  • (SO EPIC! XD)

Eric had been pacing again in front of the throne. He stopped when the doors swung open and Cyril and the Fledgling causing all the trouble for the Hunters were standing there. Eric narrowed his eyes at the Fledgling and took a sniff of the air to try and define the young one's scent. Definitely a newly turned Fledgling, but there was something else beneath it. Something that Eric couldn't quite place. "So you're the one causing all the chaos," he snarled, frankly quite unhappy. Eric had an air about him that commanded respect and obedience from all who came before him, even in humans and werewolves like.

  • (LOL)

The young vampire struggled in Cyril's grip, trying to grasp himself free. But he stopped when Eric spoke, pausing in his movements. The Vampire Lord's voice sent chills down his back. "Chaos?" He repeated, finally speaking after what seemed like years, the silence deafening to his ears. Cyril gave an annoyed sigh and crossed the Throne Room towards the middle before Eric, dragging Kyle with him. He then released the young vampire and stepped a little away without taking his eyes off of him. "Yes, chaos. I saw you heading over in the direction of the Hunters. Its you who has been killing those humans."

Kyle froze, his body tensing. He didn't reply for a while. "What humans?"

  • (^_^)

Eric gave something that sounded like a growl, but deeper. He crossed the room in two seconds, standing in front of Kyle with a look of plain fury on his face, his crimson eyes looking deadly up close. "Don't pull the stupid act with me!" He shouted, his voice booming around the chamber and bouncing off the walls. "The Hunters have lost five from their ranks in the past month! You have been the one behind it all!" He definitely wasn't happy and it was evident in his eyes and voice and the way he moved.

  • (Hey, do you maybe remember what Lucien, Dexter, and Kyle's abilities were?? @_@ )

Kyle flinched from Eric's very loud voice, his body still as stone and chills travelling down his back. Even Cyril didn't move or say a word. He couldn't manage to meet Eric's gaze; eventually he looked away, and then down at the floor. He didn't know who these vampires were, but they seemed to be authoritative and powerful. The Hunters... He guessed they were talking about the humans with the weapons. "I didn't have the intention of killing..." He replied in a very quiet, low voice.

  • (XD no. We'll have to read the thread over to find out.)

"We have laws," Eric stated, his voice still loud, but calming down it seemed. "Laws that were established after the Great War. Vampires are only allowed to feed off of the humans. Killing them is unlawful and punishable by death. Werewolves are now able to roam freely as long as they obey our territory boundaries. Killing those five Hunters this month has made their Headmaster very upset, which makes me very upset!" This close to the Fledgling, Eric could pick up his scent more easily. His crimson eyes narrowed viciously.

"You're not a normal Fledgling," he breathed quietly, his voice snarling out of his voice. Eric caught Kyle's chin with his fingers, his talons lightly brushing the young man's chin while the Lord vampire bent down to get a better sniff at the young one's scent. After a moment, Eric rose and looked the young man up and down. "Who's your Shire?"

  • (I know Dexter's. He could move stuff with this mind. I think Lucien had something to do with weather, and for Kyle no clue lol )

Kyle blinked at Eric's words. 'Not a normal Fledgling.' He sucked in a silent, sharp breath and mustered his courage to reply in a rather quiet voice, "I cannot say..." He was told never to reveal much, and he didn't want to go back on that.

  • (XD I'm going to read up on it ^_^ *opens page 1 in a different tab to read*)

Eric's crimson gaze narrowed at the young Fledgling, but he took a step back. "Cyril," he said, looking to his friend. "What do you think?" He sounded as though he'd been asking council with his friend for a long time and that meant that the vampire who had captured Kyle had a high standing with this one that commanded respect and obedience.

  • (LOL I do that all the time)

Cyril walked half way around the Fledgling so that he was in sight, his eyes studying him intently. "I think we should make him speak, at least get the answers we want out." Kyle's own eyes followed Cyril as he moved, and he tried to stay absolutely still and calm as he listened. "I'm sorry," he repeated in a quiet voice once more. "I really cannot say..."

Cyril then scowled at him. "Then you must be hiding something important."

