  • (Did someone say... A CHANGE IN THE MOOD? :P)

A character, whom definitely identified as female, appeared on the TV. Steven, whom was enjoying the secret ending, whispered to himself, "It's Earl's mother!"

  • The small gem blushed a darker shade of green at the compliment."Thanks."Her overly rude and smart-mouthy attitude changed almost completely, at least, towards Arden for the time being. Maybe this earthling isn't so bad after all Peridot looks at the girl with a puzzled complexion."Books? What are those?"

  • Arden looked away for a moment, pondering how to explain it in a way that made sense. "Erm...." She picked up her notebook as an example. "Books are kind of like this. Instead of having screens, we use books to contain the knowledge we have. Some books are just fake stories for fun, too. Some have pictures to show what you're reading about, but a lot of them usually don't." She set it aside once more. "The one that I have is called a notebook. That means I can write my own information in it."

  • ("A change in the mood"
    My screen-name is Moodswing
    this all adds up.

P.S. earlier today I had an idea of something that should totally be a meme and it kinda relates to this change in the mood thing I did. xD)

  • "Oh,so like a report log.Except those have digital hologram scans of what the data is portraying. " Peridot makes a slight connection and blinks when Arden was done explaining the concept of books. "Interesting.." She suddenly frowns and pounds her little fist on the couch cushion."I wish I had my limb enhancers and my gear..then I could write all of this down in my logs.."

  • "Yeah, something like that." Arden confirmed, twirling her pencil between her fingers like a mini baton. She was about to question the meaning of 'limb enhancers' but realized the only thing that could mean. The thought of a bigger Peridot brought a stupid grin to her face and she quickly turned away, desperately trying to muffle her amused giggling. No matter how she looked at it, kitten-sized Peri did not suit a larger form. She was far too cute for that.

  • Peridot's face flushed dark green at the sound of her muffled laughter."What?"Her voice is almost like a childish wail."What's so funny?Something I said?"The green gem stands up on the couch, trying to look taller.

  • Arden held her breath for a moment to compose herself before turning back to the small gem. "No, no. I just had a silly thought." It wasn't entirely a lie. Seeing Peridot trying to look taller was nearly enough to break her down again, but she forced herself not to begin laughing hysterically. "I didn't mean to offend you." She offered as compensation, though her voice was a tad higher than usual which was the result of holding back her giggle-fit.

  • The little gem's eyes widened as she realized what was going on. "Oh.I see how it is." She crosses her arms and her face is darkened with embarrass-enduced blush."You think it's funny cause I'm..you're taller than me." Peridot's pitch rose as she grew more and more flustered. She points at Arden," I'm average and everyone else isn't." Her tiny fists clench.

  • Arden wracked her brain for something that might cool down the little gem, but she couldn't think of anything to say that didn't have the possibility of upsetting her further. "Er...." She began talking, planning to just wing it and hope for the best. "Alright, sure. If it helps, let's think of it that way. You being--You're height," She quickly corrected herself, "is normal. Mine is abnormal, alright?" She tried compromising. Huh....that kinda dashes my self-esteem. The teen observed, but kept that thought to herself.

  • "Yes." Peridot mumbled and crossed her arms again.Though she looked like she had calmed down a bit after Arden had plainly agreed with her.Which was rather satisfying considering nobody ever agreed with the green gem.Or even pretended to.

  • Arden sighed in relief, glad she had managed to avoid any conflict. "So... Do you maybe wanna come walk down the beach with me? No one has to know we left." She suggested with something of a mischievous smirk on her face. Of course the Crystal Gems wouldn't be told a thing about it, so no harm done, right?

  • Shocked at the request, Peridot answers with,"Uh..sure?" Her mind instantly went for the assumption that the girl wanted something from her.Not even considering that perhaps Arden just wanted to chat with her and get to know her better. She scoots off the couch and makes a noise resembling that of a growl once her feet touched the floor. She hated being short.

  • Arden smiled happily at the response she recieved and hopped up as well, hiding her notebook under a cushion for later and tucking her pencil behind her ear. She headed towards the door and held it open, backing up slightly. "After you." She said politely, grinning over at Peridot.

  • "Thanks."Peridot steps outside carefully; she had herself convinced that some idiot would come barrelling over and shove her back inside. Though after a few moments of peering around she seemed more at ease.

  • Arden carefully closed the door behind them, taking a deep breath of fresh air. Luckily enough, the day was still clear and bright. Beckoning for the green gem to follow, Arden cautiously descended the staircase, hoping not to make a fool of herself. Alas, on the last step, she tripped over her own feet and landed face-first on the sand. Hurriedly jumping back up, she brushed herself off while spitting out the tiny grains. Despite a couple scratches on her face and possible bruises on her arms, she started laughing at herself, shaking her head in disappointment at her inability to display any grace at all.

  • Her cheeks puff up to hold her breath in an attempt to force her laughter down.Unable to conceal her laughter any longer, Peridot began to giggle which eventually turned into cute little dorkish snorts. "You should've seen your face!"She trips on the FIRST step.#karmasab**** "Oh my stars!"

  • Arden rolled her eyes, though she was still chuckling at herself as well. "Yeah, yeah I get it. My misfortune is hilarious." She mumbled sarcastically, gingerly rubbing her elbow and wincing. "Hurry up or I'm leaving without you, Peridork." She called, turning away and starting to walk. Really this was just an excuse to make sure that if her eyes were tearing up from the fall they would go unnoticed.
