  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify]Stagkit grumbled as he leaped, or more accurately, heaved himself up another stair. Ugh, how much longer will this take? he internally groaned to himself, keeping his eyes on Gorsekit's lithe form just ahead. What he wouldn't give to be loose and springy like his brother, instead of the stronger musclehead that he was currently. Gorsekit himself had promised that they were going to do something, something like a dare if he remembered correctly. That memory was all the way down the building, in the first floor or something. Two flights of stairs weren't very challenging, but they certainly were to a kitten as heavily built as him, who had foolishly bounded up the first flight.

Besides, he was only doing this because Gorsekit was going to call him chicken or something for not doing it, and why not admit it? He liked going on these secret adventures because it reminded him he had to do something with his life.

He knew Stagkit was behind him, he could just tell. "Come on, Tags!" Gorsekit mewed, just to break the silence. Finally they reached the top of the building. It wasn't that big of a building, from a human's point of view, but it could be considered a skyscraper for Stagkit and him. Nonetheless, Gorsekit began to dash around the open space, enjoying the freedom and powerful air being at the top brought him.

He faced the entrance towards the stairs, waiting for Stagkit to come up. He knew his brother had a more stronger build than he. Gorsekit wasn't sure exactly how strong he himself was, but he was going to get working on it. One thing was for sure- Stagkit had more muscles at this moment in time.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify]Stagkit leaped the final hurdle and stumbled over towards Gorsekit, the wind whipping his fur on this rooftop. The concrete felt weird under his paws, full of microscopic holes and dents that only his paws could see. Whenever he lifted them, they were gone, like a weird itch that you can never seem to find. "Okay, okay, I'm coming." he called, giving himself a burst of energy and bounding over towards his pale brother. Like Gorsekit, he was enjoying this feeling, but the lack of protection made him nervous. This place wasn't used much, he could tell.

He shot a sideways glance at the rooftops of the other buildings, just to see how high they were. He was impressed against his will. There were many buildings several stories above this one, but he doubted he would be able to climb up there. He gazed back at Gorsekit. "So, what are we doing again?" he questioned, leaning on one side.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; height: auto; margin-top: -15px; letter-spacing: .5px;][justify][font=HP simplified][size=10]Gorsekit watched as Stagkit scrambled up next to him. He gazed at this multicolored sibling for a while after he asked his question. What were they doing, hmm? The pale tabby was in the Halloween mood, yes, and he enjoyed pulling small pranks on his friends. So why not give Tags a small fright, too? He just hoped Stagkit didn't cry, like Elliekit did, or he would feel really bad. Especially since this was his brother, Gorsekit loved his brother. So, he put on a mask, not a real one, and made his face have a real spooked, a real worried expression. Gorsekit pointed to the edge of the building.

"There's was a huge cat-eating spider down there! Go look!" Gorsekit urged, still shoving his paw in the direction of one of the corners. Everyone hated spiders, he was sure of it, and what was worse than a gigantic spider? Stagkit would definitely want to see the monster for himself.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify]"What?" Stagkit nearly shrieked, bouncing away from the shrug and looking frazzled, fur sticking up in little spikes. He was way closer to the edge than he ever thought he would be. He shot a worried glance at Gorsekit, before snorting and holding his head up. Oh please, he'd show him! He wasn't worried at all, yeah, yeah. He made a face as he slowly walked towards the edge. His mind was made up about the matter, but his legs were sensing trouble ahead. Still, they continued to obediently plod on till he was at the edge.

The tortie tomkitten took a deep breath, then carefully peered over the edge, eyes on nothing but the mundanely blank stretch of wall below him, not on the streets and the creatures. "There's no-"

Quietly, the tabby began to stalk up behind the tortie tomkit, and when Stagkit started to realize there was no such spider, Gorsekit grabbed onto him and he shook him furiously, the breeze picking up again. "Boo! I gotcha!" He said loudly, eyes twinkling in amusement.

