    After locking Malefore into the Earth's core, Spyro and Cynder had managed to stop the war, chaos, and destruction that Malefore had brought upon the planet. Thinking that all the corruption was over with, Spyro and Cynder had an hatchling and over time, both the hatchling and the land grew in perfect health. But what they didn't know was that they weren't the only ones who had hatchlings, so did Malefore....
