  • Ultimately, the water was a huge hindrance, but Shin knew mud style, and was not so easily countered. His entire body morphed into the stuff, and became a muddy substance. His great, grand armor, turned to mush, and began to slowly recede, as he left it. It didn't completely disintegrate though, turning into a new muddy, hill, a blemish on the forest now.

This storm was a blessing. It was like a constant surge of power. Nature itself was flowing through Machi, as she darted through the forest. Her lightning cloak was stinging, like usual, but it wasn't as bad, the natural lightning was nicer to her, instead of pulling, always tugging on her own chakra reserves. She moved like the lightning itself, using the rain as a way of conducting herself through the area.

Rikuto was having trouble fending her off. She could tell. He was having trouble keeping up with her now. Finally, she had the upperhand. However, she knew, she would not be able to defeat him alone. His body had a protective 'armor' just as Shin's did, except his was invisible. It was an armor that completely negated Chakra. It would require more power than she could provide to bust through. The power of all of her team at once. Meanwhile, she would make Rikuto weary. She would work him to the bone so to speak. So her onslaught went on, with a few clones wearing Lightning Cloaks at the same time. Once Shin was down, their entire team would focus Rikuto. However, Shin was not going without a fight, by the looks of it.

"Muddy Style: Cascade!" Shin groaned, his arms turning into a massive mudslide, engulfing Yasei's clones in the substance, and rolling towards Yasei and Shizuka. The water no longer was affecting him. He had adapted to the environment now.

  • The real Yasei leapt backwards, wrapping an arm around Shizuka's waist before landing on a branch of the tree where Shin was currently sliding towards.

Shizuka growled, the bubble of water flying back towards her wrist before shifting from liquid back to flesh. Yasei's arm around her only tightened when she broke into a coughing fit, blood splattering the bark between her feet.

Both of the young ninja knew that they needed to wrap this up quickly, before their chakra finally depleted, and so they could help Machi defeat Rikuto.

    "Yasei,"
but before the albino could continue, a burst of chakra flowed into her. Shizuka gave him a nod, displaying the gratitude and determination her eyes. "Chidori!" The blue ball of lightning illuminated her face, sending her hair flying around about her head.

Shizuka launched the focused ball of lightning towards Shin with a short cry of rage, the rage that fuelled her determination. The chirps of a thousand bird sounded throughout the clearing before they made contact with Shin's own jutsu.

  • Shin's cascading mud began to break apart with the chirping electrical jutsu that Shizuka had thrown at it, but nevertheless, Shin's mud seemed endless, still rushing towards the two, even while her attack ripped through it. It was like his overbearing attacks were thrown out with reckless abandon.

Machi was zipping and zapping around Rikuto. Each time she landed a hit she felt the power behind her strike leave, his 'negation armor' eroding the chakra used in her strikes away. In fact, it would be dangerous normally to approach Rikuto when he could just negate one's chakra like that, but she was fast -lightning fast- and it allowed her chakra to quickly replenish. She hoped they could overcome Shin. That man was like earth, mud, and sand itself. It seemed like luck that they had managed to knock out the girl so easily.

Maybe she could help them defeat Shin, so they could help her defeat Rikuto. She focused inside: feeling the heat bubbling up within her. Zooming around Rikuto, she shouted, holding out her hand, "Rrrraaah! Red-Lightning Style: Solar Bolt!" Mini red markings in the shape of lightning crawled up her arm, and her hand glowed orange, before a straight-firing red bolt of lightning shot out towards Shin. It instantly ripped through the mud, piercing Shin and catching him off guard, opening him up finally.

  • Yasei nearly fell of the branch, due to Shizuka pulling herself from his grasp so quickly. The albino landed on the ground gracefully, ignoring the pain from her wounds. A circle of lightning surrounded her, and she held her wrist down, as if the ball of lightning was begging to be set free from her grasp.

Shizuka ran at Shin while he was still open, releasing her wrist before she aimed her lightning encompassed fist towards his cheek, "Lightning Blade!"

