• Your parents have been apart since you were born, not divorced, they just haven't been able to live in the same house for that time. Your mother, who you live with in the city, rarely says anything about your father or why they aren't together, only that they had an agreement that this would be better.
This summer your mother got a letter for your dad saying that he wanted to see you. Your mother is taking you to his home in a secluded forest, a bit nervous but also wanting to see him a bit. You on the other hand are seriously nervous about meeting the man you knew existed but have never seen or heard or had any contact with in your entire life. Something about him scares your mother and it's always disturbed you, but from the other things she says of him he seems like a perfectly good guy so you're willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Nothing about him is as it seems, he always wears reflective sunglasses and the first thing he ever says to you is "Do not, ever, look into my eyes.", an ominous warning, he mutters strange things under his breath and his house itself seems haunted. His 'apprentice' is a little less strange but still odd and seems scared of him.

Maybe this has something to do with the odd things that happen around you?

Your character is either a boy or girl, you are being sent to live with your mysterious father Ezra for a month so he can meet you but there is something off about him, just like you. Strange things happen around you like magic. His apprentice is either a boy or girl, depending on your choice and is a potential romance interest for your character.
Your character is in his/her late teens (about 17) but your parents met when they were a bit younger than you and without actually intending to at first she wound up pregnant so they are both still fairly young)

Your father: Ezra MacLain

Your mother: Eren MacLain

The Apprentice: (Sigurd Krigare[if your character is female] Clarissa Elanora[if your character is male])

• You can be either XD all your character's gender really changes is how your parents refer to him/her and who the apprentice ends up being XD
though either way it seems liek they would be opposites, Sigurd is very mild tempered and very slow to anger or even mildly annoy while Claire has a mood about as predictable as fire, she could go from trying to hop in bed with him to trying to strange him within .5 seconds XD
But they would also have similarities: Sigurd is actually very kind hearted and hates to hurt anyone or anything at all and Claire loves having fun, she is a lover of simple things like just walking around or looking at the sky.

btw you are in a car on your way to your father's house talking to Eren.

I'll start it off, you can decide which character to use.))

Eren was not a tall woman but at the same time she was not terribly short, about 5'5, though she had a full figure and hair the color of fire and bright blue eyes, her skin was a bit pale but nicely tanned by time spent in the sun and even though she had not been with her husband Ezra for their single child's entire life she still wore their wedding ring and the engagement ring he'd given her, a simple silver band, nothing special about it as far as appearances went but it meant a lot to Eren. She was a beautiful woman and many before had been stunned to realize she had a child in their late teens and was married even if she barely spoke to her husband. In the rare picture she had of him in the house Ezra was a man of extraordinary height, around 6'4 with dark hair and eyes of indiscernible color. Eren looked absolutely overjoyed in any picture she was with him in so it was a bit hard to believe that they were not on high speaking terms and that they lived apart. Her child had never seen him before in person and she was a bit nervous, having a mini heart attack when she'd received a simple letter from him:
Eren,
I think I'd like to see our child now.
-Ezra

Back in the car Eren gets seized by a sudden feeling of anxiety and reaches over to take her child's hand gently, her hands soft and feminine but with hints of the callouses that spoke of her less than pleasant life in the past. She turns her head long enough to smile softly.
"I love you, you know that right?"

The house in the woods was fully alone, there was not a single living Human being within forty miles of it in any direction. It was a three story old mansion that had a fairly simple appearance, it was not grand but it still looked nice and it was in a really good condition. A man stood out front, he had dark, wind swept hair and reflective sunglasses, even though it was the middle of the day, but he could see everything as clearly as if he had the sight of an eagle. He even could see the car his wife drove but for some reason his own child, as always, was obscured from his sight while his own wife wasn't, it still hurt him to see how alone and vulnerable she looked without him near her, it hurt Ezra to see how beautiful his wife still was and that he had never before even seen their child, it hurt him to see that she sometimes cried herself to sleep, turned towards the place on their bed that he used to occupy. It made him furious that her own family refused to see her most of the time, thinking that she had married a horrible man and that she was a slut for having been married so early. He wished he had never had to leave her, that he could have been the normal father that could come home to the squeals of delight from his child at seeing him home. His years alone had rendered Ezra to draw into himself, he was a quiet man now, he did not speak unless he had to and when he did his words were short and to the point. He closes his eyes and rubs his forehead slightly, canceling the odd sight that allowed him to keep an eye on his family even from so far away, he sighs softly and walks back inside, worried about meeting his child for the first time.

