Helgraf hammered away at the bright orange hot blade, his arm moving in a rhythmic pattern as he hammered away, tempering the blade. He picked up the blade and dipped it into a bucket of water, steam filling the forge. He set the blade aside on his anvil, wiping sweat off his brow with his sleeve. He picked up the leather covered hilt, and then slid the hilt onto the bottom of the blade and set the finished sword aside.

  • I walk into the blacksmiths work area, lost and confused, I've never been here before. "Hello?" I say. I notice you just were finishing a sword and observe it for a little while, smiling because I have always wanted to learn how to do that but I was just a regular citizen before. I had just returned from walking in a field of the damned, covered in sweat from running as far and as fast as I could. "Who are you?" I say, a little bent over trying to catch my breath then I stand up and move a piece of hair behind my ear.

  • OOC: Okay, thanks

IC: Annabelle walks in to the blacksmiths workshop trying to buy a sword, although she didn't have much she had saved up enough money to choose from a variety instead of just the cheapest one. I noticed the a man just putting a hilt on the end of a single finished sword. "Hello?" I paused, feeling awkward because I have never had a sword before, "I'm looking for a decent sword." I like being around people but not really talking much around them. I keep my hands in my pockets as I watch you finish the sword.

  • "A decent sword?" He raised an eyebrow, eyeing the girl up, she didn't seem like much of a sword fighter to him. He looked around at a small weapons rack on the wall, a few short swords and such along it. "Well, what kind of sword would you prefer? I can give you a short sword, a one handed long sword, a two handed long sword..." He walked across in front of, gesturing at each different type of weapon, "Or I could give you a great sword. So, which would you prefer?"

  • OOC:

IC: I paused feeling heat rise to my face, I don't know anything about swords, I thought to myself. I stood there quietly thinking then I decided that I wanted a one handed long sword and I said just that to the man. I felt silly, like I said something wrong but I knew that that was what I wanted. I stood patiently and waited for him to answer. All I needed was something to protect me should I ever need it in case my powers don't work.

  • He nods, "Alright, one handed long sword. That'll buy you distance, and one handed is much easier to wield in battle." Helgraf turned and went into his house, grabbing a long sword he kept in there. "None of the swords, or the ones in storage are sharpened, just in case. Let me sharpen this for you." He headed to the grindstone and sat down on it, carefully pushing the pedal that turned the stone, sharpening the sword.

  • IC: I sighed in relief that I had chosen the right sword. "Thank you, what's your name anyways?" I asked as I watched him skillfully sharpen the sword that was soon to be mine. The sword looked impressive, then again I've only held a sword once before and it was a short sword, so I wouldn't know whether the blade was decent or not until I needed it.

  • Sparks flew in the forge as he sharpened the blade, filling the air with small bright flashes of light. The sound of the stone against the blade was practically deafening when right next to the grindstone producing it, and it took him a moment to figure out what she had said. "My name's Helgraf, yours?" He stopped sharpening the blade and flipped it over to sharpen the other side. He began the process again on the other side.

  • IC: I watched him continue to to sharpen the blade as I tried to figure out what he asked and said, "My name is Annabelle." I don't really say anything else and wait for him to finish, wondering how he remembers how to do everything. Helgraf finished the sword and I ask, "How much will that be?"

  • Helgraf stood up, looking at the now sharpened blade, he examined every inch of the blade closely. His eye scanned over it, and he noted any sort of dent or misshaped part of the blade, he was assessing the value of the weapon that he had just created. After looking at it carefully for what felt like ages but was really only a matter of moments he said, "Two gold coins."

(Just to clarify, the currency is bronze, each 10 bronze is a silver, and then each 10 silver is a gold. The average person makes 7 bronze coins a day.)

  • IC: I only had 1 gold coin and 4 silver and I frowned. "That's a bit much." I said to myself but loud enough for others to hear. "Is there any chance the price can be lowered?" I asked. I felt myself getting a little upset with the price.

  • Jessie walks in interrupting them "Helgraf I need you to put more demon blood in my thing" he said throwing the pen like tool on the counter. " Put it on the tab" he said pulling out a notebook to write down his monthly total.

  • (I'm a blacksmith, I don't refill demon blood pens. Also, I will not be posting for a few days, maybe until Sunday. In fact, this is medieval times, there weren't any pens OR note books or tabs.)

  • Jessie walks in interrupting them "Helgraf I need your help." Jessie grabbed some paper (they did have paper back then and pencils). and started to write down a strange language. He also grabbed a small dagger with a small crystal in it. " I'll let you finish with her" He said playing with the dagger.

  • (I'll be able to occasionally post, also they didn't have pencils then. Though they did have sharpened sticks of charcoal, which basically worked the same as pencils except they were impossible to erase.)

Helgraf thought for a moment, and nodded slowly, "I guess I could lower the price a bit..." He didn't want to lower the price, but he also didn't want to lose a customer. Not many people had stopped by his shop recently, and he needed all the money he could get. "How about one gold and three silver?"

  • IC: I and nodded, "That would be wonderful." I would still have one silver left, although it was not much it certainly was better than nothing at all. I looked at the man who just entered as I hand Helgraf my money. Then I take my sword and slowly head towards the exit.
