It had been around a week since last Isena had been within the small huddle of buildings, or the surrounding forest ground and moors which flanked it, taking time to collect their thoughts and just enjoy the solitude. Though the time had been short it had been good for them, calming the anger that seemed always just below the surface, and late the night before the large beast had snuck back into the territory, not wishing to be questioned on where they had been. Now, beneath the glare of the pink dawn they lay stretched out in a patch of grass, a few items placed before them and another clasped between their forepaws.
A small plush skeleton was what they held, adorned in red and gold armour, it's exposed teeth turned into a grin that seemed somewhat sheepish, as to where the toy came from, well, best not to ask. Spread out before them was a mix of fruits, peaches and red apples in abundance, it had been a while since they had last eaten, cores and pits littering the ground from those already consumed. The last item was a skull, a large thing that had come from a lion, the empty sockets seemingly glaring up at them.
Reaching out they circled one of those sockets with a toe, claw scraping the bone at the back, slight pressure leaving the thin bone to crack. Pulling back they inspected the teeth this time, lightly placing their paw on top of the skull as they leaned closer, yet they were quick to withdraw when they felt the first touch of cold. Curious now Isena looked over the skull, an audible gasp raising from their lips as they noticed the patch of ice that coated the top of it, a thin layer of crystalline ice that gleamed blue in the soft light. Reaching out once more they touched the skull lightly, stumbled back from it when ice once more spread along the ivory surface of the bone, encasing the eye sockets now.