Oh, Stagkit would be amused! Or maybe he'd hate him for giving him such a fright, but either way, he knew that both of them were having a good time.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify]His ears twitched at the first sound, and his legs immediately jumped up to run away from the thing, whatever it was. It was rare that they were motivated like that, but maybe his legs could see dimly into the future. His paws pushed forwards as Gorsekit grabbed ahold of him and shook him. That just made his nerves more frazzled. All this happened in a fraction of a second, and suddenly, he was tilting over the edge of the building. Time seemed to freeze as his weight slowly betrayed him. His mind was curiously blank, all things focused towards looking down on the ground.

A flash freeze of horror shook his brain, and his brain, startled, lost control of his limbs and they splayed as he was lost from his brother's grip and plummeted towards the ground, too fear-stricken to scream. Thankfully, instincts took over and righted him, but he still landed with an awful thump and crack, blood splashing the pavement. He laid there, gasping and heaving, when his noggin actually did something useful for once and shooed his consciousness away.

Should I make it open now?

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; height: auto; margin-top: -15px; letter-spacing: .5px;][justify][font=century][size=10]It all happened so fast. One moment, he had Stagkit safely in his paws, and the next, Stagkit wasn't present. For a moment, Gorsekit was frozen with his paws on the ledge, eyes wide and blank. It wasn't long before his heartbeat quickened to an extreme beat, and he immediately thew his head over the edge. His blood froze and his heart seemed to stop when he saw his brother smash against the ground, blood beginning to appear. "Stagkit!" Gorsekit yelled, voice high-pitched and crackling in alarm and fear. For a moment, he almost threw himself over the edge to reach Stagkit quicker, but then he turned and ran as fast as he could towards the stairs, running into the walls and tripping half way down.

Finally Gorsekit reached the ground again. His cheeks, jaws, and ears were burning as he held down tears that wanted to break free. No, no, no, no. Gorsekit raced towards Stagkit, flinging himself next to his brother's bloody, broken body. "Stagkit..." He whispered, attempting to lift his head off the ground and cradle him in his own arms. Repeatedly, Gorsekit began whispering to himself, "I'm sorry", continuously. "HELP!" Gorsekit screeched, paws quivering.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify]Injuries are broken leg and a concussion.

Stagkit barely heard Gorsekit's voice through his haze. Everything seemed to be blurred, then the blurs split into several different shapes from his slit eyelids. His breathing was labored, he felt a constant kind of pain, numbed by his shock. And beneath it all, he felt a betrayal sow its seeds amongst the little space between two brothers.

    "speaking", actions, thinking

Ellie heard familiar voices and a plea for help. She would save him! Rushing up, Ellie pulled out cobwebs and marigolds, as well as rush and raspberry leaves. Attempting to gently take his leg, she would splint it with rush, and wrap it firmly with cobwebs. Then, she would cover his bloody spots with marigolds and cobwebs, before tending his head. A concession it seemed. How did she treat that? Just cobwebs? Sighing, the small white feline attempted to wrap his head in cobwebs and nudge him raspberry leaves for pain. Don't fall asleep. Eat these.

Oh God, he had to be okay. At least he hadn't cried like she had when Gorse scared her. But he had a good reason to cry now, so why didn't he? Ellie cried frequently, just because things scared and confused her so much.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify]Stagkit made a small little sound that was supposed to be an indicator of pain as Elliekit moved his leg. He barely knew that she was doing it as gently as she could, and it still felt like a thousand claws slicing into his leg. If Elliekit said it was surprising that he didn't cry, she would be satisfied now because that little movement sprung bright tears into his eyes. His ears registered her words, but he didn't make a move towards the leaves. Right now, his leg was first priority towards him.

[fancypost bgcolor=0px; borderwidth=0px; width:450px;][justify][size=9pt]Kissingfrogs was much less gentle and patient than Elliekit. However, she did have a great amount of experience with healing. Therefore, she came rushing over with her own satchel and checked over the alabaster kitten's work. Hm. She hadn't done half bad. "Not bad," admitted the bengal, before correcting a few things, "But he definitely needs comfrey on his leg to help it heal, and it looks like he has a concussion. There isn't much we can do for that apart from keep him awake for a few hours to make sure he doesn't fall into a coma and keep him hydrated." With that, she removed the cobwebs from his head, as it wouldn't do anything unless there were cuts on his head, and proceeded to add some comfrey to the mix Ellie had already applied on his leg. Apart from that, she had to admit the kitten had done fairly well.
