upset about responses to my reports

  • in the past, i've reported threads or posts for using offensive words (such as r*pe) and it's been completely brushed off.
i do not mean i didn't get a response, it was simply taken as a sort of "freedom of speech" and "that members can roleplay sexually explicit content if they want to" even though that's not what i was reporting! even if that was the reason, i am not apart or allowed in the 18+ forum, this was on the main unrestricted site!
i feel like the use of offensive words should be stressed on this website due to the fact that i have ran into many accounts of people using the word r*pe and they haven't had to pay a consequence. if that can't be the case, at least make it so that the word is removed and the user is notified about it.

i'm also not sure if i'm posting this thread in the right area to get help about this but if so, i apologize.

  • The site is PG-13, so users are allowed to use some explicit words, such as r*pe
If it bothers you, I'd suggest going to your profile and add it to your censor list, so whenever someone does use word you don't want to be exposed to, you will see an asterix

  • people who use rape in roleplay purpose without roleplaying it are not breaking any rules. essentially, what is being said is, we crack down on those who are actually roleplaying rape in explicit manners. but people who use rape for plot purposes, but don't roleplay is out, are not doing any harm as there's no means of explicit content happening. just because they use the term "rape" doesn't mean they actually roleplay rape. if they had actually made detailed content we do not need to know, then yes, they would had been removed and warned for.

  • I think that that word is allowed though because its not considered a curse word, that's not to say the meaning behind the word isn't terrible but sometimes people use it in thread

  • i will do that, thank you!

i'm just watching out for other people since it can hurt people that have physiological damage due to having experiences with that. even though it is an explicit word, i don't think it should be thrown around so lightly.

edit: technically, it doesn't have to be a curse word to be offensive.
edit 2: if that's the reason then, i'll just make sure i look out for actual roleplays of it. i still don't like the fact that the word can be used in general but i won't bicker about it. thank you though.

Dittoing this, you can go to Profile > Modify my profile > Personal censor to access this section.

Edit; usually, some people will post trigger warnings stating some potentially triggering topics that may be mentioned in the thread.

  • OOO i did this same thing a while back. i just try to message the people personally, since it doesn't technically break the rules to just say the word, and remind them that discussing that topic could potentially be a trigger for people... however, when i was a mod, we got reports of actual roleplaying of these things, and those are definitely sufficient to remove threads from the site. i'm so sorry that it's not an actual rule and i hope it doesn't bother you too much in the future!!

(also i just saw that this was all basically covered by everyone else and i leave u with my only input: i hope u have a nice day love u all)

  • thank you for all of your responses!

i'll make sure if i see mentions of the word i'll message the user about it and i'll add it to my censor list.
