  • After almost an hour, Alexander finally found his room, room #327 on the third floor of Victor Hall on the far end of campus, and opened the door. The suite consisted of two rooms and a common area connecting them. Each room could house two people, allowing up to four per suite for when attendance was high. He looked about the common area. It was plain and empty, save for a shoe shelf by the door and a broom and dustpan wedged between it and the wall. On either end of the common area were vanities, each equipped with a small sink, a mirror, and two medicine cabinets, also equipped with small mirrors of their own.The room smelled of dust, plastic, and wood, with a hint of dry rot.

"Guess this is home for now." Alexander shrugged as he inserted his key into his door, the one on the left side of the wall, and opened it. The room was just as simple as the common area. There were two beds, two desks, two nightstands, and two small dressers. There were two nooks in the wall that appeared to be open-faced closets as well. On the far end of the room was a wide window that overlooked most of the campus. It was actually a pretty nice view.

He stretched, popped his back, neck, and knuckles, and then headed back out of his room-- locking the door behind him, of course, to begin moving in.

Another two hours later, Alexander sat heavily on the bed closest to the window and sighed. Before him lay a number of boxes, duffle bags, and two backpacks. Fencing gear, food, clothes, generic school supplies, his flute, sheets, a pillow, and his computer were all within the pile.

His stomach growled and he looked at his watch. 3:17. The teen groaned and fell back into bed. He had missed lunch by almost an hour.

Roleplaying: Unmei Sat on her bed, she had her own room, on account of her "conditions". The head masters family was friends of hers, since the job was passed down in the family, staying here was not a problem. She got up and lay on the Ottoman by the window. She began to sing softly to herself. She was in the tower of the school, the very top. The room was small but no one came up here anymore. So while she stayed here during the week it was not a problem.
She owed a cottage in the village, she stayed there on weekend and holidays but with no car it was hard to get there everyday.

  • After rummaging through his stuff, Alexander eventually found the stash of protein bars he'd packed for all-night study sessions and devoured two before heading back outside to explore the campus grounds. He walked to and fro along the outskirts of campus for a bit before scouting out the buildings where most of his classes would be held. As such, it wasn't hard to find the dojo, which was rather large compared to most other dojos, though that was probably due to the multitude of arts practiced there. He made special note of that building's location since he'd be returning there frequently in the coming days.

Alexander explored for an hour more before heading to the cafeteria, which had been open for forty-five minutes by now.

  • OOC: I apologize for my hiatus. I had to drop everything I was doing and focus on my school after a particularly bad performance on a round of tests.

IC: Alexander quickly wolfed down his meal-- as usual-- and decided to go for another walk around the campus, this time paying more attention to everything. He stopped for a moment to inspect the flowers in the bed he had passed during his walk with that girl-- Mei, he recalled, was her name. He knelt by the flowers and examined them closely.

Maybe it had something to do with the motion? He wondered to himself, perplexed by what he had seen earlier. The teen stood up and walked past the flower bed several times as different speeds and angles of approach. After the fifth or sixth pass, he stood in front of the flowers for a minute and waved his arms in increasingly exaggerated movements.

Unmei could see the boy from her room and suppressed a laugh.she got up and left the room to join the boy outside. She krept up behind him "What on earth are you doing?"

  • OOC: PEBBLES!!!!

IC: "W-WAHHH!" Alexander shouted in suprise, spinning around and standing up on one foot while his arms froze mid-wave. He stood in the strange position for several moments, with nothing moving but his eyes as he looked at Unmei and the area behind and around her before quickly dropping his arms and leg and standing casually like a normal person.

"Oh. It's... just you." The teen said, sounding incredibly tense. He sighed and his shoulders slacked. "You scared the daylights out of me, Mei." He laughed, scratching the back of his head. "I was just trying to figure out the trick with these flowers. Earlier today they bloomed as you walked by, so I figured a different motion would get them to do something else... Kind of dumb, I know."

    :D

    Roleplaying:

Unmei felt her stomach drop. "I guess it could have been just a trick of the light. The opening ceremony is about to start, so lets go." She Smiled gesturing to the main building.