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] Molly hadn't been on board with meeting the most important man in a child's life, who hadn't been around for said child, in the first place. Sure, as a kid, the major thing on her mind was her Dad; She'd ask questions, look at / for pictures, anything to know him. By age 13, that phase passed. She had bigger things in mind. Like, for instance, weird things happening. Things she wasn't in the mood to remember. But one thing was certain: It made her popularity drop a significant amount.

Molly wasn't even sure they had anything in common other than the fact they were both tall (Molly was around 6'3). The moment Mom first told her, she had her doubts. Something about Dad...It just made Mom nervous. And that set Molly off. However, all of the good things Mom had said, all the stories, canceled out the negatives (Well...Some of them). Molly packed for a short trip, and here they were now.

She had been deep in thought when Mom's hand touched her own, gently. Molly, once back in reality, realized her mother was just as antsy as she was. No kidding; The woman was about to meet a man she loved, but hadn't seen / contacted in forever. Molly squeezed her mom's half-rough, half-soft hand in reply. "I know, Mom." she responded with a smile, as well. Though hers looked a LOT more nervous.

Molly's anxiety seemed to grow once they neared the woods; She could just about make out a large mansion through the trees. Maybe her Dad was rich and powerful. Maybe he didn't want to / couldn't stay with a 'lower-class' woman. Her theories always seemed to be negative, she just noticed.
[/fancypost]

• Outside the house itself stood a fairly tall guy around her age with golden blonde hair and blue eyes, he was petting a cat that seemed to have strayed onto the porch, he looks up at the car and nods, smiling at Eren and Molly. He stands up and walks over when Eren stops.
"Afternoon Mrs. MacLain. Mr. MacLain was getting a bit anxious waiting around, he isn't a terribly patient guy though."
Eren smiles softly.
"He's been that way for a long time."
Her hands were shaking a bit as she got out of the car and her knees nearly turned to jell-O when Ezra himself walked out of the house, still wearing his odd reflective sunglasses, but he had an easy, slightly mischievous smile on his face, the very same one Molly had, it seemed the vast majority of her appearance had come from her father.
"No, I'm not good at waiting, never have been, I've gotten better that doesn't say much."
He walks over, he also wore a thick leather duster coat, under it he wore an oxford button down shirt and denim jeans, an oddly casual appearance for the slightly unsettling aura that surrounded him. What cemented his aura's meaning was when a small statuette was beginning to fall towards then when he simply looks up at it and in a moment of defied physics and gravity it stops in mid-air and goes back to it's original position. He looks back at Eren like it had never happened and smiles at her.
"It's been a while Eren, you are still as beautiful as I remember."
he steps forward and hugs her gently though awkwardly, he had not been this close to his wife in years. Even after pulling away Eren notably kept her eyes averted from his own, usually looking at his chin or forehead. As if remembering something Ezra looks at Molly, his gaze, even behind the glasses, was a bit unnerving.
"And Molly, do not, ever, look into my eyes."
the ominous words were unsettling at best, given power by the way Eren couldn't handle looking at his eyes even hidden behind the glasses, even the boy next to him shivers uncomfortably at the mention of his eyes.
"This is Sigurd, he's my apprentice."
Sigurd waves slightly.
"Hi."
Eren smiles at Ezra gently and pulls away.
"Thank you for wanting to see Molly Ezra..."
she walks to her daughter and hugs her gently, being so much shorter than her Eren's head barely came to her daughter's shoulder.
"I'll be back in a month Molly, be good okay? Make sure to listen to... your father's rules."
She takes a last look at Ezra and gets in the car. Era looks at Molly again.
"There are rooms all over the MacLain estate, pick one and make yourself at home, my only rules in the house are not to set anything on fire and to stay within the boundaries, marked by big stones with Celtic runes. Do not cross them, I cannot explain that for now but that is the rule that above all my others you must follow, break that rule and for your own safety I will make the house itself keep you in. Sigurd can answer any questions you have if I can't and don't feed the cats bacon or any other meats, they get really bad gas if you do."
He smiles softly and Sigurd grabs her bags easily.
"Alright just find the room you want, MacLain has to fill out some papers, he's a sort of lawyer..."

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] Molly caught herself staring at the blonde stranger who was outside their car. He was cute, she'd give him that. Well...Not JUST cute; He was handsome. But there was no WAY Molly would say that out loud. She wouldn't hear the end of it. She followed her Mom out of the car, partly to avoid any embarrassment.

Standing there, Molly saw him: Her Dad. His fashion sense was refined, and he looked like one of those scholarly guys. That smile on his face was the most familiar part: Molly saw it in the mirror on various occasions. Heck, they practically looked the same: They both towered over Eren, their hair was dark, and the list goes on. That didn't distract her from the floating statuette, though. Now THAT was something Molly could relate to; If you replaced 'statue' with 'basketball'.

