  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 14px;][justify][sub]a young kitten, barely able to stand on his four white paws, wobbled his way along the camp ground. looking down, he watched his small paws as he stepped over dirt, grass, small rocks and sticks and other form of debris. this whole idea of walking was new to him, as he was used to dragging himself along the ground with his front paws and pushing with his back. but he was getting older now, and growing fast - which meant that it wasn't before long that he was able to stand and sort of move on all fours.

the slight wind of the day wrapped itself around pal's dull brown fur, pushing it and sending it in all directions. he was still a ball of fluff, and a tiny one at that - but it was alright with him. it kept him warm.. sort of. he was taken in by a lovely feline of the name showpaw, and although he was too small at the time to remember anything but blizzardclan, he would grow to be incredibly grateful for the young male in time. before long he smacked his head into a small boulder - since he was looking at his paws and not up he wasn't able to tell that it was there. palmer fell onto his bottom and decided to press himself against it, looking around with huge brown eyes, waiting for something to happen. he didn't know how to call out a meet and greet or he would have done so, but he secretly hoped that he would get to meet some of blizzardclan's valued members today. maybe he would be one of their valued members one day. the thought of it was exciting.

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 340px; color: white; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;][hr][justify]Decemberkit wasn't sure of many things at all, but she knew for a fact that this tiny floof was adorable. Decemberkit herself wasn't all that old, but she was older than this kitten so she was pretty sure she was allowed to think that. The young feline padded over, offering the younger cat a weak smile. What if he didn't like her? What if she was annoying? "Um, hi," she managed to greet. "I'm Decemberkit," she introduced herself, and quickly felt stupid for waiting for a reply. He was no more than a few weeks old--he probably couldn't respond. Ugh, why was she such an idiot?

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 14px;][justify][sub]turning his head, the kitten let out a little squeal. hopefully she hadn't seen his embarrassing smash into the rock - that wouldn't look very good on his part, would it? although palmer was glad the first to approach him was another kitten. she was still older but that was alright with him. he had in fact understood what the other said to him. he knew hi was a form of greeting, and he repeated it now. hi, palmer echoed. this was a word he'd said before on a few occasions. next was her name - he knew this too. what she said before her name was just a form of introductory, he supposed, which he also had used before. i'm palmer. he spoke. it was choppy but it was good enough for now.

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 340px; color: white; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;][hr][justify]As Palmer spoke, Decemberkit's face lit up like sneakers on a 5th grader. She was elated that he could talk after all. This was great! She looked incredibly happy upon discovering this, and it took a moment of fumbling before she could string together another sentence. "It's so nice to meet you!" she gushed. She paused for a moment, looking slightly unsure of herself again. "So... um... do you want to be friends?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 14px;][justify][sub]her excitement made the little kitten giggle. she threw together another few words for him, and he caught most of them. he took from it that she was happy to meet him, and he nodded afterwards. me too! the other paused once more, and spoke again. she wanted to be friends? of course! who would turn down an offer like that? i do! he meowed, proud of himself for already making friends so soon. and someone close to his age too? it would be wonderful!

Decemberkit had stiffened, prepared to hold in tears when he rejected her invitation of friendship. The look on her face when that wasn't what happened was one of pure delight. She took another few moments to compose herself again, although it was a bit hard through the excitement of having a friend. "That's.. great! So..." What did friends do again? Didn't they play games or something? "Um... what do you... what do you want to do?"

palmer could sense her constant shifts in mood, even at his age. he couldn't quite understand it yet, but pal would definitely work on it sooner or later. yeah! he agreed with decemberkit, and tipped his head when she trailed off for a few moments. the dull brown kitten waited to see what she would say next. it was a question. what did he want to do? oh, he had no idea at all. since this was his first friend, he didn't exactly know what friends did either. hmm. the male thought for a bit, before conjuring up the obvious thing to do. let's.. he desperately searched for the words in his head. play a game!

Decemberkit thought for a moment, feeling greatly encouraged by this development in their hopefully long-term friendship. 'What kind of games do friends play?" she mused, mostly to herself. She blinked, looking around as if hoping to get some sort of hint as to what games to play. "How about hide-and-seek?" she suggested hesitantly. That was a game she'd heard of before, and it sounded pretty straightforward. She'd probably be at a bit of a disadvantage with her larger size and fluffy white pelt, but that didn't occur to her at that second.

    [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 465px; text-align: justify;]neville padded over, smiling awkwardly. hi. I'm Neville.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 14px;][justify][sub]the kitten nodded back. he had heard of this game a couple times before, although he had never played it. now was his chance. oo, that's good! he squeaked, before turning to neville. hi! wanna play? he asked and lifted a paw in the air to wave at the other.

His son already had a friend! A smile lit up the feline's face. Ah, he remembered when he had made his first friends in WindClan. Camerapaw and Sol-- well, Sodapop. They were gone now, but thinking back to when their friendship first begun to develop filled him with nostalgia. When really it happened just a few months ago, heh. "Of course you know me." Showpaw stated with a smug, toothy grin as he approached. He'd be a bit worried if the child he adopted didn't know who he was. "Mind if I participate in this lovely game of hide and seek?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 14px;][justify][sub]palmer's face flickered with excitement as his adoptive father hopped onto his meet and greet bandwagon. hi! i do! he mewed, lifting a paw to wave at the other. yeah, you can join! the dull brown kitten meowed, a smile now stretching across his face. he was starting to feel right at home now.
