  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]It was raining. Not too heavily, but it was enough to where Peachmoon would shut herself up inside.

The pastel furred vixen was slumped against the wall of the cabin, until she eventually slid down to where only her head rested against it. There really wasn't much to do on rainy days, was there? "Jax," the girl breathed her lover's name in an almost needy tone. Typically, Peachmoon wasn't one to often show affection, but... "Jax." This time she spoke in a firmer tone, as she fluttered her eyes in a dreamy way. Maybe she was just lonely.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 1px transparent solid; width: 400px; height: auto; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt;][justify]Jax had been snoozing in the other room of the small cabin on top of a dusty bed. He had been staring out the window next to the bed when it started raining, and the sound of the drops against the cabin made him sleepy, thus causing him to doze off.

A familiar voice made him stir, though sleep pulled him back into its embrace. The African canine sleepily mumbled something as he shifted against the wall. However, his little nap did not last much longer. The voice sounded once more, forcing Jax to awaken. His honey oculars fluttered open as he sat up. Jax's fur was messy from sleep, ruffled here and there as he rose to his paws and stumbled off of the bed. He made his way into the main room to find Peachmoon. From there he was able to infer that she was the owner of the voice that had been calling out to him. A sleepy sigh escaped his lips as he sat down next to her, slowly waking up. "Yes?" Jax mumbled.

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]Peachmoon tilted her head in the direction where Jax had emerged. That's right; Jax had been sleeping. No wonder, since often all he did was work, work, work. And then the journey to their new home in the fields had also been exhausting. Maybe she should've apologized for waking the poor guy up, but Peachmoon seemed to only be focused on her own interests.

For a few moments she only stared at him with her usual distant look before speaking again. "Honey eyes," she spoke almost wistfully. Now there was a nickname she hadn't used in a long time. Closing her eyes, the girl leaned forward in an attempt to give her fiance a delicate kiss.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 1px transparent solid; width: 400px; height: auto; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt;][justify]He remembered when he had been the Advisor of War and thought that was hard work. He can tell you now that going from Advisor to leader is a big change, and it had been pretty damn hard to transition. Sometimes he missed his freedom. Even now he still has a lot of work; days like these when no one was out were a blessing. Jax could relax and not worry about a subordinate crashing through his door with some idea that made little sense.

Honey eyes. The nickname brought back memories from when he had been a teenager, meeting Peachmoon (or back then, Peachpaw) for the first time. That time was a much simpler one. He remembered the non-evil Finnishwars who always teased him and whined about their aunt, and when Easternpacific had been around. Sometimes he missed his sister. Jax was snapped out of his reverie when he felt lips press against his. His eyes shut as the kiss was placed, and then he reopened them once she pulled away. "We haven't done that in a while," he murmured. Jax felt guilty for not spending enough time with his beloved fiancée. He missed her very much, but his work was demanding. Perhaps today he should dedicate his time to her. The African canine still felt father groggy, but he liked the idea of sitting around and wasting time with Peachmoon.

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]Peachmoon gave Jax a small grin after listening to his notion. "It's fine. You can always make up for that," the girl murmured as she drew a pale paw up to try and smooth her lover's messy fur. It was nice knowing that she was (and likely would always be) the only one who would ever see Jax in such a state. Funny how the cold and strict leader of WindClan could be so gentle. Of course, Peachmoon knew his sweeter side from the beginning, so this had never surprised her. Maybe she just wanted a reason to feel special.

"You know, living forever isn't so bad if it's with you," the medic stated with an almost embarrassed expression. Peachmoon wasn't much of a flirt, or simply one to state her feelings at all, so saying these sorts of things were new to her. It was all true, though. If her bond with Jax was as eternal as her life, then so be it.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 1px transparent solid; width: 400px; height: auto; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt;][justify]"Who said that I have to make up for it?" he mumbled in reply. His golden eyes fluttered shut as she smoothed his fur, a blissful sigh escaping his noise. Jax had forgotten how good it felt to be alone with Peachmoon. Here he was safe from everything else. To be quite honest, he would have loved to just stay in there with her indefinitely. Alas, that was not possible. He had a job to do. That didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the peace while it lasted, though.

Jax's eyes opened at her next statement, immediately noticing her bashful expression. A soft, small smile appeared on his lips. As he watched her he realized just how much he adored the girl in front of him. He loved everything about her. The canine was quiet for a long moment before speaking. "I love you, Peachmoon," he said to her. Jax attempted to press a kiss in between her ears before opening his mouth once more. "Y'know, we've been engaged for a while now," he hummed. "What exactly are we waiting for?"

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]Peachmoon smoothed down the fur where Jax had kissed her as she looked up at him with wide, pale eyes. Ah, what were they waiting for? "Just until you feel ready," the girl replied. She personally didn't mind how soon they wedded. "Besides, I thought you wanted to have a wedding?" Peachmoon could vaguely recall the day Kleff married her. Really, Peachmoon didn't care if they did it publicly or not. It was still a promise either way.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 1px transparent solid; width: 400px; height: auto; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt;][justify]Jax scoffed. "I've always been ready, and I don't recall ever saying that I wanted a big wedding," he said, a sigh escaping his maw. "To be honest, Peachmoon, I don't need anything but you. I don't want anything but you. I also don't really feel like having the entire Clan plus the somewhat sane part of my family gawking at us whilst we kiss," the canine told her. A smile appeared on his lips once more as he looked down and into her big baby blues. Jax had only the strongest fidelity when it came to Peachmoon, and he would very much like to spend the rest of his life (however long that this 'life' may be) with that very girl. In that moment he realized that all of that drama with Jailbreak had been worth it, as if it weren't for that he would have never gotten to this point with Peachmoon.

"Why don't we just call ourselves married and get on with it? Today can be our honeymoon; we can just spend the entire day inside with each other without interruption. With how hard it's raining, I doubt that anyone will try and make the trek to our cabin," he suggested. He felt like he was skipping out on working; after all, what was a little bit of rain going to do? He could still work in the rain. However, Jax wanted to spend a day with Peachmoon regardless if they were getting married or not. They both deserved to be together for at least a day.

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 450px][justify]"I just —" She was about to explain her reasoning until Jax continued. Yes, Peachmoon was used to the "I love you"'s and whatnot, but statements like he'd just made really made her pelt heat up. She just could never get used to hearing stuff like that about her. She pressed her lips firmly together as her ears lowered in embarrassment.

Peachmoon honestly quite liked Jax's proposal, and not just because she was fine with anything. "Alright," she managed to murmured. Though soon a small grin slipped onto her maw as she sighed. The girl attempted to wrap her forelegs around her lover in a tight hug. "I think you make a rather handsome groom...even with your bedhead," she giggled softly.
