    "i really don't know what to do," luke murmured, not wanting her to cry, but at the same time he didn't want to fill her with this false hope about what could happen. "i can't just run away with you, i still have to pay off all the money from my mother's treatments." that was mostly why he wouldn't admit he was sick, he didn't want to put stress upon his family to pay back the debt.

"we could've gone earlier when you were locked in a cage underneath thirty horny men who would be willing to take you and then kill you in any moment. how am i even supposed to get you off of the ship?" he was just thinking out loud to her, but the thoughts still made him shake his head. he quietly looked at rowena for a moment before his gaze traveled back down to their linked hands.

    "i'll just lock myself in another cage," luke spoke softly, looking at rowena for a moment to see if that was okay or not. he would cover his ears in there anyway, but he was already assuming that he would lose his hearing halfway through, due to how today's events were impacting his health more. it was horrible that he refused to get help, but he had to do what he had to do.

I would come back for him but only when I knew he wasn't in danger anymore. Before he had walked into the cage, I leaned forward and kissed his cheek, my hand gently holding his.     "please just come back?" luke asked, looking her over for a moment. "promise me you'll come back, or else i'm coming with you." he said seriously, looking at her very closely. he noticed her backing away from him slightly, but he didn't think anything of it, figuring that she was just embarrassed and that it was a little awkward for her. frankly, he felt the same way.

I locked him into the cage and walked onto the deck, noticing that most of them were too drunk to notice my presence. I jumped off of the ship, sighing as the cold water hit my skin and my mermaid tail returned, replacing my human legs. I swam a few feet away from the ship and closed my eyes, exhaling. I called on a few sea creatures to help me drown the sailors like shark and a few octopuses. I began to sing in my native tongue, the wind picking up speed and the clouds darkening. My voice boomed amongst the sea and the waves began to pick up substantially. One sailor watched me as I sang, already under my spell. Then, he fell over and the shark attacked him. I looked up, my eyes full of hatred as the men flung themselves from the ship one by one.[/fancypost][align=center]

    luke rested back against the cage, gently rubbing his face for a moment. he felt the waves hit a little harder than they had before against the ship, which caused him to sigh softly. he looked down at the floor, thinking about this whole day for a moment. he wasn't sure what to even think, knowing him he had probably just drank too much and imagined all of this. it wouldn't have been the first time, honestly.

I snarled as he approached the railing of the ship, looking down with a lifeless look in his eye. I threw my head back, screaming. The thunder boomed as lightning hit the shore far off on the horizon. I snarled and glared at Blackbeard. He flung himself off of the ship and I swam to him, wanting to drown him myself. I pushed him down until his back hit the bottom of the ocean. His eyes became full of life again as he realized what was happening and I screamed, hitting his head on a rock. He began to bleed and I released him, letting him slowly die on the ocean floor. I swam back to the surface and sighed, closing my eyes as the seas calmed once more.     luke felt the boat slow down again, a small sigh of relief coming from him. he quietly looked at the opening of the dungeon, wondering when she would be coming down to get him again. he rubbed the back of his head, feeling the loose curls for a moment. he couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he would finally be able to help his mom, and may be even able to help himself.

I ran down the stairs and walked over to him, unlocking the door and smiling at him. I launched at him, hugging him tightly, my arms around his neck.     luke watched her run her, springing up to his feet. he tensed a little when she hugged him, trying to maintain his balance, but he soon hugged her back, taking her hugging him as a very good sign. "everybody gone?" he asked softly, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. he didn't care that she was soaking wet, or the fact that he was going against everything he had been taught, in a way.

I murmured and exhaled, pulling away from the hug and looking deeply into his eyes. I knew of his sickness. I knew that if he wasn't cured, he'd surely die. I frowned a little and looked down at my hands. I could heal him. But, it might kill me. I'm not as strong as my father. Hopefully, my father would pay off his debt and heal him. He deserved it.     "what's upsetting you?" luke asked softly, watching her with the slightest hint of concern in his eyes. he noticed her looking down at her hands, and shook his head. "i'm not hurt, you don't need to heal me again." he refused to believe that he was sick, because if he admitted that then he believed the sickness would consume him and practically take over his life. he couldn't let that happen, so instead he just remained naive.

    "are you mad?" luke asked questioningly, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion at her statements. he had told himself so many times that he wasn't sick, he began believing it to be turn, that it was just affects of the sea. "i'm not dying, rowena. i'm not even sick." he looked at her for a moment before he glanced away, wondering why they were still on the ship.

    lule was about to protest, telling her that she was just being ridiculous, but he stopped before he started, looking down at the calm ocean water. "i can't swim, if you couldn't tell from earlier." he glanced over at her, still holding onto her hand. it felt good, to finally have someone. his mother wasn't normal and never would be, and really that's all he had left. now that had changed, though, since rowena was suddenly a part of his life.