However, they weren't done yet. Yasei had managed to compose himself by now, and was already jumping over Shizuka to aim a punch at Shin's other cheek, "Ferocious Fist!"

  • That was it. Finally, Shin collapsed after the team's trio attack. His body morphed back together and fell unconscious, singe marks on his cheeks, and on the middle of his back, his clothes burned through in that spot.

Machi staggered backwards, holding her hand, which was smoking. She had only just attempted a 'Red-Lightning Style' jutsu, off the top of her head. Her instincts had been right on the money -as usual- but she hadn't been prepared for the pain from the attack. It had been like placing one's hand onto the stove top. If it burned her hand this much, she wondered how Shin felt after being struck by it.

As she staggered, and faltered to compose herself, Rikuto made his move. With a deft movement he was behind her, "What, Machi? Little burn? -Pay attention!" He was pissed his team had gone down, and was in disbelieving rage. His knee found her back, and his hand hit her hard in the back, sending her flipping and falling in the muddy dirt, her lightning cloak evaporating at his attack. Holding up his hand, his eyes darkened. "You three shall return to what makes us all, 'Genesis Dust'." From his hand a dark purple-mist spun out, and began to fall around him, spreading out quickly, trees and vegetation began to instantly wither and turn to ash and dust.

  • Shizuka looked to Yasei and he nodded, and in the blink of an eye, Machi was in his arms. Shizuka growled at Rikuto. Yasei knew very well that Shizuka didn't show emotion often. But when she usually did...

    It was anger.

And she was looking pretty pissed right now.

It may not have seemed like it, but the silver-haired kunoichi had been observing the battle between Rikuto and Machi, and she knew that any justus they used would be just as quickly diminished as they used them. Shizuka had to be careful, she was nearing her limit, even with the chakra bursts Yasei has sent her way throughout the battle.

But she needed to take care of the mist first, "Shield of Black Flames!" Flames the same colour as the mist ignited around them, burning the dust. But with every speck of dust, her jutsu weakened, the strain clear in her eyes, but she held her stance.

Yasei had thrown Machi's arm over his shoulder, making sure to support most of her weight. His eyes narrowed, with rage at Rikuto, but then with concern at Shizuka. Blood stained the blue haramaki that was wrapped around her waist; her wound had reopened.

Even Shizuka herself didn't know how long she would last.

  • Machi frowned at Yasei and pushed off of him, "I'm fine," she grumbled, reaching behind herself and rubbing her back. She was marginally grateful for his help, but felt not immediate need to show it. With a shock, she had to leap backwards, the dust tickling at her toes, and removing the foliage just at her feet.

She glared at Rikuto, he had mentioned something previously about 'meeting' the 'origin dust' or something out in those wastes he said he and his team had trained in. Was this what he was talking about? She could tell from her Sharingan, that this jutsu was very potent, she couldn't let it touch her. Forming the seals, she reapplied the Lightning Cloak, feeling its ever present sting, but at least the rainstorm overhead made it easier to maintain and control. If anything was to happen, they had to make it happen now.

  • It was getting harder and harder for her to breathe, but Shizuka held her ground. The silver-haired kunoichi had limited the reach of her black flames to just herself and Yasei, since Machi was now well enough to protect herself with her own jutsu.

Shizuka knew that they would have to focus on taijutsu for this battle, otherwise anything else they through at him would simply vanish into thin air.

The silver-haired kunoichi had an urge to use her brother's own jutsu One Thousand Years of Death, but she knew that it was only an E-Rank jutsu used to put snobby delinquents in their place, not exactly a professional jutsu.

What else had her brother taught her that she could use? Ferocious Fist? Silent Killing?

    OOC Can Rikuto stop Genjutsu?

  • Machi had dodged the dust well enough, using her superior speed. Now though, it was time to strike. Defense was not going to win against Rikuto. Only offense would. She understood that. Together, with the natural-charged Lightning cloak she zipped over the Genesis Dust jutsu, lightly tapping it with her sandals, which immediately began to erode.

