  • "Gods forbid the latter," I said, shuddering at the mere thought of Pacem being more moody than he already was. But the talk of mates soon left me wondering. I'd known Pacem since he and I were only babies - our bond was unbreakable, I knew for sure. But I also knew that he would have soon need to have his attentions primarily focused on the mate he found suitable - and the hatchlings they could end up having. I would never be jealous, but I had a right to b worried about him. He was the closest family I had. Gods, he was like a brother. And though we often got ourselves into frequent banter, we always had each other's backs.

"I just don't want him to get hurt," I finished, after voicing my thoughts to Catya, eyes a bit troubled as I looked at her, hoping she would understand.

  • I smiled slightly as I listened and kissed his forehead. "I know, I don't want him to get hurt either." I whispered, glancing over at the Stormcutter. Even if I knew Pacem only a few days, I didn't want him to get hurt. No job occupation could ever make me want to see an innocent dragon in pain. I looked at Pacem for a long moment in silence. "A female with blue or green scales would make a perfect mate for him, I have a few I raised on my own back on my homeland. They travel to visit me when they can. If you both wish and have no problems with, I could introduce you to them? Nothing for a future mate, no no, just friends from another world." I said to Hugo and Pacem, eyes hopeful. And I meant what I said. I did think a female with those scale colors would match him best, but I wouldn't intrude them to my own dragons for purposes of finding a mate. Pacem had to find his mate himself, I merely only wanted my dragons at home to have fa friend outside the island they couldn't leave because of my father. If they could leave they would be with me now, despite my job occupation. Trevor and Evangeline ran off to go pack after saying they'd be back soon for supper, both hoping I was making fish and veggies. I looked at Loki for a long time, eyes narrowed on the Night Fury. "Loki, would you mind being my escort to Vellore?" Vellore was the name of my homeland, and I was hoping that he would want to be my escort ride.

  • Who, me? Uh, I mean, no I wouldnt mind, just that- Loki was stopped halfway through his sentence by a venemous glare from Pacem, and he clapped his mouth shut, not wantin to say something that would get himself screwed. Yeah, no, I would not mind at all, he finished, forcing a smile to his muzzle while subtly shooting a 'I'm going to get you back later for this' glance at Pacem, who just blew it off as easily as wind might blow dust. "Go get your saddle, Loki," I told the Night Fury. "We'll leave when everyone is ready.

"I'm sure we'll both be delighted to meet them," I told Catya once Loki was out of earshot, smiling at Pacem when he nodded his approval. Yes, I agreed that maybe a teal or veridian female best matched Pacem's russet red apparell, givin him a fiery look. He needed something that could temper it, or match it in a subtle way. But meeting new dragons was something that I always looked forward to. So did the dragons - there was always a buzz around the Hold each time a new one showed up, especially for those who had known their whole life living here. A new arrival was therefore a special event, each having tyeir own set of news to share of how the world was changing in distant lands.

  • Even though I caught Pacem's glare he sent to Loki, I couldn't help but smile when the Night Fury accepted my request. "Thank you Loki," I said, moving away from Hugo and kissed the top of the toothless dragon's head. "Hugo love, shall we go pack?" I suggested, knowing well that he needed to pack quite a bit which was why I said it would take a day or two to arrive in Vellore. Looking back at Hugo, I fixed the belt I had holding the tunic to my body, a look of contentment with the way I looked and those around me was on my face. I loved Hugo deeply, I was so excited and greatful that he wanted to accompany without a second thought. Walking to him, I gave him a kiss to the tip of his nose, humming a soft tune. "We have a lot go pack after all,"

  • //Lol I think I forgot to mention that Night Fury's have retractable teeth.

"That we do," I agreed, smiling when Catya kissed the tip of my nose and hummed that soft tune I had by now come to find endearing to me. "Alas, work never seems to end," I added, laughing a little at the circumstances. I wasnt off put by it - rather, I lived for it. Guess it was just from the many years I spent with the dragons. "Pacem, I believe we will need your assitance. Mind fetching the sacks from the linen chamber for us?" I asked my Stormcutter friend, leading Catya back into the Hold by the hand, Pacem following close behind. He nodded and loped off down he hallway, stepping past a clan of Deadly Nadder's who were getting ready for the coming for the coming journey.

