  • ooc: It's fine :D :D

"Ya" Kian responded, nodding. He was glad someone could remember his name, most people called him Kale. "You must have a really good memory. Most people call me Kale" he said, with another of his giggles, as the door swung shut behind him. And turned around and locked it, before turning back around and letting his eyes wander. He pulled on his beanie again, this time over his ears, and exhaled, watching his breath come out as a puff of white. "You going that way?" he asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.

  • Dominique's soft pink lips smiled once more when he heard their response, glad that he had gotten their name right. "You can say that, I have an eidetic memory and I saw your name on the cup. It's a nice name by the way.." He complimented warmly, looking over at them with his dark hazel eyes which stuck out from his lighter colored skin. He watched his breath escape his lips in a white puff, breathing through his lips now since it burned his nostrils to breath in the crisp cold air. He looked in the direction of where he needed to go before hearing Kian's voice, smiling and nodding as he gestured his shoulder in the direction. "Yeah, you?" He asked, tilting his head as he looked at Kian.

  • "Thanks" he said smiling. "When I ask my mum why she named me that her answer was because she really like Kale" he said with a giggle. "I asked why she didn't just call me Kale. She said because dad wouldn't let her" he added. "So I was almost called Kale. And ya. I'm going that way. House 5610" Kian replied with a grin.

  • Dominique smirked and tilted his head curiously as he listened to the backstory of his name, unable to hold back as he let out a laugh at the reason. "That's a new one.." He replied, grinning at him as a chuckle escaped his lips. When he heard their address, he smiled and nodded happily. "Really? I live really close to there. House 5718." He said warmly, "Let's get going before the snow comes down harder." He added, smiling kindly at Kian before beginning to walk with him down the thin ice coated sidewalk. "Backstory on my name. My mum had multiple miscarriages before me, so when I was worn I was seen as a gift from the lord as she said, which is what my name means or light of my heart. I was almost named Oliver though, I have a birthmark on my side that looks like an Olive branch. But my dad thought Dominqiue was more fitting..." He explained softly, glancing over at Kian since his gaze kept drifting up to look at the clouds.

  • Kian smiled. "Good thing our dad's seem smart when it comes to naming. If not we'd be Kale and Oliver" he said with a giggle. He looked over at Dominique and felt his checks flush. The boy beside him was very cute to him, though he probably didn't return the feelings. He saw his house coming up and decided to speak. "Well there's my house. Here." he pulled out a slip of paper and a pen and scribbled his number on it. "Here's my number. Call me whenever" he said, feeling his checks heat up even more. "Bye...light of my heart" he said, whispering the last part to where he hoped Dominique didn't hear it. He turned and walked up to his house, opening the door, and stepping inside of the warm house. The door clicked closed behind him, and he slid down, pulling his knees to his chest.

OCC: So that idea you had earlier? I think it should slowly start to happen now, and slowly work up to the part where Dominique gets kicked out. It's up to you though :)

  • OOC: Yep! :D Dominique is going to actually get home and his parents will get really mad when they see his colored hair. And Dominque will already develop a bit of a crush on Kian now too. This is going to be so cute!

Dominique grinned and let out the sweetest laugh at his response, finding the two names together sounding somewhat silly. When his grin faded to a smile, he looked over and saw them actually looking back at him. They were actually looking at each other for a while before both of them looked away at the same time, a shy giggle coming from Dominque as his cheeks turned bright red. Were they just staring at one another? It was rather cute how they blushed like that...Dominique's cheeks only darkened in color at the thought. He's never thought such things towards a male before...When they stopped in front of his house, he looked up and looked over the house, smiling at how pretty it looked in the winter. Dominique didn't notice that when he stopped, he slid forward a bit since the sidewalk was still very icey. Looking down, he tilted his head and smiled happily that he had their number, kindly taking the slip of paper and tucked it safely into his pocket. "Thank you, I'll talk to you later.." He replied warmly, looking at the male with a warming gaze before he began to walk forward, "Bye!" He replied, giving them a light wave before he looked back ahead and continued to walk home. He couldn't help but look back over his shoulder at them one last time, smiling before looking away in a bashful manor.

