    Hakunapaw Dubois!

Hakuna was within his hut on the day of September 11th, 2015, watching the portable television device that Fastpelt had given him. Even with the assistance of the antenna, he only had a few channels for a few hours each day. The lion cub scrolled through the few stations he had with the buttons on the box tv, pausing for a moment when he noticed something extraordinary happening. On the screen, even though he was unable to understand what the humans were saying, he noticed an aircraft. An aircraft crashing into a large building. His bright citrus orange luminaries widened in disbelief as yet another plane hit the identical figure standing next to it. The lion cub did not understand entirely what was happening, only that he noticed human beings leaping out from the windows of the building and waving anything they could find in a failed attempt to be noticed by the rescue crews below. He did not know why, but tears began to fill his optics at the sight of their struggle. It just seemed like they were so hopeless, yet near the end of the memorial, they flashed images of people working together to bring back what had been lost. It was awe-inspiring, and it just made him long ever-the-more to know what he had just witnessed taking place.
An important individual came on afterwards, one that he did not know or recognize, but the letters "George W. Bush" were at the bottom of the screen. After a moment of listening and watching, Hakuna realized that he was giving a speech of some sort. It went a little like this . . .
"This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world. The terrorists saw liberty and thought they saw weakness, and now they will see defeat."
Hakuna shut off the television when the channel went dark after the announcement, flashing back to some strange cooking show that he usually purposely avoided due to the lady's annoying voice. He turned and let out an upset sigh, using a fore paw to rub his cranium in an unnerved manner at the horrific images that had just flashed before his eyes. He took to turning on the makeshift radio within his room, allowing a faint grin to flutter onto his features at the song that came on. Hakuna found himself singing along with the solemn voice of the singer, allowing his emotions to shine through after having just observed one of the darkest days in American history.
"I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, 'I'll never let you go'
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, 'Don't leave me here alone'
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

    Just close your eyes
    The sun is going down
    You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
    Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare look out your window darling
    Everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
    Hold onto this lullaby
    Even when the music's gone
    Gone

    Just close your eyes
    The sun is going down
    You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
    Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

    Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
    La La (La La)
    La La (La La)
    Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
    La La (La La)

    Just close your eyes
    You'll be alright
    Come morning light,
You and I'll be safe and sound...

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh oh oh . . ."
