    [HISTORY] Born Araminta Ensley Johnson in a private hospital in Beverly Hills, Arin found herself entering a significantly privileged world. Her parents were both rich - her father was a lawyer and her mother a private psychiatrist - and she was given everything that she wanted as a child. She had only one older sister, Charlotte, who was born five years before her, and whilst the two were quite far apart in age they got on as any sisters would. That is, to say, not at all.
    As the girls grew older, they drifted further apart, often getting into fights that were verbal and physical. Both were naturally popular and gifted in intellect, looks and athleticism, but whilst Arin was excitable and loud, Charlotte was calm and polite. Their parents were both rarely at home, often leaving the children with an au pair or nanny who spoke almost no English - it was because of this that Arin and Charlotte both became competent at several languages, able to act independently and confidently when left to themselves.
    But Charlotte's future was not as bright as it looked. One day, during just another school day, the ten year-old fell ill and fainted. She was sent home and returned to school the next day, the teachers noticed that her speech was a little slurred, her attention somewhere else completely. They informed her parents, but the information never got past her father's assistant.
    Two days later, Charlotte suffered a second stroke, this time a major one, a blood vessel bursting in her brain. She was taken to hospital immediately, but, while she survived her ability to live normally was severely depleted - she could no longer speak, or walk, remember her own name, eat by herself or even swallow without the help of a machine triggering the reflex for her. In short, she was no longer Charlotte.
    Arin's parents were distraught by the event, informed that the stroke had been triggered by high blood pressure; something that could have been treated easily if they had only tested for it. Her mother quit her job and returned home to look after Charlotte full-time, while her father began to spend even longer periods out on cases and hardly any time with his so suddenly doomed family.
    Arin, on the other hand, was forgotten in the chaos. She was only five years old when it happened, old enough to register a chance but too young to understand it. She grew up alone, eternally terrified of the room in her house where her sister lay, so often accompanied by her mother. It frightened her, being in a room surrounded by machines and doctors and a sister who would no longer answer her questions, or even turn to look at her.
    But, over time, the girl got used to it. She ignored her mother's slow descent into depression, and she replaced her need for attention with what she could control: the other people around her. She read her mother's books on psychology, learned how the human mind works and perceives, and she put that knowledge into practice. In a few short years Arin had become incredibly manipulative, constantly getting into trouble at her school for violent behaviour and then faking one of various mental disorders in front of the school councillors. Her games got her into meeting after meeting with the school councillors, into hundreds of sessions of the best therapy that there was, but while her parents paid for her healthcare they never took an interest. Her mother never left Charlotte's room, and her father never left his office.
    Arin grew angrier. She began to act out against other people, adopting violence as a way to express her need for attention. By the time she was eight she no longer had a nanny - none of them would work with her - and she had been expelled from three of the best elementary schools in the state. Yet still nothing worked, and finally something snapped inside Arin's mind.
    So she targeted the one thing that her mother truly cared about. One day, after her mother left Charlotte's room to fetch water, Arin snuck in. Charlotte, despite having been seen by the best private doctors in the country, was deteriorating in her condition, and could barely breathe by herself. She scared her younger sister, lying motionless and passive, attached to a hundred different tubes and wires.
    So, naturally, Arin unplugged them.
    Of course, most doctors argued that she was too young to understand what she had done, but her mother wasn't so sure. She came back into the room just in time, and, while Charlotte's life was saved, her progress was dramatically affected.
    Finally, however, her mother turned her attention to Arin, realising that she had been ignoring the one daughter who still had a chance. Yet it was already too late - Arin's mind had twisted in on itself, and she had just learned that, by doing something bad, she would be rewarded with what she most wanted.
    It only got worse from there - as Charlotte slowly began to improve, Arin only plummeted. Throughout middle and high school Arin feigned an angel-like goodness, becoming easily popular through her manipulation of the people around her. But any trace of genuine emotion appeared to be gone, her eyes dead to the world - occasionally, her volatility showed itself to the outside world. When she was fifteen, the girl stole a car and crashed it into a tree; when she was seventeen, she was arrested for repeatedly slamming a girl's head against a wall after learning that she had spread a rumour about her. It was at this point that Arin's father finally came into play, and it was him that first suggested to the court that she had mild Schizophrenia, reducing her sentence from five years behind bars for almost killing a girl to fifteen months in a psychiatric hospital.
