intelligent, practical, analytical. if there's one thing to be said about yukio, it's that he has a keen mind. it's easy for him to cope with new situations and to solve any problems that may arise. he enjoys facts over speculation, tending towards research and study over simply thinking about the possibilities. it's rare that he isn't precise with his words or writings, methodical in how he arranges things or performs different tasks. more often than not, he's rather hard to deceive; being naturally intuitive gives him the uncanny ability to sense the ulterior motives of the people around him. to top it off, he's observant with a keen interest in some of the smaller details. he's very attentive and never forgets the details that he thinks are important.

soft-hearted, tender, gentle. other people always come first, even if that means putting his own safety and interests at stake in order to help or save them. thoughtful enough that he'd give his last dollar, he may even be a little too kind for his own good. all the same, you can bet he won't turn his back on you and he's more than just a bit reliable. he'll be there for you no matter what, a sympathetic shoulder to lean on who's still level-headed enough to lend both an ear and a few words of wisdom.

fussy, nitpicky, overcritical. to his core, yukio is very particular about the way certain things are done, and how he wants things to be, and he often expects others to stand up to those expectations. he's a perfectionist who likes when things are done properly, orderly, and when things are neat and even. he's a clean freak and can be annoying to those around him, as he's somewhat of a stickler for tidiness. organizing and arranging things come naturally to him, so much so that he often straightens things in the places that he visits.

nosy, cold, inexpressive. it's natural for him to ask questions when he finds something to be interesting, and that includes people. his direct questions and level-headed mask often make him seem rude, as if he's simply trying to pry into their personal lives for the enjoyment of it. that's not his intention. he lacks many experiences in life, often going by what he reads in books, so more often than not he's simply unsure of how to express himself. small smiles and frowns aren't rare but what should be a bigger display also comes in small forms; a little chuckle, maybe a giggle. don't mistake him for being naïve though, he only lacks real-world experience and not knowledge.

yukio has a strong sense of good and bad and, while he's normally a rather passive teenager, he can be very agile when the situation demands it. his need to analyze things often results in slow decision making, as he has to go over every detail and know all of the facts before he makes his choice. it's not unusual for him to allow others to decide on things for him, if he trusts their judgement, but even that doesn't keep his brain from ticking. though he can be rather critical, he treats everyone equally: with respect and attention.

not exactly an extrovert but not really an introvert, he falls somewhere in between. he's a pretty invisible character, often going unnoticed by the people around him. he isn't bullied or unliked, it's just that it's hard for him to make friends when his school attendance is so sporadic. or at least used to be. it's hard for him to forgive and let go of it when someone has wronged him, though his method of dealing with such is to simply avoid interacting with the wrongdoer when possible. he's mature, confrontation is the last thing he wants. it's better for him to just keep his distance and let things continue to play themselves out. but that's not to say that he wouldn't stand up for someone that he cares about.

even though it may not seem so, he can be very emotional at times. such occasions are normally kept private, when he's alone in his room, but there are rare moments when those displays are made in public. of course, in the presence of other people, his public displays of emotion tend to be muted like his little smiles. he's also a romantic at heart, though his methods may seem unusual. he shows his adoration with simple acts of kindness, little things that he doesn't do for just anyone; cleaning or cooking meals, doing the driving, giving a basic massage (nothing professional, of course). it's the little things that count with him, he wants the people he cares about to know that they don't have to go out of their way. there's no need to spend a lot of money, he'd be perfectly content with curling up on the couch to watch a movie.

written personality: To some, he is referred to as a “bad weed” — although this may only be speaking to/about most adults, and generally teachers in this case. He enjoys causing trouble and doing things he “shouldn't” be, which usually includes sneaking out, ditching, breaking-and-entering/trespassing, and the typical partying that consists of drinking, smoking, and all that jazz. He is definitely the partying type and knows how to have fun, and to not get caught in the process. He enjoys spending his time doing something, anything, to pass the time... but he also enjoys spending his time doing something that will matter later, yet somehow he always wants to have a good time.

To his peers and acquaintance’s, he is seen as an extrovert and is quite known to be blunt and assertive. He's rather open to others, but he doesn't express his emotions well — partially because he doesn't want them to see it as a weakness, but also because he can't explain how he feels. He also tends to be a more upbeat person and doesn't bring others down, but he also doesn't have a filter on his mouth, so he might hurt someone's feelings without intention, and he's also known to curse quite frequently, although not all the time. Although he's a “bad kid”, he also gets exceptionally good grades in school somehow, but he'd rather people believe he's not a good student like that — like one who gets perfect grades and outstanding scores.

To his friends — the one's that he has actually stated are his friends, at that — he is more open with his feelings and emotions, although not fully since he, partially, doesn't believe anyone can/could understand him and be empathetic. He also doesn't believe in having anyone labelled as his “best friend” because he believes that's where actual family comes in, however, it may be possible for someone to be called his “sister”/“brother” — and they are someone to whom he has an undying loyalty to and trusts them inexplicably. He's also the protective type and is definitely open for a fight if someone threatens him or his friend(s), and it'll be even worse if someone threatened someone who was of greater importance to him.

There isn't any true or substantial difference in his personality depending on who he's with, since he tends/seems to always displays his true colors. The only difference, which is rather minuscule, is how much he will tell someone, including things like his secrets, emotions/feelings, or asking for advice. He's definitely strong in both mind and body, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have moments of weakness, although he does try his best to stay strong for his friends and to always smile. He's also rather considerate and sympathetic, and he'd rather be the one person who can fix any problem and make anyone feel better, probably because he lived part of his childhood being a kind of underdog and never being able to truly do anything to help himself. He wants to change himself for the better and make sure no one has to endure physical or emotional pain.
