Letha immediately felt terrible for asking. "Jorrel I'm...I'm so sorry." She said softly. She looked down at her hands, which she wringed habitably. "How are you holding up...?"
-
"Im still clean"He aid almost in a desperate way. Only because he was honest and didn't want her thinking he was like that again. He didn't want to stop seeing his sons. "I..I just...Im not sure..I didn't really love her..But that baby was mine Letha...It was inncent our of all this mess..It didn't deserve to fade..but Im not sure if I would of been a good father to her.."
-
Letha looked up at him. "I understand." She said quietly, a look of empathy covering her face. "I'm proud of you for staying clean." She then said, giving him a weak smile. "And you would've been a good father. You have been to Jackson."
-
Jorrel weakly smiled "but notto Alec...i have time to make up for it"he sighed as he gentl held alec and kissed his head
-
Letha smiled wider. "We'd love that." She blushed, then looked around the place to cover up her red face. "Nothing's really changed here." She then brought her voice to a whisper. "It's...it's kind of nice. I feel like I'm at home again..." She sighed, turning back to him when she felt her face turn back to it's normal colour.
-
Jorrel bit his lip as he watched her. She was so beautiful..her skin still made her shine and her eyes just seemed to be endless portals "Well..I know we aren't exatly close anymore. But if your sister gets tired of you...I don't mind sleeping on the couch. This was your home...Jacksons home...your welcome here"
-
Letha chuckled, smiling a bit. "I'm sure she'll get sick of us soon. I might have to take you up on that offer." She looked down at her hands again, her long lashes close to brushing against her cheekbones.
-
Jorrel smiled when she didn't find that too forward. He looked down at Alec and smiled wider "Hear that Alec..you might be staying with daddy soon. And then you and Daddy and Jakson can form their own gang"He joked as he rocked him slowly.
-
Letha laughed again at his remark. "Partners in crime." She added, then stood up and stretched. "Well, this has been lovely, but I'm still in cleaning mode so I'm itching to go back and clean those filthy counters." She made a gross face. "I swear she's only cleaned them like, once."
-
"Well if your leaning it might be easier if you didn't have these two making more mes....Maybe I ould watch them today?"He suggested as he let Jakson climb up on the couch as he hugged Alec.
-
Letha bit the corner of her upper lip. She wasn't too sure about letting him take care of the kids, as she hasn't seen or been around him for quite some time, but she gave in because she knew they'd be safe. "They'd love that. Plus it would be nice to be able to clean without them making a mess." She nodded. "Sure. I could come pick them back up in two hours?"
-
Jorrel smiled wider as he nodded "Sure ts fine..have fun cleaning"He joked
-
Letha stuck out her tongue at him playfully, then walked over to Jackson and kissed him on the forehead. "Mommy'll be back soon angel." She smiled, then kissed Alec and said goodbye.
-
Jorrel gently pt Alec on the coch before he walked Letha to the door. He sighed "Thank you for trusting..and believing me enough to let me watch them on my own"He said calmly since this was the first time he had been on his own.
-
Letha faintly smiled at him. "Of course." She said, then waited a moment before turning away and walking back to her car.
-
Jorrel closed his door with a sigh before running a hand through his hair. Damn...why did I have to mess up and play around with the most beautiful girl I know. My ex-wife. Dammit. He felt so stressed about what he had done and how he had the chance but blew it. So for the next two hours he spent distracting himself with his boys. He was half asleep with a sleeping Alec and Jackson in his arms with a book on the floor.
-
After cleaning hard and tirelessly, she eventually returned to Jorrel's to pick up the boys. She knocked on the door awkwardly, then stood there holding her hands.
-
Jorrel woke up and rubbed hi eyes "The doors not locked..ome on in"He smiled knowing it was Letha. He didn't want to move and wake up the boys.
-
Letha entered, her heart buzzing as she saw her boys asleep on Jorrel. "Awww..." She said quietly, smiling. She slowly made her way over, making sure she didn't wake them. She then sat beside Jorrel and Jackson, then delicately moved a piece of Jackson's hair away from his face.