Kyle took a nervous step back, shaking his head. "No, that's not really... I mean... That's not what I mean."

  • (lol The beginning of this was so intense! >.< XD)

"You wouldn't be so ready to hide things from the Lord of all Vampires if it wasn't important," Eric snarled, stepping up to Cyril's side before he floated around to the back of the young Fledgling. "We won't be lenient with you any longer, Fledgling. We'll do whatever's necessary to make you tell us what we need to know or things will go south fairly quickly for you."

  • (LOL all that tension xD)

Kyle froze and quickly spun around when Eric suddenly disappeared, only to reappear behind him. These two vampires seemed too quick and strong, he didn't like having his back to them. His hands subconsciously clenched into fists in an attempt to calm himself down as he took in a breath. "I-I don't know anything, I'm just a Fledgling. I'm not sure why you would see me as different from others - sir," he quickly added the formality, obviously aware of his lower place. "I cannot say because - because I'm not allowed."

  • (XD indeed)

"Your scent," Eric stated, nodding toward Kyle, his claws clicking quietly beside him. "It's different from Cyril's or even the Watchers that keep watch in the Courtyard. They all have the scent of a normal vampire but you...your scent is different. It's not like Cyril's and that, my dear boy, is cause for concern. I'll ask again: Who is your Shire?" One of his hands clenched air and an icy sword began to form, runes covering the blade to the tip and had an air of darkness about it as well as ice. The Void Sword, one of Dracula's weapons.

  • (I tried looking over the pgs, and I don't think we gave Kyle an ability yet because u said he'd be a late bloomer lol )

Kyle's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of the sword. He had never witnessed such abilities of a vampire, other than Lucien's and Dexter's. The ice had formed out of nowhere and so did the blade. "W-Wait," he pleaded as he raised his hands as one would to calm a wild animal. "I don't understand what you mean by different scents." But of course he did, with his sharp senses of a Keeper. He just didn't know why that was alarming. He took a few steps backward, but froze when he heard Cyril's hiss from the other side. He looked around desperately for a way out; the only way he could find was the Throne room doors. "And I promised not to say a word - I apologize, but I cannot say a word!"

  • (Oh yea! I remember that! XD)

"Why?" Eric demanded, stepping forward with the sword held a bit higher in to the air, poised to strike if he needed to. "I swear to the one the humans worship that I'll run you through if you don't speak!"
"Dracula!" The sudden voice at Eric's back dragged his attention away from the boy and to the throne room doors that now swung wide to reveal a hooded and darkly armored vampire. His arms were thrown to either side as though he'd thrown the doors aside. The armor was the darkest shade of crimson, as though blood being cast into shadow. When he lifted his head, his eyes were bright gold rimmed with the red of vampirism.

A snarl came from the old one's throat, revealing his fangs as his hands dropped to his sides. "Do not lay a hand on the boy. He's one of mine." Lucien extended a hand toward Kyle as a father would a small child and waved it toward himself. "Come here, child."

  • ( xDD )

Kyle, who was shocked to see Lucien here, glanced sideways at both Eric and Cyril before he quickly and swiftly crossed the Throne Room to the other vampire. He felt more than relieved that someone he trusted was here, but at the same time he was nervous of what might happen next.

Cyril was caught by surprised, eyes staring wide at the hooded vampire who had burst inside out of nowhere. Then his eyes narrowed at the two. Their scents were similar, and different from theirs. With silent movements he slid across the floor and stood close to Eric defensively.

  • Eric's own crimson eyes narrowed at the two the instant their scents mingled. "Who are you, stranger?" he demanded as Lucien's arm wrapped around Kyle's shoulders.
"My name's Lucien," said the old vampire, giving the boy a reassuring squeeze before his golden eyes returned to the two most powerful vampires. "I apologize for anything my child has done wrong. He's still learning."
"Still learning," snarled Eric, most unpleased and it showed in his attitude and the way the sky darkened and crackled with tension(Because Dracula! XD). "Still learning would mean that him killing a human would be an accident. Still learning wouldn't him going around killing five of the Hunters! Their leader is very upset, as am I!"