She heard her Dad's ominous warning, alright; Probably explained why he wore those sunglasses. In fact, everything about her Dad seemed to give her chills. "...Hey" talking to 'Sigurd' took her mind of off the heebie-jeebies, if only for a second. 'Apprentice'? Last time she checked, they were more common in the olden days.

"Don't worry, Mom. You can trust me, remember? I'm a good girl." she hugged back, before pulling away and watching her mother get into the car and drive away. After carefully listening to Dad's rules (She was going to work hard to remember them), Molly caught up with Sigurd. "Huh. I would've guessed 'professor'," no, really; That HAD been her first guess, "So...What's it like, here?"
[/fancypost]

• Sigurd chuckles.
"Quiet, plenty to do though, not fancy by any means but it's cozy here. And your dad keeps be really busy."
"Like hell I do, I'm not going to have a lazy teenager hanging around my house Sigurd."
Sigurd smirks.
"Yeah, and I am his apprentice... he's an old timer."
"I'm only 37, shut up Sig."

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] Molly's lip twitched and formed an amused smile. She laughed under her breath. Then she remembered, "What's an 'apprentice', anyway? Is that like an intern?" she was curious, and maybe even suspicious. She was assuming Sigurd was probably a foreign student working with her father for extra credit. It was the most logical thing she could come up with.

[/fancypost]

• Sigurd shakes his head.
"No it doesn't it means he's training me in what he does, and I said he is a 'sort' of lawyer."
Ezra had already walked inside and was heading upstairs, Sigurd watches him go.
"He's not all bad, just a bit quiet sometimes, he is a bit awkward around people considering I'm the only one he's spoken to in a long time... Well let's find you a room eh?"

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] Molly wanted to press further, ask more questions, but figured she'd better leave it; For now. Hearing that her father was awkward, well, that was something she could relate to. Molly HAD human contact, but not the best kind. Whereas her mother was nice, other kids...The less said about them, the better. Not to mention her relationship with family members besides Mom were...Frosty. She practically swore off interacting with any other living being except the woman who gave birth to / raised her.

"Lead the way." Sigurd most likely knew more about the mansion than Molly did. She wasn't planning on getting lost her first day here. "One more thing: Is there a library?" Molly was a bit of a bookworm.
[/fancypost]

• Sigurd laughed.
"Yeah of course there is, Ezra is a friggin' bookworm, he spends most of his time reading something or other, the place is huge."

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] Molly didn't know whether to be scared or thrilled; Every major trait of hers was also her Dad's. What else was she gonna learn? He was a vampire? She was just kidding on that last one. In complete, thoughtful silence, Molly entered the house.

[/fancypost]

• It was simply furnished with furniture that had no fancy stuff, Ezra never liked being fancy, he liked being practical. But cats were everywhere, he wasn't like a crazy cat person but there were like, friggin' 6 of them all lounging around.

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] Molly decided her best bet was to not ask about all these cats. It was her Dad's business. She had guessed what to expect before she came in; "You know, I kind of thought this place would look like Miss Robichaux's. I don't suppose you have frequent Fleetwood Mac concerts here." she had slipped a few episodes of American Horror Story into her daily routine.

[/fancypost]

• He shakes his head.
"Nah it's pretty quiet here really. Not a lot of stunning feats of art or anything but we are kept busy."

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] "Lucky for you, I like quiet."

Molly decided to move on from the cat room. You would, too, if you had six kinda-creepy cats staring lazily at you. How her Dad could stand it, she'd never know. "Next room, please."

[/fancypost]

• He chuckles and takes her to a decent sized room with a bed and dresser and a closet in the corner.
"This is one of the bedrooms."
one of the cats, a pure white shorthair, pads up and rubs against her leg, purring softly. He grins at the cat.
"Hey Skittles, up again?"
the cat simply meows and carries on with rubbing on her leg.

• [fancypost bgcolor= COLOR; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; background:url(http://cache.desktopnexus.com/…bigthumbnail.jpg);height: 270px; width: 400px;]template ©snowtreegod #snowtreetemplate

[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: WIDTHpx TYPE COLOR; opacity: 0.8;overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 250px;float: right;] 'Skittles'? That cat was more of a 'Snowball', if you asked her. Molly nervously reached downwards, carefully stroking the soft, white fur. Any second now, she expected, he'd lash out. Thankfully, that never happened. "I think he likes me. Or is he always like this with people?" she wouldn't mind sharing a room with the feline.