On his way home, he suddenly became a little nervous. His mother hated the thought of coloring his hair. He asked her several times in the past if he possibly could, but she always said no. Yet he did it anyway, now what will she say? Walking up to his house, he stepped inside and let out a sigh at how warm it was. His parents were in the living room, his father in the living room reading a book while his mother was making some hot chocolate for them in the kitchen. His mother looked up with a warm smile on her face before she saw Dominique's hair, narrowing her eyes. "Don't tell me you dyed your hair.." She murmured, moving around the counter and began to walk up to him. Dominique looked down shyly and rubbed the back of his neck. "I just wanted to try something new, that's all...It will wash out after a while, don't worry." He comforted, smiling nervously at his mother, but she didn't take that as an answer. "You go upstairs and wash out right now.." She said sternly, but Dominique hesitated. "But I just wanted to do something different! I hardly ever get do anything fun with my appearance because of you both!" He replied, getting an angrier tone to his voice. Right after he spoke, his mother slapped him hard across the face and he looked down at his feet with mixed emotions in his head. His mother glared down at him in disappointment. "Go wash it out.." She repeated. Dominique was shaking, slowly looking up but not at her, tears in his eyes. "Yes mother.." He murmured so faintly you could barely hear him. He quickly walked out of the room, tears running down his cheeks at how much it had stung. He went into his bedroom and set his bag down, quickly going into the bathroom. He got undressed and pulled out the slip of paper from his pocket, looking down at the number. A small smile came onto his lips, and he set it gently on the counter. He already couldn't wait to see him tomorrow...Upset, Dominique stepped into the hot shower and took his time as he washed out the white from his hair, his face still burning from his mother's hand.

  • Kian stood up and brushed the dirt off of his jeans. He pulled the beanie off of his head, and shook his head to rid the feathery brown hair from the snowflakes that had stuck. Smiling he walked into the living room where his mom was reading and his little brother and sister where playing."Ello mum" he said, taking a seat on the couch. "Whats got you so happy Ki?" his mother asked, a playful smirk replacing the look of concentration. "Oh...well I met a guy..." he answered, pulling out his phone. "And he was really cute..." he trailed off, his pale checks turning a shade of pink.

  • After a long, long shower, Dominique stepped out of the bathroom with wet now light, light brown hair. His natural hair color. Walking into his bedroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, he changed into some black sweatpants that were fitted, yet still slightly baggy. Holding the slip of paper in his hands, he smiled once more at the thought of Kian, yet his cheeks instantly turned pink once more. "I got so nervous around him..." Dominique murmured to himself, sitting on his bed and looking out the window as the beautiful soft snow fell from the sky. He brought his knees up to his chest and hugged himself, looking outside as he thought about things. "I can't like him that way...I-It's a guy...I can't fall for a guy..." He murmured, pressing his lips together as he closed his eyes for a moment. "What would they think of me?..." He whimpered, hugging himself more as he fell back and laid on his bed tired from the long day. He couldn't get Kian out of his head... Reaching for his phone, he dialed the number on the slip and smiled widely as they picked up. "H-Hey Kian.." He greeted warmly, looking up at the ceiling as he listened to their voice.

  • Kian was slightly startled by the ringing of his phone, but he pulled it from his pocket and answered. He can't say he wasn't surprised when he heard Dominique's voice on the other side. He'd expected a work call, or one of he's few female friends, crying about a break-up. "Oh. Hi. You ok? You sound upset" he breathed out, walking out of the living room. He entered his own room and closed the door, not wanting his mother or siblings to interrupt if Dominique needed to vent.