Leaping at him she brought up her fist once more, and yelled, "Lightninnggggg Strike --- Twice!" Throwing a punch at him, with an electrical burst afterward. She felt her attack connect, but the burst of lightning was dissipated, leaving her frustrated. She knew some people you just couldn't beat with brute force. Unfortunately, Rikuto seemed to be the type you had to win with brute force on. If only the force was too much.

ooc: yeah he can get affected by genjutsu, but he gets rid of it like everyone else

  • Shizuka's crimson eyes darted to Yasei's green ones, and he nodded, understanding her silent message. While protected by Shizuka's black flames, the red-haired ninja charged at Rikuto, "Ferocious Fist!"

Since Ferocious Fist didn't need to be chakra-focused to be at full power, Yaseu managed to get the hit through, but that hadn't been the point of the attack in the first place. While Yasei was throwing fists at Rikuto, Shizuka had replaced the ball flames surrounding her with Wind Style: Multi Layered Gale. The many layers of wind was a more silent option that was required for her the Silent Killing technique

Yasei himself didn't know where she was, it was almost as if her presence had disappeared without a trace. Kunai seemed to fly from nowhere, yet everywhere at the same time, coming at Rikuto from all angles.

  • Machi stood back as the other two assaulted Rikuto with their taijutsu, it seemed fairly effective as the attacks more or less went through. Though Rikuto was not incompetent and knew how to defend himself, like he had been doing the entire time from her attacks. Though, his jutsu protected him from any chakra-based attacks, it also required chakra for him to maintain. Focusing her Sharingan she could tell, Rikuto was nearing his limits on his chakra.

"Just a little more," she coaxed her teammates, though she was also at the very edge of her limit. Her Lightning Cloak powered by a natural occuring storm was the only thing keeping her going. She was thankful for a sudden rainstorm, though she had some thoughts on its sudden appearance... Holding up her hand, lightning swirled around it, as she charged her attack. With a burst forward, she attempted to use the opening from her teammates, as Rikuto was distracted trying to defend against the kunai.

"At once. We'll all attack him at once," she announced to the other two. "If we pressure at once, we'll break through, I know it."

ooc: if i start a new rp, would you join it Shikaku? :3

  • Shizuka's hand reached into the back at her back, and pulled out a Fūma Shuriken, one of her personal favourites.

Yasei brought back his fist, this time preparing for a full-on attack instead of a distraction.

In the silver-haired kunoichi's hand, she held the large, folded-up form of the shuriken. Pulling it back slightly, she readied herself to throw it, "Demon Wind Shuriken: Windmill of Shadows!"

Just as the shuriken was released from her grasp, Yasei let out a battle cry, his fist heading straight for Rikuto's face, "Ferocious Fist!"

    OOC: Of course XP

  • As the other two attacked, and landed their blows, Machi zipped behind him, with a deft, quick flip. She could see he was struggling to protect himself, his chakra levels were so low. This was the time to take him down!

So with a scream, and with all the chakra and power she could muster, she bolstered her attack, bringing back her fist, and swinging it at him, blue sparks swirling around it. Her teeth clenched and her eye closed as she winced, releasing her jutsu. "Lightning Style: Strike Twenty Times!"

As her fist landed on his back, simultaneously as the other two attacks landed, a massive spark of lightning surged through Rikuto, as his defenses broke finally, his chakra unable to maintain his jutsu. Even with the Lightning Cloak being stable, and the natural lightning, her jutsu still put a strain on her, as the shocking pain coursed up through her arm, while it ripped into his back. She hadn't managed to bring the strike up to this level before, only able to max at 10 - or close to it. Yet, it was time to grow as a ninja, and bring this guy down!

After their team jutsu Machi felt relieved. Up... until Rikuto got back to his feet, smoking, his shirt completely gone, fried to ashes. He was still up? No. He had to go down -now!

    "Lightning Cloak!"