They werent the only ones. The whole Hold seemed to be in a bustle, dragons flying to and fro trading off necessities in midair as each went to stock whatever provisions they might need for the two days travel. I couldnt help but smile at the sight. "Quite the busy lot, arent they?" I said sidelong to Catya, wrapping my arm around her shoulders and hugging her gently.

  • I know they do c:
    //

A smile spread widely across my lips when we entered the Hold. The sight of the dragons eagerly getting ready for the journey warmed my heart. "Busy they are," I agreed, looking up at my blonde lover with cheerful eyes. I wrapped my arm around his waist and hugged him back. "Even if my father is dying, I couldn't have asked for a better man by my side to help me through this." I whispered as I looked back to the commotion before us. "I lost my mother to a sickness just a few years after I was born. Now I am losing my father to a sickness? I know I should be hurting right now, but it is very hard to show my pain. After all, my father and I didn't end off on good terms." I said softly, looking at him briefly. I gave him a squeeze and detatched myself from him to go pack his clothes.

  • I watched Catya go with a small frown, mulling over what she had told me. I couldnt blame her for not feeling much pain after being estranged from her father for what I assumed to be a long time, but if her father died without the two of them making amends, then it would be all the more worse. Which reminded me - if all the exiles were being summoned, that meant that her father was going to announce a new chief. Yet another thing to ponder over on the way over to Vellore. Til then, I filed that information away, to come back to later. "Mind if I help you with those?" I asked Catya, tilting my head over her shoulder to kiss her cheek before moving to take some of the clothes and put them in their respective sack.

  • "Not at all," I responded to his words, moving over to give him space as I packed his clothes in their respective sacks. To be very homes, having traveled so often, I was able to pack multiple items of clothing and outfits in just one sack. I assumed he didn't want that, and I was right. Humming softly as we packed, I ignored a few strands of my naturally white hair that fell from my braid into my face as I strolled here and there around the room. While packing his clothes, I changed out of his tunic and into my own, tossing the shirt over in the pile I made to go wash in as soon as I finished packing. He didn't have a lot go wash, but since we didn't know how long we'd be there, I wanted to have enough of his own clothing packed with enough room to return with clothing I would be more than happy to make him from the fresh cotton, sheep's wool, and the fine linen from my homeland.

  • I was just finishing setting aside the last of the linens into the last sack when Pacem returned carrying the bags filled with our provisions from his jaws. "Thank you my friend," I told him gratefully, taking the bags from him with a smile before setting down along with the other sacks. Pacem just nodded his head, and remained silent for a few moments, before asking: You think maybe we should tell Ouranos we're going? I looked up as soon as I registered the question, a thoughtful frown crossing my lips briefly. "Probably. Yes, I think we should. You go on ahead, I'll catch up in a little bit," I told the Stormcutter, watching as he nodded assent and left Catya and I alone.

  • I looked over at Hugo with confused eyes. "What did Pacem say?" I asked as I folded the dirty clothes, getting ready to go wash them. Sitting on the floor cross legged, I looked back at the clothes I was folding, waiting patiently for whatever the answer may be. I didn't really know what to say. I was still trying to process everything. First my father exiles an handful of the tribes warriors, two being his very own children. Secondly I lose my dragon. Thirdly I end up finding my soulmate in a man I never would have thought I'd love in a place I never thought I'd be. Lastly my father calls us back to our homeland for what? He is dying from an illness that took away my mother. Is he trying to make amends wit us exiles or just trying to appoint a new chief? Does he want to right his wrongs between my brother and myself?

  • "He asked we could say goodbye to a friend of his before we left," I told Catya, sitting down on one of the crates holding dragon nip with a sigh. "I dont believe I ever told you about him. His name is Ouranos, and he's pretty much the big grandfather dragon that no one really bothers. Pacem is about the only dragon he'll tolerate. Anyone else he will literally ice upon the spot. He's that big of grump -even bigger than Pacem." I laughed slightly upon that last admittance, before sighing heavily, old memories that I had buried coming back again - memories I didnt want to think about.