  • OOC: Oh my gosh, so when Dominique is kicked out, he will have an apartment already picked out but it's still being built, that's why he will be very nervous and scared when he's kicked out. But when it's done, Dominique and Kian should move in together :)

Dominique bit the corner of his lip nervously when he heard their question, leaning up for a moment and listened for his parents, hearing them laughing and having a great time downstairs. Leaning back down, he signed and looked outside while he spoke, "My parents didn't exactly approve of my hair, so they made me wash it out...They've been really hard on me recently.." He murmured to Kian, his eyes half open as he laid there on his side, listening to Kian's amazing voice. "S-Sorry if I bothered you, I'd hate to be the friend that makes you listen to my problems.." He said with a faint chuckle, lightly whipeing a small tear away that ran down his cheek.

  • OOC: They should! :) :D

Sitting down on his bed, Kian let out a small gasp. "But that color was so nice on you..." he mused, rolling over so he was on his stomach. "And it's fine really. My other friends do the same thing. Apparently I'm very good at listening." he said with a smile. His kitten, Avery, decided now would be a great time to jump on him. "Grahhh! Avery!" he said, pushing the cat off. "Attack of the evil kittens" he said into the phone, smiling.

  • Dominique smiled and even blushed a bit at their compliment. "Thanks but...My parents are...extremely religious. They don't really like it when I do things like that...They don't like it when I do anything.." He said softly, closing his eyes as he tried to relax. Hearing his response, he smiled in relief and stood up, keeping his phone to his ear as he slipped on a navy blue long sleeved shirt, which hugged his arms and was more baggy on his torso. When he heard them shout another name, he tilted his head and grinned, "Avery?" He asked, wondering if it was a sibling. Then, they mentioned kittens and his eyes slightly widened. "You have a kitten? Aw I've always wanted one..." He murmured happily, grinning at the thought of Kian with a kitten.

  • "Oh ya. Avery's my kitten. Got him a few weeks ago for my birthday" Kian said with a smile. "Avery say hi" he said, putting the phone on speaker and holding it up to the small black kitten. The cat just gave him a look before jumping off the bed and running to play with on of his toys. "Or not" Kian giggled, watching the cat. "You could come over and met him one day if you like" he offered, a blush creeping up on him. "Kian mom says stop talking to your boyfriend! She has to go somewhere and you have to watch us!" his younger sister, Elizabeth, screamed. Face now bright red, he frowned slightly. "Oh. Sorry I have to go. Apparently I'm on baby-sitting duty and knowing my siblings they won't let me sit on the phone" he breathed, silently praying that Dominique hadn't heard his sister.

  • Dominique smiled and tilted his head, "Happy late birthday..." He said happily, grinning when he heard him ask the kitten to say hi. Listening, all he could hear was a small thump as the kitten jumped off the bed and left, unable to hold back a chuckle. Hearing their offer, he smiled and nodded, "That would be great.." He replied warmly before he suddenly heard a female voice. His eyes widened when he heard her words, blushing brighter and brighter as he heard those words. Boyfriend...He was shocked because he actually loved the way it sounded...When he heard that they had to go, he smiled and spoke, "That's okay. I'll see you tomorrow..A-And thanks for talking to me Kian, I really appreciate it..." He said warmly before saying his goodbyes and set the phone down. He relaxed in his bed and dozed off, closing his eyes and fell asleep...

OOC: Do you want to skip to the next day when Kian is at work? :)

  • OOC: Sure :)

The next morning was a blur, wake up, eat, shower, dress, out the door. For the first time in forever I was actually excited about going to work. Today, instead of walking, I had decided to take my penny board. The sidewalk was a bit icy, but I managed to avoid most of it, and got to work smoothly. Kristen, another friend of mine I met through work, had opened up for me, allowing me extra sleep. I walked inside the empty cafe and smiled at her. "Hiya Kian" she said, waving to me from behind the clean marble counter. "Hola Kris" I responded, putting on my apron and stepping behind the counter. "Another day of coffee smells" she said with a laugh. Smiling, I turned on the coffee pot, and began making our morning coffee. "The first of the day" I said handing her the warm cup when it was done. "The first of like five" she replied, taking a sip of her drink.

