It was late december, nearing christmas and Carli was now homeless. On the run from her violent boyfriend. "It was theright thing"she told herself since she had fallen out of love with him agesago but stayed only because she was unwillingly tied to him. She was now 2 months pregnant and taking shelter on apark bench as the snow fell. All she had to keep warm waswhat she wore and a large coat draped overher as she silently cried trying to sleep but wastoo hungry to drift off properly.

Storm enjoyed walking outside during the winter. Her grey pea coat and dark skinny jeans kept her fairly warm. Walking through the park she was thankful for the hand-warmers in her pockets. Pulling out her phone she sees a message from her brother, who she was currently living with. She put it back in her pocket and looked around at the fresh snow that was falling.
-
Carli curled up she didnt care for people who walked past her and ignored her . She was shivering from the freeing layer of snow that was slowly coverkng her coat . She was still starving and was turning blue from the cold. She hadnomoney left since she spentit on the coat.
-
Continuing on her walk, she noticed a figure huddled on a bench. She could see the person shaking so she walked over and brushed the coat off, looking down at the girl. "Come with me, let's get you some food."
-
Carli jumped "Get your hands off me!"She said scared looking at the girl she thought she would do bad things to her . But she heard food and her stomach growled louder .
-
"Trust me, ok? I grew up on the streets 'round here. If you stay here you'll end up in worse shape then if you come with me. I'll tell you more on the way, and you can crash at my place if you want." She took her hand back, putting it back in her pocket.
-
Carli thought over it knowing she was right. "Fine..thank you"she said with a faint smile and gratefullness in her eyes as she got up. She covered herself with her coat to hide the brusing and the slight bump. She didnt want people to ask questions.
-
Storm said nothing, her eyes had been quick to notice the bump. Taking the girls hand gently, she led her to a small restaurant and got a table for two. Walking to the table after the waitress, she brushes back her coat to show a small knife, hidden for protection so the girl knows she's safe.
-
Carli was surprised "Why are you doing this for me?"she asked curiously since she had never known such kindness . She knew she was safe but somehow wanted to know more about this girl.
-
Sitting down, she sat her hands on top of the table. "Ask away." She watches the girl with curiosity.
-
"who are you? How old are you? Why are you doing this?"Carli asked calmly looking back at the girl who had basicly saved her life.
-
"My name is Storm. I'm 20 The reason why, you wouldn't believe me even f I told you." She looks down at the drink the waitress sits down in front of her.
-
Carli smiled "Oh really..I believe you owe me a explanation..and In return I will tell you all about why I was on that bench in the first place"She said before sipping the water that was in front of her. Instantly she just felt like she could trust storm. And she needed that trust.
-
Storm ponders the request for a moment. "Alright, well, my brother and I are on the run from some state troopers I don't remember where from. We inherited the mansion of a house we live in. I personally am bi, and he keeps getting on me about it. He keeps saying that no woman would ever love me. I made it my task to help the women I found because I know what it's like to be on these streets. I've been raped and abused and things you can't even explain." She goes silent.
-
Cali listenend and sighed "Thats horrible..Your brother oesn't seem that nice. And you may find someone who can loce you like you desere it. Im also bi, and I know what its like to be broken and used by someone you once loved"She said befre sipping her drink.
-
"He's an amazing person, don't think he isn't. He loves me for me, even if he doesn't necessarily agree.... I probably wouldn't be here still if it weren't for him." Her voice trails off, drinking from my cup.
-
Carli sighed "I used to be abused for being bi..its not the best but you get through it"she said quietly "I never been in love with a women though...its hard to find one who apcepts me and my troubles"she blushed slightly
-
"Just have to find the right one. I thought I had." Her face darkens, looking down. "She lied and cheated on me. I became afraid to love. Afraid to be me, constantly. It consumed me, making me ask, why was I not good enough? Was I truly that broken, or was it just because I was always working and had no free time to spend time with her.. I'll never know. I realized after that she wasn't worth it." She stops, about to continue before saying almost silently, "every other girl wasn't willing to go through a pregnancy, I ephod myself... I'm physically unable."
-
"You are not worthless. Not Broken I mean look at what you doing for me now. Im seriously grateful"She smiled but it faded when she said aout the pregnancy. "I mean...Im only 4 months..But it is hard. And I didn't really get a say in the matter..He just pinned me down and didn't wear protection. But if I loved someone ad we wanted a family I would go through with it so they didn't feel the pain"
-
She doesn't say anything, staring at her silently. "F-four months...?" She chokes on her words. "I...um...I had a miscarriage also...probably should mention that..."