  • I smiled slightly as I listened. There was always one dragon that was the oldest and most feared in each region that few had the opportunity to speak with. Upon hearing the end of his words, I could feel the change in his mood and immediately went to him. "Hey, my dear, it is okay." I whispered, placing my hand on his shoulder softly. "Do not bring memories you do not wish to relive."

  • "It's alright, I'm fine. Really," I reassured Catya, clasping her hand that was on my shoulder with my own gently. "Sometimes I have to remember...to remind me about what I still have, and what I have to live for. I cant get rid of them...they're a part of me now, as you and Pacem and Loki - and all the dragons here - are in my heart and soul. Abd I couldnt ask for anything better." I smiled then, pulling Catya in for a gentle, yet passionate kiss, eyes closing and heart welling up with the love I felt for her.

  • I couldn't help but smile when I heard his words, happily returning kiss. I touched his cheek as we kissed, enjoying the wat his lips felt on mine. Love swelled in my heart as we kissed, moving closer to him so I was straddling his waist. As my hands started to roam his chest, making their way underneath his tunic, I heard the sound of a small sneeze at the door and pulled away to find the same little teal scaled Stormcutter female dragonet I had rocked to sleep a few nights ago sitting at the open door trying to get a cobweb off her muzzle. I laughed at the sight. "Oh my, come here sweetie," I said the the creature whom looked at me with wide brown eyes and walked over to me as I sat on the floor. Smiling warmly, I helped her removed the cobweb.

  • "That's Jasiri," I told Catya, smiling as I watched her remove the cobwebs from the dragonet's face. "In the tongue of the desert people, it means 'brave', and Gods has she lived up to that title. Granted, she's somewhat encouraged by Loki as she spends the most time around him, but even so, she gets into enough trouble on her own." I chuckled. "I remember the time when she switched out a whole storage of dragon nip with fire flower dust. No one could stop sneezing for almost two days. Pacem and I automatically assumed that it was Loki's doing, so imagine our surprise when we found out he was innocent." Laughing, I fondly scratched behind Jasiri's head crest, smiling as she purred and moved into my hand briefly, before licking Catya's face and bounding off to go play with some other dragonets.

  • I smiled, giggling softly as he spoke. "A beautiful name for a beautiful dragonet." I commented as I leaned against him, wiping my face clean of her saliva. Looking up at him, I nudged the door shut with my foot and smiled. "Supper doesn't have to be made for a few more hours and there isn't a lot left to pack between us, do you want to lay down and relax or go find Pacem? I would like to meet Ouranos, after all." I said as I moved his hair from his face, kissing his forehead.

  • "Well, I don't want to keep Pacem waiting, but as far as I'm concerned, he's still going to tease us no matter what when we go to find him. Besides, I'm rather disinclined to move at the moment," I admitted, wrapping my arms around my lover with a smile as I kissed her forehead, nose, lips, and, after smirking slightly, the side of her neck. "Especially when I am holding such lovely woman in my arms," I added, chuckling and flushing a little at my own statement.

  • I smiled, humming as he kissed all over my face. "Hmm, maybe we don't have to go anywhere just yet," I whispered, moving so I was straddling his waist all over again. My cheeks turned a light shade of pink with his last statement. "And I am not feeling so inclinde to move being in the arms of such a handsome young man." I muttered as I leaned in, touching his lips in a gentle, passionate kiss. Something I will never want to stop doing is kiss him. Oh no, I don't think I'd ever get enough of him for as long as we live.

  • I hummed happily as our lips moved together in sync, her arms wrapped around my neck and mine around her waist. I swear, I could never get enough of our wonderful kisses. So gentle yet passionate. So sweet yet so intimate. But most of all, so invigorating. My heart couldn't help but beat twice as fast as it did. "Hmm, you said supper wouldn't be in a while, right?" I asked Catya, eyes taking a suggestive gleam as I smiled at her, one hand trailing along the small of her back to send shivers along her spine.
