The halla grumbled, and plodded away from camp. Her head held itself a little bit lower than she liked, her limp more pronounced as she felt herself drift from the eyesight of her clanmates. Instead, she found herself going through the trees, bored and muttering once in a while how the bark looked tasty. She wasn't hungry right now, no matter how yummy the trees looked. [/fancypost] |

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px]The lieutenant drifted idly over the Boneclan territory, attempting to find some kind of familiar looking landmark. Her sense of direction had been quite good in the past, but the more she had travelled the worse it had gotten, despite logic dictating it should be the opposite. Right now that wasn't the priority though since the dragoness was hungry, and soon enough she spotted the perfect prey; a lone yet reasonably sized deer. She circled the area for a second or two before plummeting down towards the probably oblivious female.
It was only when she was quite close to the ground that Nivata noticed her mistake. For one, it didn't look like a regular deer and second, she vaguely recognised the creature as an individual rather than simply prey. Twisting her wing she diverted her path of flight to crash into the ground nearby, wiping a good portion of the trees around her as she sacrificed a piece of the forest to avoid the Boneclanner. It wouldn't have been good to try and kill an ally. After she waited for the world to stop spinning from the impact, Niva slowly lifted her head to examine her surroundings. [/fancypost]

It used to be that being considered prey was the absolute worst thing to happen to her, but nowadays it was... almost subpar. It didn't scare her as much, not after she learned what other awful things could happen to lone halla when their guard wasn't up. That wasn't to say that when a freaking dragon fell from the sky, she wasn't afraid. Oh no, she was suitably terrified.
"There aren't enough curses, Creators dammit!"
She shouted, skittering to the side and squaring her shoulders as the dragoness lifted her head. For all Minaiben knew, she had just been almost murdered, and the Joint set her hooves in the dirt, getting ready to fight for her life if need be. And yes, she would fight a dragon and it would be epic.
"I don't know why everyone is trying to eat me, I must taste freaking fantastic."She laughed, a smile spread on her face already.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px]She sat up to look at the halla standing before her, and chuckled lightly. So, she was ready for a fight? That already proved she was from a clan; wild deer didn't tend to stick around long if the hunt failed. It would be amusing to see what other reaction she could bring forth from the other, but that would perhaps be a loss of time and conversation. The stranger seemed quite interesting, so she wouldn't want that - the exclamations were unique enough to support her thoughts.
Giving a small cough to clear her throat, the dragoness shifted to the form of a griffin which was much smaller in size, and after a few snaps of her beak she nodded her head in greeting. "I sure wouldn't mind testing that theory out," she smiled with a carefree air, shrugging sheepishly, "I'm hungry." After this somewhat awkward explanation, she shifted her wings. "I apologise for startling you. My name is Nivata, pleasure to meet you."[/fancypost]

Minaiben narrowed her eyes, noticing the trend in winged creatures but choosing to keep her mouth shut. She probably wouldn't win against a dragon or a griffin, so she'd have to play nice. No matter what the urge to be a hero was suggesting to her. No adventure, not right now.
"Minaiben - I would very much prefer not being eaten though."She needed that to be clear as glass, since predators tended to be a little bit funny and then a little bit hungry and then bye bye Minaiben! Still, she supposed Nivata had halted in her attempt to consume halla, so the slender ungulate dropped her guard just a bit. She was never completely relaxed, not even now.

//sorry about the late reply! She was used to flying and loved the activity, so there was a low chance that the demon would ever permanently shift to a non-areal shape. Minaiben was a nice name, though. Minaiben. There was no way anyone could get the pronunciation wrong. She smiled at the statement and then shook her head, half the movement being from further amusement. Nivata wouldn't have stopped her hunt if she had meant the halla any harm."Ah no. I should have made myself clear - I'm a Liuetenant in Darkclan. We're allies." She paused, wondering how much information to give, before finishing, "I was just visiting."[/fancypost]

She stood straighter, and let her ead raise itself, no longer in a position to charge. As though she had never suspected the Darkclanner of a single thing, never had felt wary, Minaiben plastered on her usual grin, and tilted her head to the side.
"In that case, hey, nice to meet you, glad I'm not lunch."The elk replied easily, rolling with the situation now.

[sub]That had been a fast change of attitude; she really should have mentioned her alliance earlier. The statement did make her ponder on what species Minaiben was exactly. A deer, right? With some patterns... but the fur seemed unusually long. "What species are you, if you don't mind?" Ah, why not go with it? For some reason it bugged her. Perhaps she was just a deer and Niva was confusing herself. Like the dilemma between dragons and wyverns (although dragons were clearly superior).[/fancypost]

Oh, I'm a halla. There aren't many of us around."
Not even all the Dalish were halla, though it was considered a good thing to be one - she found it too formal, even with her less-than-ordinary appearance. She kept her fur longer, didn't bother with holding herself as she should. Instead, Minaiben seemed a little bit small even for halla, her feisty attitude likely a symptom of 'short person syndrome'. Still, she seemed relaxed now, unperturbed by the question.
"Are there different species of dragons though? I don't know many dragons, and all the ones I know are douche-y or my brother."
