[ ic: And, as if on cue, there was a sudden rumbling throughout the land. The pyramid itself shook, dust falling from loose stones as cracks shot through them. The great structure did not fall, but it seemed destined to at any moment. It was the desert itself, however, that the focus of anyone outside would have been focused upon. The very sands were lifting off of the ground, spinning together in something much more menacing than a simple sandstorm - no, the whirled with the power of a tornado, and yet there seemed to be more dust and rock than wind itself. The twister did not move, but simply spun, growing wider as the moments passed.
It was not long until something from within the funnel ignited, shooting violet flames up the length of it. They spun as well, but died down just as quickly as they arrived. The tornado faded as well, the sands dropping to form dunes once more, and what little flame was left to burn did so within a small wall of black pillars. They had shot up from the ground itself, it would seem, and they were marked with glowing runes of magicks that were not of the Loa. At least, not of any Loa the Horde followed.
There was an enormous explosion. It was as if a fist of bright, violet flame had punched its way through the pillars. They shot out in all directions, landing anywhere from the distant desert sands to the market right next to the pyramid. One even dropped directly into the oasis pool, darkening its waters to a red pigment that was not so appealing to the eye.
Smoke and flames rushed out as well, but did not go so far, seeming to remain circled around the origin point of the explosion and tornado. They swirled for a moment before dimming down, exposing a creature of familiar, and yet unknown, descent. A dark symbol seared the ground beneath him, and it seemed as if the earth itself was inching away from the creature.
There, before all of the Horde, stood a jackal whose fur burned, rock rolling around within his lava-like exterior. He was gargantuan - the size of a whale, no doubt. Black horns of what looked almost like obsidian curled back on his center-most head - of which there were three. The additional pair looked fiercely towards the pyramid, though they were of mute expressions compared to the main face. It was smiling, a sickening grin having plastered itself upon the Cerberus's features.
Its eyes glowed a bright yellow, void of pupils - void of anything to express a sense of mortality. The same glow that filled the orbs seemed to match that which was exiting his slightly opened maw, but not only that - his chest was glowing as well. It seemed as if there were flames within him as well, burning with an unending fury. Surely the creature was one borne of hellfire. Surely it was evil.
Suddenly, it laughed a laugh that shook the ground, echoed around it as the other heads joined in to manipulate the sound. It rolled through even the tunnel walls, forcing anyone who had not noticed his presence before to do just that. Dark clouds rolled overhead, taunting the desert dwellers with a rain that would not fall.
"Such hollow, empty minds," The creature chuckled, and though it sounded as if more than one voice rang out, only the center-most head spoke. It was a voice that was so familiar, and yet the manipulation placed upon it shook its foundation to an almost unknown sort. Few would know the creature's name, and even fewer would attribute it to the body before them.
And thus, as the hourglass is flipped over once more and the sands of time begin tumbling down into the dawn of a new era. The only thing that could ever threaten the Horde is its creator.
Nasus Ghede had returned to reclaim his throne.
