one might glance at alexandra and notice how she was beautiful, but not gorgeous enough to be gawked at. not the type of beautiful that gets all the guys, but the type that went unnoticed. the kind you wanted to get to know. the kind you could never get tired of looking at. the kind of beautiful that made you smile.
she was a simple chocolate colored feline, with large blonde patches covering her back. she had a ringed tail, like a raccoon, but the rings were very unnoticeable because they were darker than the rest of her but only slightly. she had a rather normal build, being an average height for her age. but she had gentle curves that made her even more lovely, and they weren't too much or too little. a perfect amount, really.
if one dared to meet her gaze, they would see two almond shaped eyes stuck in between baby blue and mediterranean. they held a sort of softness to them that made one want to get to know her, but also held a knowing and hardness of one who had been through great pain.
she was overall a natural sort of beauty, and as she travelled throughout unknown territory with autumn leaves fluttering down around her, one could actually see how wonderful she was.
a soft smile laced her thin lips as she carried on, multi-colored leaves crunching delicately under her dainty chocolate paws. a sweet, almost vanilla-like, scent followed her. it was simply what she always smelled like, vanilla.
she found herself at some kind of border, looking around with thick curiosity in her eyes. she had absolutely no clue where she was, being scatterbrained and all. she never paid attention, it seemed. she simply seated herself, beginning to lick a paw to try and distract herself from her haunting thoughts.
you see, even though alex was beautiful and seemed perfectly happy and content, she was extremely depressed.
dark thoughts almost seemed to stick around, littering her mind with things of the past. it tugged her heart viciously, breaking it and laughing in her face. these thoughts failed to leave her be, no matter how much or how long she pleaded them to go away.
and so she carried on, faking sweet smiles and forcing quiet laughs to try and make others believe nothing was wrong. but it all honesty, she wanted someone to ask her if she was okay. she wanted them to ask her if she was okay so she could reply with a simple "I'm fine." and they might, just maybe, would look at her and say, "I know you're not."
and so she sat, trying not to frown as she thought of everything she had done wrong. all the names she had been called. and so she looked down at the soft ground, keeping her expression hidden.
// for those who don't want to read, it just speaks of how Alex is different and a natural kind of beautiful and not drop dead gorgeous, and about her depression. she is currently sitting at the border.
