So I've been thinking for a while about moving the Diverging to a new territory. I know we just moved, but I have a lot of ideas. I also have a few ideas for the current territory though, so I'm torn.
For the new territory, I was thinking a huge dock, with one main platform that stretches for maybe 100ish yards, and is about 30 yards wide. Other, smaller docks would branch out from this one, but the big dock is the main focus. There would be lots and lots of boats parked here, from tiny sailboats like splashes and etchells, to huge deluxe boats like giant sailboats and multi-million dollar yachts. for some reason humans have completely abandoned this area (maybe due to a virus outbreak or something?) and the Diverging will have free reign. On land, there is a store that used to sell supplies for maintaining the boats, so the members have plenty of materials to keep their home in good shape.
Each member gets their own boat or, if they wish, they can share a boat with someone else. Roomates are common on big boats, and some boats can house several members. At the end of the dock is a giant sailboat. Below deck is where important meetings are held between the high-positions, and any top-secret or secure information is lock away in a secret area. Any member can live in any boat, but typically HPs inhabit the boats closest to the yacht, which are also some of the largest boats. When an HP is demoted, they don't have to give up their boat near the yacht, and instead are allowed to stay there as long as they wish.
One of the side docks is fenced it with a tall metal fence. After the Diverging moves in, barbed wire will be added to the top. The dock was originally fenced in because it was starting to rot, but now it serves as a prison. An old boat, which was also in bad shape when it was abandoned, was moved inside the fence to serve as a prison cell.
The Diverging will take on a nautical theme, totally over-writing the old ranks.
HPs:
Captain - Leader
First Mate - Deputy
Bosun - Senior members who help prepare Semi-HPs like deck hands, and keep the clan in order (ex. settling fights, etc.) They also will often lead a party into battle
Semi-HPs:
Chief Engineer - Specifically in charge of training deckhands how to maintain boats, and also oversee boat checks
Deckhands - Usually the first tier of promotion, deckhands do any jobs that need doing, and make regular boat checks to make sure that all boats are in good shape.
Non-HPs:
Crew - Regular members
Ship Apprentices - Crew in training
Maidens - Mothers
Kits - Anyone too young to become a ship apprentice
+more to be added
Captain - Leader
First Mate - Deputy
Bosun - Highest HP below the deputy, can plan large events
Chief Engineer - Attend HP meetings and give input
Second Engineer - The second tier of rank, an upgrade of Third Engineer. Hold small events, and are in charge of keeping the clan happy and active
Third Engineer - The lowest tier of HP/Semi-HPs, usually the first step in promotion. They have a similar function to the Second engineer, but they are newer, and aren't yet as responsible.
Deckhands? - Know all about the boats, service boats, and teach members how to sail.

Boats like Splashes and Lido 14s are super easy to sail (I'm a beginner and I can sail them), so I was thinking, maybe some members could learn to sail? Only certain animals can do it, like bigger cats, monkeys, and maybe a few others (using hands and mouths), but it would be really cool, and something I've never seen other clans do before. Obviously, bigger boats wouldn't really be an option, except for maybe primates, but it would be something pretty awesome for the clan.
For the old territory, I realizing how undeveloped this idea is compared to the new territory. Welp.
A lot of colorful birds live in the jungle, and the clan could start some sort of tradition system, where members wear or possess different feathers depending on their status. When promoted, or when an apprentice becomes a full fledged member, it's sort of a right of a right of passing to hunt down an catch a certain bird, the higher the HP, the more rare and difficult to catch the bird is, making it a sort of mark of respect.

Well, what do you guys think?
