka was a little bit more than sick of running into cocky genin who wanted nothing but to gloat in her face as they stabbed in her the gut.

The silver-haired kunoichi had even gone so far as to replaced the pain of her wound with the fury of having received it in the place.

    Meanwhile, Yasei...

He just napped until all of the victorious team reached the meeting spot.

  • Machi had taken quite a bit of time to get up and recover. She had no idea her sister had aided her, and has assumed it was her teammates that had. She still hadn't recovered most of her chakra by the time the next team had interrupted them. But it didn't prove to be that much of an issue. Even one use of her Sharingan was enough to cancel out a weak genjutsu that had been cast on her. When she had awoken though, she had been elated to discover that Rikuto's team did indeed have the opposite scroll from them, unlike the first team they had fought.

Even with the time wasted, they had managed to escape the forest with their scrolls, and move on to the next round. Which was a tournament. By this time, Machi had mostly recovered, though her arms still ached from the memory of electrical pain. She had noticed Shizuka was pained as well, but said nothing about it, as the other girl had an air of anger about her, that Machi didn't especially want to test.

As they prepared for the tournament, to Machi's delight, she spotted her half-sister Sheena. "Oh, Sheena! You made it through?" Not much really excited the Uchiha girl, but quickly she was becoming fond of her half-sister. Her words were also superfluous as she had expected Sheena and her team to pass. Narrowing her eyes, she leaned in to whisper. "That storm... During the Rikuto fight. It was 'natural', but I saw chakra in it. Was that you...?"

Sheena snickered and responded, a bit taken off guard. "Wow, I guess I really can't hide much from the Sharingan can I? Yeah, I learned a secret jutsu that allows me to summon a storm. One that is 'naturally' occurring. Though its really not, since I use a jutsu to call it, but..-" she was cut off by Machi.

"Holy crap! You can control the weather?! That's so freaking cool! You gotta teach me that!" Machi exclaimed, trying to be quiet about it.

"Haha.. Uh, sortof. I can only summon a storm... Which is useful since natural lightning is stronger and easier to manipulate than conjured lightning," Sheena answered, trying to not reveal how flustered she was. "Yeah it was me though... Hope I didn't offend you by helping out."

Machi blinked. No, she wasn't offended. But again, Sheena had provided help. This actually was a bit concerning. The Uchiha realized that she wanted to accomplish all this on her own. (Or with her team at least). Having outside help? Sort of defeated the purpose, didn't it? "Nope..."

  • Yasei watched amused as Shizuka got chewed out by her brother. Kakashi had appeared just as Shizuka was having her wound taken care of by a medical ninja, and so he wasn't willing to let her live it down. Since both of them had the same sort of masks covering the majority of their faces it looked quite funny, especially with their matching hair colour.

Although Yasei had been quite disappointed when Shizuka had put her mask back on before they had left the cave. Even more disappointed that she hadn't taken it off since.

Kakashi seemed to be enjoying himself, grinning down at his little sister, "What did I tell you about dropping your guard during battle?"

Shizuka pouted at him through her mask, "If you had let me graduate earlier like you did, than I'd already be a Chunin by now, and I'd have more experience with these kind of things."

The silver-haired jonin ruffled his sister's hair, "But I had to let you grow up, and make some friends."

Shizuka wiped all emotion from her eyes, and turned away for him, "Whatever."

Kakashi sighed, leaning down so he was at her height, "Listen Shizuka, I know you want to do everything on your own, but it doesn't kill to have a little help. During the tournament, Yasei and Machi will be rooting for you. Just remember this: Always analyse your opponent's strengths, weaknesses and limitations before your first attack, and don't be afraid to think outside the box. You'll do just great, now go, they're rounding all you up for the tournament."

Planting a kiss on his sister's forehead, Kakashi gave her a light shove towards her team, gesturing for her to follow them. Yasei grinned at her, throwing his arm over her shoulder before dragging her towards Machi.

  • Machi's sister left, reminding her to get ready for the upcoming matches, leaving with a wink and a blown kiss. Her sister was definitely more flirtatious of a person. Machi had had no idea that her father was such a philanderer, her mother hadn't really spoken of him. But she found herself happy to have siblings, even if they were half-siblings.

"Okay, so, I'm ready," Machi purred, grinning at her teammates, wondering which of them would be the first to fight,

  • All of the genin lined up, waiting for the first two names to be called for the first battle of the last exam. It was announced that due to there being 21 genin (7 teams) who had passed, they needed to hold preliminaries to narrow it down to fewer numbers. There would have to be at least t battles, to narrow it down to 8 genin.

OOC: Uh, how are we gonna plan this bit?

  • ooc: okay, wait, you said 21 genin? hm, iduno XD i had planned on Sheenas team making it, Rikutos making it despite losing their scroll (they got two scrolls back), our team making it, another antagonist team making it, and maybe rivals from konoha making it?? XD iduno, i didnt really think so hard on it haha

  • ooc: okay, how bout this, you just make one of your charries fight someone, anyone you want hehe then ill do it, and back and forth?

  • OOC: Okay, let's do this!

Four other genin from Konoha ended up fighting first, the two battles ending in the victory of a Hyuga and a Inuzuka. It was after these two battles, that the first member of Team 4 was called out for the third battle.

    "Yasei Uzumaki vs. Shikino Nara"

The red-haired boy grinned, he had been itching for a fight, and now he was finally getting one.

OOC: Will the preliminaries be described relatively vague?

  • At first, it looked like Yasei had no chance against a ninja from the Nara clan, but he's dealt with their jutsu before, having known Shizuka for pretty much his whole life. Because the Nara Clan's jutsus were some of her favourites, she used them often, and he was familiar enough with them to keep up.

As soon as Shikino tried to reach Yasei's shadow with his own for what seemed the umpteenth time, Yasei was able to somewhat deflect it by pushing the shadow away with a fireball jutsu. Behind the fireball, he planted a shadow clone, while he moved to somewhere Shikino couldn't see him. While the young Nara tried to trap his shadow clone in his jutsu, he realised too late that it was only a clone.

From then on, the battle had become one of close combat, Shikino unable to use his jutsu while defending himself. The fight went on for awhile until Yasei used Ferocious Fist, successfully knocking out his opponent.
