    Floatingkit had been perusing along the river herself, trying to find any shells or something cool to keep in her hut. Seeing the tortoiseshell named Aerialkit standing out in the river, the femme quickly dropped her collected treasures and waded out to her. "Hey!" she called, closing in on her. "What are you up to in the river?"

    "Well, it's nice to meet you, Aerialkit!" she purred, then stood beside the tortoiseshell. "Okay, so to start it off, you want to get used to the water lapping at your flank. But I think you've got that, so..." Float screwed her face up in deep thought. "Oh! Then you start moving your legs, like you're running on land!" She had heard that somewhere, but had never actually tried it. Tentatively, she began to move her legs.

Slowly she moved into deeper water, trying to pretend she was running. Aeri found it helped to balance herself with her tail, or at least kept her from going under. Soon, she found that it was easy to slide through the water, that it felt natural.

    Floatingkit nodded. "Yes, like that!" she purred, beginning to swim stronger toward Aerialkit. She felt the muscles beginning to toughen, tire out. She should practice more. That way, she would be able to swim more strongly.

Taking a deep breath, she dove, opening emerald optics in the clear blue water. It felt great, the water rippling through her fur. Excited, she began to follow a small fishdownstream.

    Giggling, Float turned to look behind her. Fear suddenly clouded her mind. Where had Aerialkit gone? Green eyes frantically turned to the shore, not seeing the tortoiseshell. What if... she was drowning? Paddling as fast as she could, she tried to find the kit.

    A sigh of relief exited Floatingkit, then when Aeri called her, she swam to the shore. She pulled herself out and looked at what the other kit had found. "Wow, that is really pretty!"