Blue lightning sparked up around her, coating her body in a shocking self-harming boost. Her chakra was next to gone, this next attack would leave her completely depleted. She vanished, and appeared over Rikuto, just as he was recuperating, about to retaliate. Bringing up her fist, she yelled out, "Lightning Style: Strike Thirty Times!!! YRRAHHH!" She struck the top of his head, and a cage of electricity erupted from her fist all around Rikuto. His scream of pain instantly rang out as the bolts swam through his body. At the same time, the bolts shocked Machi, causing her intense pain as well. She was not yet proficient enough for this jutsu, forcing it was causing it to retaliate on herself. But, finally, as the electricity subsided, Rikuto's face had that blank stare, his body finally collapsing.

Machi fell out of the air, from where she had attacked Rikuto, hitting the ground. Within moments she was unconscious as well.

  • Shizuka dropped from the branch and stumbled over to Rikuto's unconscious body before yanking her shuriken out of his leg, folding it up to put back into the bag of weapons at her back.

Yasei collapsed to his knees, his fist steaming from the amount of punches he had thrown throughout the whole ordeal.

The silver-haired kunoichi dropped to her knees beside Rikuto, her pale hands searching his clothes for the scroll that they had gone to so much trouble to obtain. She had to refrain herself from slumping with the relief; it was a Heaven Scroll.

Now they had to make it to the middle of the forest, to the tall building where the teams gathered once they had both scrolls.

"Yasei, do you think you can carry Machi?"

The red-haired genin gave her a tired grin, "I'm insulted you would doubt me."

"We need to find somewhere to rest, but not too close to the meeting place, because there are teams who hoard scrolls from teams when they approach. And while your chakra supply is virtually endless, we all need a rest before we risk running into more teams."

Yasei nodded, gently lifting Machi into his arms bridal-style before he followed Shizuka deeper into the forest. The duo stopped when the reached a cave, close to the meeting place, yet not too close to be considered risky.

Shizuka slid down the cave wall, clutching her blood-soaked haramaki. It was getting harder for her to breathe, so she tugged her mask down so it dropped to her shoulders, the clear air soothing her lungs.

Yasei placed Machi softly on the ground, before he turned around to face Shizuka. But just as he was about to say something, he stopped, eyes wide. He raised a trembling finger at her face, and then his eyes widened even further when he pointed it at her stomach. The object of his finger's aim switched between the two until he screamed into his hands, "WHAT AM I MEANT TO DO?!"

"SHH! Baka!" Shizuka raised her free hand, pressing her index finger to her lips in a sign of silence, shout-whispering at the boy.

"But, this is the first time I've ever seen your face!" Yasei whispered to her, crawling to sit beside her. The next things he said transitioned from flirt to concerned in a matter of seconds, "And while I might say that it's an extremely pleasant surprise; you're hurt and that matters more, especially since I don't know how to help."

    "Yasei, I'll be fine."

She felt exposed. Her mask had made it so much easier for her to mask her emotions. It may not have kept much from her best friend, but it still did keep some things from him, and so she felt pathetic without it.

  • As they remained in the cave, recuperating from their arduous battle against Rikuto's team; who had honed monstrous skill in a place they called 'the Wastes'. Two of Team 4 seemed to be in relatively okay senses as they caught their breath, but the Uchiha was completely out of it, her chakra system quite depleted.

A familiar voice to the two sounded, with that friendly, feminine tone, "Hehe, seems I might have to provide my aid once again." A familiar face appeared as a girl stepped into the cavern's door way. It was Sheena, Machi's slightly older sister from the Lightning Country. She offered a smile at them, as she came over to her unconscious half-sister. "I'll give all the help I can... Haha, you guys didn't really catch much of a break did ya? Fought some tough teams back-to-back. Wish I was so lucky! J-K! Anyway, is everyone alright?"

  • Shizuka nodded weakly, "Help your sister first, I'll deal with this moron." Reaching into the bag of weapons at her back, the silver-haired kunoichi pulled out a roll of gauze, and started binding the hands of a pouting Yasei.

While the red-haired boy would normally have whined about her calling him a moron, he knew better. Shizuka was hut and he didn't want to make it any worse for her by complaining.

Shizuka ignored the pain that flared at her torso, the wound still staining her blue haramaki with fresh blood. Stop being so weak and pathetic! This is nothing! Besides, didn't you swear to never let pain get to you ever again?
