  • Alex gave a snort and if he had the ears of a canine, they would have flicked backward in disbelief. "I highly doubt that," he grunted, beginning to look over his dragon's white scales for any grime that could be easily removed with a brush or wet sponge. "Name one thing that he's done that resembles me."

  • "Just one?" Dawn teased with a small grin. "Well, for one thing, you both have strong determination. You both think logically, especially before making decisions. Come now, Alex. You must see it too."

  • "I've been away for the past several months, traveling across the land with Lunyra. I can't very well see anything in him if I never see him." Alex stated with a tease to his voice while he motioned toward Lunyra with a free hand. "Feel free to jump in and help me prepare Lunyra for winter anytime."

  • Alex nodded as best as he could over Lunyra's back, her larger wings making it difficult for him to actually get his nod across to Dawn. "Yes," he said, looking around for a something to clean her scales off with. "I swear, cleaning dragons for winter is hard since they're cold blooded creatures. You need hot water to get anywhere and I'm pretty sure there is no hot water around here. And I'm pretty sure all the dragons are asleep in their dens so we can't very well ask them to heat some up for us." Alex gave a small chuckle and shook his head as he continued to use the brush to get the grime off his dragon's scales. He used a gentle tap to ask his dragon to extend her wings and, with a rumble, the sleepy white dragon lazily stretched out a wing to allow Alex to gently brush the one closest to him down.

"Use the soft bristle brush to do her wing. I've found that she's rather sensitive to the rough brushes and absolutely hates it."

  • "Alright." Dawn nodded her head in understanding and looked for the softer brush, reaching down to pick it up. It made sense since the wings were sensitive areas to the dragons. Running her hand over the brush, she gently stroked Lunyra's wing with her finger tips before she began to clean away carefully, making well sure not to bother the dragoness.

  • (You're a welcomed distraction :))

Lunyra rumbled as she stretched her other wing for Dawn to clean and for a moment, she looked like she was flying, the other riders having to step around the large dragoness's wings to avoid hurting her. "I swear, she gets bigger ever year," Alex stated, finishing off one section of the dragoness's wing that he was cleaning.

  • ( xD)

Dawn grinned at his comment. "They all do. And every winter that comes and passes..." She momentarily lifted the brush to examine Lunyra's wing before continuing to gently scrub away at another area. "The longer this cleaning process takes." She smiled and shuffled a few steps to the left to get to another spot.

  • (^_^ Well you are :))

Alex gave a soft laugh and continued down Lunyra's wing to the bits he hadn't gotten to yet. "But look at her!" He exclaimed, extending his arms as wide as he could without disturbing his dragon's dozing. "She's almost as big as the Tyrant's dragon and it hasn't even been two years since we defeated him!" It was true. Lunyra had grown at an alarming rate since Alex took the crown and became king after the Tyrant was disposed of.

  • (Loll this is also a great distraction for me. An escape, in a way)

Dawn smiled, laughing with him. "Well what do you expect? This is Lunyra we're talking about. She's always filled with surprises and has a tendency to impress." She continued to work on the dragoness' wing until she reached the end, where she worked more gently by the tip. Once she was done, Dawn rubbed her forearm across her forehead and stood straight up. "Well, I'm done her wing."

  • (^_^ glad I can give you an escape hatch XD)

Lunyra rumbled her thanks sleepily before she tucked in her wings just as Alex finished with the other one. "Now all that's left is getting all the grime out of her scales," he stated, wiping his own forearm across his head. "I'll have to make a note to take her swimming more often in the summer time. It'd definitely help keep her clean in the winter." He teased with a small chuckle while Lunyra shifted her head and forearms to a more comfortable position, hot steam curling out of her nostrils and streaming from her jaws. She was definitely a sight to see.

  • ( :D )

Dawn grinned. "I had that as the top of my list after cleaning Zavier. I don't know why I didn't think of it before, it would have helped both of us for this winter." She released a sigh, her shoulders falling with the slow exhale.

  • (^_^)

Alex chuckled as he picked up a special tool to help clean and polish the scales of a dragon. "We'll have to go find a lake this summer with the dragons and take them for a swim." he suggested, beginning the work on Lunyra's neck scales.

  • Dawn nodded her head in agreement as she reached for another tool. She walked around the dragon and began to work on her tail scales. "That might be a good idea, Alex."

(I'm sorry, just not sure what more to write xD)

  • (XD then poof!)

The first snows had come to the land at long last. As promised, Alex had left Lunyra at the castle to sleep her winter days off and now was galloping through the snow on Arrow's back. It felt good to have the wind whipping through his hair as his trusted steed pounded through the land. He could hear Arrow's breath puffing out of his lungs as they crested a snow topped hill. "Whoa, boy!" Alex's hands pulled back the reins and Arrow siddled to a halt, giving a shrill neigh as his front legs came up off the ground for a brief moment. Alex's thick cloak with the King's crest on the back of it billowed out behind him and settled on the stallion's rump when he settled back onto the ground. Arrow snorted, his breath hot and billowing into a cloud about his muzzle while Alex scanned the land stretching before them.

A road split into two a bit further on, one half leading into the forests of the Elves while the other curved in the opposite direction, heading for the farthest coast and the ocean. Alex looked around again before he patted the stallion's neck.

  • ( LOL xD)

Beside him and his horse, Ocarin came to a stop. He shook out his fur before looking around as well. Running was one thing he loved, but running in the snow was even better for the wolf. He took a moment to catch his breath, adrenaline pumping his body. 'I'm still quite surprised you suggested a ride out in this weather.' Of course, he himself did not mind a single bit.

  • (^_^)

"Arrow needed the exercise," Alex answered, fixing the stallion's mane for a moment before he cast a glance behind him at the castle, where his dragon would sleep until spring. "Besides, I kind of promised him I'd ride him while Lunyra's hibernating for the winter."

  • Alex put his eyes forward as Arrow snorted and shook his head, his mane flying in either direction with the action. Alex watched both roads for a moment before he gave a small laugh and swept an arm toward the other road, the one that led down to the furthest shore of the land. "We've barely begun to explore the land over that way. Perhaps we should see what awaits us." Arrow gave a small, quiet nicker as if to say "oh great!"

  • Ocarin looked off in the direction Alex was gesturing to, and he gave a deep rumble. 'If that's what the King wants,' he snorted amusedly. He shook out his head, snowflakes flying off from his fur, before he started forward and began to run in the path leading towards the ocean.
