[ summary ] Tansypaw lives a normal life in RiverClan, well, normal until she receives the word that she is pregnant. In a world where apprentice-aged pregnancies are unheard of, follow Tansypaw as she works to cover up her mistakes while dealing with normal 'paw drama. Betrayal. Drama. Loss. Moonlight was slowly filling the island, bathing white fluorescent light onto two felines, there pelts meshed together. The usual breeze that chilled the sparse whips of river grasses was non-existent. There were no sounds other than the fall crickets and the mutterings between the two.

Tansypaw shifted her head to where she could see Goldenpaw's eyes, a river shade of blue against wheat colored fur. They were filled with warmth, she noted, love, admiration. The tiny apprentice hoped desperately that hers reflected the same emotions.

Goldenpaw's maw pulled up in a wispy smile. He was large enough to wrap his entire body around Tansypaw, even though it got a little uncomfortable, Tansypaw couldn't have cared any less at that moment. The golden tom holding her right then was her everything, more than she could ever need in life.

"I'm gonna be your mate when we're warriors, right?" It was a stupid question now, but the small she-cat always asked it - more of like a tease. The tom had answered that question more times than Tansypaw could count stars. It was always the same, well, except this particular situation.

"Why aren't we mates now?" It was a good question. One that Tansypaw had never been particularly fond of. What was stopping them though? It seemed like a good idea at the time of course. She couldn't even get a word out. Nothing. Nothing was stopping them but old traditions that were outdated anyways.

Tansypaw smiled. Two bodies meshed together, silhouette in starry moonlight. Away from the duties of camp, they felt free. Invincible.
