Coffin picked up a rose and examined it. As the thorns on its stem poked his finger, he began to bleed out. Coffin raised a finger and let the blood drip onto it's white petals, staining it. A few minutes before, he had his night feast of human blood from a thief. He had helped police catch a criminal, but in the act, dozens of light sources poured onto the vampire, causing him a lot of grief. Before he could take a sufficient amount of blood, the vampire had abandoned the body and got out as fast as he could.
Now he was well away from any light source, in the safety of a dark garden. It was located in a decrepit mansion which appeared to not have been inhabited for quite some time.