  • Alexander looked at the flowers with disappointment before following Unmei to the main building. "A trick of the light..?" he mumbled. The teen thought about the spectacle he'd seen during the short walk to the main building of the school. It occured to him after a few moments that he had missed breakfast. Perhaps what he saw was a reasult of his hunger, he decided.

  • Unmei hoped her lie would fool the human . she entered the hall the slip past the loud people that had already gathered there. She stood alone, where her class should be standing.

  • OOC: I just realized I have no clue how schools are supposed to work with this kind of thing.

...And that I don't know what class Alexander would be in. :/

    IC:
Alexander weaved his way through the mass of people as he looked for where his class ought to be. Unfortunately for him, he had no idea who else was in his class. The fact that the signs marking where the classes should gather were either obscured by people or not there in the first place didn't help at all.

After a minute or two of searching, the teen sughed with resignation and asked a more knowledgeable-looking person -- really just the closest guy to himself-- where his class should be. The guy pointed Alexander to a spot on the outskirts of the mass of people where only a handful of figures were. Alexander thanked the guy and made his way to the area, annoyed that he couldn't figure it out on his own -- and that he had passed through that very same spot twice while trying to find his class.

  • Well, you basically make up your own timetable, configured around why you were given your place in the school for example; Unmei can sing, do art and play the chello. So she could have singing lessons in the morning, art lessons midday and chello practice after lunch. For after school she could go to quire.
And since its a specialized school with limited students, classes depend on what year you are in, so this is Unmei's "first" year, she would be at the front of the hall.

Unmei glanced around at all the unfamiliar faces. She had been here 3 years ago. So by now everyone who new Her would be gone, either finished completely or moved to the second building.

  • OOC: Okay then. This is Alexander's first year at the school, but his third year of high school. That would make him a third year here too, I guess. Please correct me if I got that wrong.

IC: Alexander looked around at everyone around him. If the entire student body was comprised of the people in this building, then this school would be significantly smaller than his last school, which was the one of the largest in the country.

  • Yep.

The headmistress took her place at the front of the hall "Alright, settled down everyone." She called, bringing the loud chat to a humm and to a stop altogether. "A new year, new students, new talents! As always we will hold a show for the musically gifted, then one for other talents. Those who win will represent the school for that event in uncoming competitions. " She explained. "As for classes please see your a located teachers and find which time slots and room you will meet in." She gestured into the main hall, where a large display labelled "student notices."

  • Alexander noted the Student Notices display and pulled a neatly folded scrap of paper from his pocket, unfolding it quickly. He scanned the paper, which held all the information about his new daily schedule. Seeing that all of his classes, teachers, and rooms were listed, he folded the paper back and returned it to his pocket and waited for the headmistress to finish her speech.

  • "Your dorm rooms are displayed at the back of the halls, boys and are not permitted to visit each others dorms. That will be all, student body dismissed." The headmistress finished up and walked off the stage.

  • "I guess that puts me ahead of the game." Alexander said with a shrug, pleased that he had taken care of the most pressing things already. With that much time suddenly freed up in his schedule, Alexander decided that now would be a good time to grab his flute, find a quiet spot, and play for a bit. He had always enjoyed topping off his days with some music, and he doubted people would appreciate him playing in his room. High notes in a small room can be more than a little irksome to most ears.

With that in mind, the teen spent the next several minutes walking back to his room, grabbing his silver flute, and searching around campus for a peaceful secluded spot. Though it took quite a bit of searching, Alexander eventually found one such spot: a small garden furnished with two stone benches tucked away behind what he assumed was a storage building at the edge of the campus. It was the perfect spot.

After approving of his surroundings, he sat down on one of the benches, took a deep breath, and put his lips to the mouthpiece of the flute. The next moment, his mind went blank, his eyes closed, and Bach's Sonate für Flöte & obligates Cembalo filled the air in the secluded little garden. The teen became utterly tranced, not even noticing when he began to sway gently to the flow of the music as his fingers moved gracefully across the flute's surface, driven by pure muscle memory.
