I rolled my eyes, stretched, then unfolded my black wings. I took proud steps towards them and then looked back at Adele. I turned my gaze back on the three reapors with a death glare with hatred gleaming in them.




    "Don't show them that you can shift," I told Adele over my shoulder. "They don't like that."

    The reapors now noticed who their target was and broke into a angry run across the shore. The sand spraying around their black boots gave if a dramatic affect to the scene. The tattoos of all three lump nuggets were visible. One swung an axe at me and I saw it coming straight for my forehead. What a throw, it'll be a shame if someone would just...catch it.




    I stuck out my hand and felt the rough wood of the axe against my palm. I curled my fingers around the handle and pulled back my arm. I threw the axe back at them and I heard a body crumple to the ground. I looked at them and one was down, with their own axe neatly displayed between it's eyebrows. The other two reapors didn't even care, which isn't a surprise since they run on borax, nitre, calomel, and vitriol...the chemicals the Headreapors use to create their own monsters.[/fancypost]

    I paused and smirked, remembering an old trick I read in a library somewhere. I whistled. I watched the two reapors crumpled down to their knees with their ears clamped tightly around their ears.

    I turned to Adele and took back my dagger, I shoved it back in my bag. "They appear to be human, Adele," I looked back at them. "But they're brainwashed, drugged since they were born. They don't have have a say about their actions, the chemicals the Headreapors gave them only make them kill. Killing is all they do. These monsters..."




    I walked passed Adele and studied our landscape. "In case you were wondering, no spell can fix them. Every book I read says that it's scientifically impossible," I shifted my gaze to the moon. "We're making camp here for tonight. The reapors are asleep during the day."




    I sat down on the sand, looking up at Adele. "If you go in Reapor territory now, you'll kill both yourself and Clawdeen. You're going to have to...trust me, just this once."

    I thought about that question then tilted my head to the side. "I'm not so sure," I glanced at the reapors. "Maybe."




    My eyes narrowed down on the forest entrance where reapors come and go to do their pathetic work. "I'm taking the first watch," I grumbled. "Whatever you do, don't start a fire. Fire burns brighter in the darkness."

I wanted to take the first watch because I know I'm not going to be able to sleep here or in a tree, I don't feel safe. "I'm going to catch something to eat. See ya, don't start a fire."




    I flew up into the air and sped up to cloud-high. I paused and listened. I heard flapping of smaller wings, and a heartbeat thumping. I went somewhat North and his behind a mask of clouds. A goose was flying calmly inches away from me.




    I launched myself at the bird and got hold of it's neck. I snapped it backwards and smirked. I opened up my bag then took out a two empty glass bottles, I filled them up with clouds then floated back down to Adele. I dropped the goose between us and handed her a bottle. "Dinner is served," I tapped the two bottles and the clouds turned to water.

    I grabbed Adele by the hood of her shirt and dragged her up in the sky as the reapors began to point at us and shout. One even attempted to throw a spear that nicked my ear. The spellbook, I noticed, was still glowing in my bag which was a easy target. One shot at that bag and I could loose our medicine supply, my weapons, the goose, and our spellbooks. What can I say, fire burns brighter in the darkness.




    I bolted into the clouds, which was a dangerous thing to do when you're flying...in the dark. I can easily fly into a flock of birds or a drone with a camera on it that belongs to a scientist.




    I popped out of the clouds and took a deep breath in and a deep breath out. I looked down at Adele then back at the glowing bag. "You think the book cooked the goose?" I chuckled. [/fancypost]

    I tilted my secondary wing, flying left. I soared in the air until I found a pine tree. I dropped Adele on the highest branch and I settled down below her. I opened up my bag and pulled out the goose, which was cooked quite nicely and the two jars of water. I began to pluck the feathers from it, when one side was fatherless I cut it in half then splitted it up again. I have Adele a piece then placed the other half of the goose back in the bag.