OOC: The frozen reference ::) And why did I switch back to first randomly? IDK anymore ^-^

  • OOC: That reference XD

Dominique woke up late the next morning, trying to sleep in as best as he could. He had a small dream about him and Kian, both of them walking through the park together in the snow. They were both so happy, the two of them holding hands and enjoying having each other. Towards the end of the dream, they were leaning in for a kiss before Dominique woke up. His cheeks were bright red, and he found himself cuddling with the pillow. He pressed his lips together and got dressed, wishing he didn't have work today. The male showered and got dressed in a warm white sweater that had thin blue stripes on it. It ended at his elbows, and was fitted on his body. He styled his now brown hair, having breakfast with his family like normal. He didn't like how they acted as if last night had never happened...

The day went by like normal, the snowfall continued, and he wrote a few new articles. At the same time as yesterday, Dominique stepped into the coffee shop. He walked over to his usual spot, setting his bag down and ran his fingers through his hair. He sat down and waited for a bit for the line to shorten, propping his elbows up on the table and looked outside before sneaking a few cute glances at Kian, smiling over at him before he looked away shyly, his cheeks tinted pink.

  • The morning had gone great. Kris had left around 1 and Alex had taken her place. "Hey Kian, who's the cute boy over there that keeps looking at you?" Alex whispered, wiggling his eyebrows. "Hmmm?" Kian asked, looking up from the coffee pot, and scanning the dining/waiting area. "Oh" he said, a light blush creeping it's way onto his checks when he saw Dominique looking at him. He held the boy's gaze for a moment before looking down, his checks now a beet red. "Someone's gotta crush" Alex, teased. "Shut up" he mumbled, smacking his co-worker with a rag.

  • Dominique did some of his work like usual on his MacBook, swaying his foot back and forth as he tried to get things off his mind. Looking back over at him for a glance, he noticed that both him and a co-worker were looking at him. His cheeks turned bright pink and he smiled cutely at Kian before looking away shyly, pressing his lips together. He can't fall for a boy...Not yet at least...Soon he will be moving out into a new apartment once it was completed, then he might just be able to turn his life around. But Dominique thought about things much farther than that, what will they think? How will they react? The thoughts made him very, very nervous about the future...

Noticing that the line had gone down, he stood up and walked up to the counter smiling warmly at Kian. "Busy today?" He asked him curiously, thinking this was his chance to talk to him since no one was in line.

  • "Not really"he shrugged, leaning against the counter. "Oh! Hey, my mom wants to know if you'd like to come over for dinner tonight. It's her 'new friend interrogation dinner' thing. She always does it" Kian asked, trying hard not to blush. Mission failed. Abort mission. Abort mission. He was blushing again. "So now you gotta a secret lover Kian" Alex said, a playful smirk on his face.

  • Dominique smiled with relief, because the sooner people are out, the sooner he can spend a little more time with Kian. He wants to get to know him better...When Dominique heard Kian's offer, his eyes brightened and he happily nodded. "Of course, that sounds fun." He replied happily, a chuckle in his voice at the way it sounded. A friend interrogation dinner...

Instantly seeing the blush on their cheeks, he tilted his head and grinned. "Why are you blushing?" He asked playfully, raising an eyebrow at him that actually made him look rather flirty. Only he then heard his friend's comments and the most adorable expression came onto Dominique's face. He blushed and he smiled in such a bashful manor. "I-It's not like that, we're friends that's all.." He said cutely, smiling up at Kian before his friend added in. "Sure you are.." He chimed in, making Dominique blush like mad. Looking up at Kian, he swayed cutely and looked him in the eyes. "So right after work?" He asked kindly, looking at Kian with a reassuring look.