    Two years later, the organisation found her. She had severed all family ties the moment she was released back into the world, and proceeded to perfect her technique in surviving through lying. You see, the girl was clever, and she had made a plan during those fifteen months, one that meant travelling around the world, surviving on secrets. She would use her wealth to access parties where, by any means possible, she would become close to someone until they spilt their dirty little secrets into her ear. Then, she would twist them around one elegant finger, blackmailing and extorting to her heart's desire.
    [HOW THE ORGANISATION FOUND HER] She happened to possess information on a particularly secretive politician which she was using to blackmail him for money. It took no more than a job offer for her to hand it over to them.
    [EARLIEST MEMORY] Attempting to climb the stairs by herself aged three. She failed miserably, despite trying to clamber up the steps for almost six hours, and so proceeded to line plastic toys along the bottom step so 'no one could go up'.
    [HAPPIEST MEMORY] Being recruited by the Blood Phoenix.
    [SADDEST MEMORY] Being dumped for the first and last time, by her 'true love' in seventh grade. He spent the next night in hospital.

    [PERSONALITY]
    [INNOCENT] This trait is more of an act - due to her looks and general demeanour, Arin often comes across as innocent to those who don't know her at all. This soon changes.
    [PSYCHOPATH] Arin's personality can be summed up with one word: in short, she is a Psychopath. Whilst brilliant at imitating the behaviour of others, she is mentally unstable within herself, and so will often snap easily from cheerfully calm to violent and impatient. This makes her unpredictable even to those who know her, but it aids her greatly in her job, as she can easily adopt an entirely different persona, and manipulate others confidently into giving her information.
    [MANIPULATIVE] Arin possesses a certain gift when it comes to twisting people around her little finger. She knows exactly what to say and do to lure someone in and then trick them into trusting her, and finds it easy to change her own behaviour as one might change their clothes.
    [SEDUCTIVE] Arin has always been aware of her innocent good looks, and she uses them to her advantage as much as she can. In this aspect, many might regard her to be one step short of a prostitute - however, instead of selling her body for money she does it for secrets. There is nothing that she will hold back when on a job, especially if it will allow her to gain information that would otherwise be out of her reach. Because of this, she works better with those who are attracted to her, the majority of whom tend to be older men with nothing but money.
    [SOCIOPATHIC] When she is being herself, Arin finds it difficult to attach to people. She can easily make friends, but can never get close enough to them to trust them, and if she does show them who she truly is, they only get scared away. To her, social skills are equations to be calculated, and it is this that holds her back from her true feelings.
    [WILD] This trait goes hand-in-hand with her psychotic and often violent tendencies, brought on by her desperation to be the centre of attention.. Arin has always been impulsive and outgoing, and will often be the heart of the party if she is in a good mood. It is this that often attracts people to her; her unpredictability and mysterious impulsiveness reminds many of the person they wish they could be. Then they get to know her better, and that feeling quickly goes away.
    [MORBID] Another advantage of Arin's disconnection from her emotions is that she has no problem at all with violence, or even death. In fact, she often finds it fascinating, and will take something close to delight in studying the reactions of others as if they are subjects, and she is the scientist.
    [INSECURE] Underneath her entirely threatening facade, Arin is extremely insecure. She rarely lets out her feelings, and, thanks to that, she no longer knows quite was is normal and what is not when it comes to her own behaviour. She hates letting people in on her own secrets and feelings, and finds it extremely uncomfortable when she feels she is being truly seen.




    [MORALITY] Arin has no sense of morality at all. She has no problem causing pain or distress - in fact, she finds it interesting, often intrigued by the different reactions that people have to it.
    [REACTION TO LOSS] If, unusually, she becomes close to someone before losing them, she will often shut the notion out of her mind completely. She hates to talk about people that she has lost, and will not allow herself to even think about them.
    [REACTION TO PAIN] Oddly enough, she doesn't like the sight of her own blood too much. She will often act calm under pain, exhibiting the symptoms of someone who is barely affected, but in truth she hates being hurt. To her, it is a weakness.