"And I apologize," Lucien said with a dip of his head, though remained straightened as though challenging these two. He acted as Dracula's equal in some way. "I realize now that letting Kyle out on his own this early was a mistake. He's still a lot to learn and will be remaining at the Keep until he's learned more of the Laws." Eric frowned and the sky seemed to darken more for a moment before the first flash of lightning illuminated the sky.
"Keep?" He snarled. Then realization struck and he soon pointed his weapon toward Lucien with a threatening snarl. "You're a Keeper! You're both Keepers!" Lucien's muscles tensed and his hand cupped at his side. Tension seemed to sizzle and crackle in the center of his palm for a moment before the built up pressure surfaced and formed into a visible lightning bolt in the shape of a sword.

(But made of pure lightning, except for the hilt :D)

  • (Ooooo cool :D )

Keepers. At Eric's words, Cyril's eyes widened. They were Keepers - who were, in fact, supposed to be existing no more. He reacted quickly as soon as the lightning began to form at Lucien's hand into a sword. He too prepared himself, the darkness of the Throne Room seeming to swirl and thicken into pure black shadows that seemed to pulse almost like a heart beat, growing after every beat. Cyril was ready in case any of the Keepers attacked.

Kyle was quite overwhelmed, body tense. He didn't like the situation. He hadn't discovered his ability yet, so he would be no help to Lucien. It was roughly two strong vampires against one strong vampire.

"I wouldn't suggest you do anything," Cyril then spoke out calmly but with a cautious tone, narrowed eyes flickering from Lucien to Kyle.

  • (Ikr?! :D Lol)

Lucien jerked his head over to Eric, who's grip on his sword tightened. Lucien had gently pushed Kyle behind him for a moment, prepared for a fight. "You let us leave," he rumbled, his feet shifting on the ground. "And I'll guarantee that this Fledgling gets proper training."
"My father never trusted the word of a Keeper," snarled Eric, tilting his head slightly to the side while his eyes narrowed further, his fangs glinting in what little light came in through the window. "What makes you so different?"
"Because I was the only one of my kind to survive your father's Purge," Lucien snarled, a wolf's snarl echoing in his voice. "All I wish is to rebuild my kind!"

"Why should I let you?" Eric demanded, another flash of lightning illuminating the sky and chamber alike. "You're nothing like us! You're unpredictable!" Lucien grinned at Eric's words.
"Unpredictable, yes," Lucien rumbled, the sword at his hand disappearing with a rumble of thunder before Lucien straightened and gripped the Fledgling's arm tight. "But not dangerous to our own kind."

  • ( :D )

For a moment silence seemed to follow, along with the tension in the air. Kyle's silver-blue eyes wandered back and forth between the vampires. Cyril stared at the Keepers intently, the shadows seeming to calm down but he didn't lower his guard just yet. "You must know what punishment is given for breaking the law. How can you guarantee that Fledgling won't make another mistake?"

  • (page 17 is where Lucien and Dexter's powers are :D)

"Because he will learn," Lucien answered cooly, relaxing his grip on the Fledgling's arm. "From someone who's not a Keeper. I've passed by that human Sanctuary. I've scented the vampires they have there. If they're willing to teach, then I'm willing to give Kyle the chance to learn the Laws and see to it that he doesn't do it again." Lucien gave Kyle a look that warned the child not to argue before he looked back at the two obviously more powerful vampires. "What say you, Lord Dracula?" Eric remained where he was, his sword poised to strike if necessary. His crimson gaze went between Lucien and Kyle for a brief moment before he dropped his arm to his side, though the sword remained visible.

"Cyril, send one of the Watchers to Banner. See if he's willing to allow his Finders to teach this Fledgling the Law."

  • (Ohh ok thanks!)

Kyle might have said something if it weren't for the look Lucien gave. He frowned but remained silent. He didn't like the sound of where this was going. Couldn't Lucien just teach him instead?

Cyril looked to Eric and gave a slow nod and began to head for the doors. He stopped momentarily before the Keepers before he swerved and passed through without a word, though his eyes said everything.

    Kyle stayed absolutely still, unmoving.
