  • PLOT:
Karmin is reclusive girl who likes to take long walks in the middle of the night. Usually she does this after having a nightmare. The only thing that can calm her after one of her nightmares is to run. Her favourite dreams are just of her running through the woods, the plants whizzing by, racing the deer.
Little does she know that her dreams might become reality very soon.
She has just started university (college if you'd prefer), and is living on her own off campus.
Little does she know that a number of classes have a pack of werewolves in it. Not all of them, and not all in the same courses, but here and there. She's bumped into them a few times, running late for class, but never gotten to know them. And definitely not the real them.
But their Alpha has noticed her. Specifically her scent walking dangerously close to the border of their territory and another pack's in the urban jungle of the university town. He watches her closely as she goes out for these midnight walks of her's, posing as a feral dog to avoid any suspiciousness.
When the rival pack suddenly attacks her, thinking she is part of his pack because of his strong scent around her, he must save her life the only way he knows how to.

IC - Karmin woke up with a fright again that night. Damn, she thought. Another nightmare. But this one was worse than the others. It had all begun with the snapping of teeth in her face, but slowly the dream had lengthened and she had begun to have worse and worse terrors thrust on her. Now there was even flesh and muscle torn from bones as she laid writhing in agony and fear in her nightmare.
Pushing herself up to stand beside her bed, she pulled on some pyjama pants and a jacket went over her tee-shirt. A walk was the only cure for this. She was happy she didn't live in a colder climate, especially as December came to a start. No snow in this warm part of the country. It made it bearable to continue this seemingly childish habit as she got older. But it didn't help her sleep, especially when she needed as much as she could get before class in the morning.
Silly girl, she had signed up for the morning course at 8 am sharp. At least she wasn't late every time, unlike some others. Specifically those guys that sat outside the class, and only ever came in if they were really bored.
Stepping outside, she headed down the quiet neighbourhood street, heading towards the park and the small forested area beside it. It was a route that she had taken so many times that there was a slight path already worn in the undergrowth.

  • OOC- LOLOLOLOLO ROFL perfect picture! Long time no RP friend :) just jump right in.

  • Reno was in wolf form at the moment since he didn't want to walk around this area as a human. Yeah his scent was more obvious as a wolf but he didn't care. He nearly stumbled in front of a girl as she walked along a small path but luckily he didn't.

OOC: Good to see you too!

  • Karmin didn't hear the light padding of the wolf, even if he did stumble. She just kept walking the path, taking deep breaths as she calmed herself.
"It's just a nightmare," she kept reminding herself. "Don't get so jumpy about nothing." She sighed, looking up at the moon which was full. A coincidence as she thought about the canine jaws that snapped and tore at her, and the reminder sent another chill down her spine. She continued to walk into the forest, until she decided to turn back.

  • Reno sniffed the air and decided to trail her. This girl was heading too close to another pack's territory and he wanted to stop any miscommunications of her being a late night snack or something. Reno actually didn't know much about the other packs since he usually just kept his own group in line.

  • Karmin looked around suddenly as she heard a faint howl in the distance. That was enough to send her running back down the trail home. She didn't need any trouble tonight. In fact, she nearly tripped over Reno unknowingly, but jumped over, thinking his dark fur was a log.
Getting back into her home, she locked the door tightly.

  • Reno then quickly left the area himself. He didn't switch back to his human form till he was safe in his backyard. It happened to be about three blocks from Karmin's house but he didn't seem to notice. He then spent quite a while in the shower to wash off loose grass from his run and to pick burrs and ticks out of his hair. He loved being a wolf but sometimes it made personal hygiene a problem.

  • the next morning, there was no doubt that Karmin was late for class. She had her laptop still out of the case, papers loosely dangiling from the binder under her arm. "Drat!" she muttered, trying to grab everything together even as she hurried down the sidewalk. She knew that she would be missing some important information.

  • Reno was walking to school as well since he really didn't like the bus. He had basically fallen asleep on his couch for about two hours before getting up to throw on a shirt, jeans, jacket, socks, and shoes before heading out the door. He kept all his school things at school in his locker since he spent a lot of his free-time in the woods near his house. He didn't have parents but the school didn't need to know that.

  • Karmin blindly bumped into Reno, sending papers flying as she fell backwards in a heap on the ground.
"No, no, no!" she muttered anxiously. "Darn it! I'm so, so sorry!" she tried to apologize as she reached for her loose papers.

  • Reno stumbled about a half step before regaining his balance, "I wasn't looking." He said blandly and went to help her gather her papers. He mainly grabbed the papers that scattered into the air as if they were trying to fly away.

  • "Oh!" she fretted. She felt stupid for having slept in so long. She was just so tired from the night before. Shoving the papers into the binder, she quickly appoligized again before dashing off to the school
However, when she got to the class room, she found herself locked out. She groaned. She had know the teacher was going to start doing this. Now she would have to resort to sitting outside and watching the lecture through the door window, with those late students she knew of that always sat outside of the room.

  • Reno went to his class and sat down. The teacher he had didn't lock the door since the classroom was filled with students who weren't always on time. It made coming to school a bit easier.

  • Karmin had to wait the whole time, taking what few notes she could through the door window as the teacher continued on. At the end she had to grab an acquiantaince she had met during first week to get a copy of the notes for later. Then she quickly went off to her next class, on time thankfully.
Getting into the still empty room, she sat down at the back and started to prepare her laptop. She didn't usually sit there because of the late people, but some sort of recognition anout the guy this morning pushed her to sit there.

  • Reno was in her next class and sitting towards the back of the class. He didn't seem to notice her yet, but he didn't look overly bored either. It was some sort of neutral calm that he kept up since it was easier to deal with things calmly. If only others of his kind shared this thought of his, it'd make things so much easier.

  • Karmin looked over at him in particular, even as other kids started to slowly trickle into the room. They still had a few minutes to wait, so Karmin hesitantly made her way over to him.
"H-hi," she said, announcing herself. She had a feeling he would blow her off, just by his uninterested demeanor. "Um, I bumped into you this morning right? I just wanted to apologize again.

  • "Morning." Reno said, "and you don't need to apologize, it was my fault." He said, "I should have heard you coming." He pointed out and took a second to look over.

  • Karmin was a little dumbfounded. "O- Oh?" she said. She had honestly been expexting no answer, let alone him taking the blame. She bit her lip for an awkward second, before replying. "My name is Karmin. I suppose you were walking down my street because you live close by too?"

  • "My names, Reno." He said, "and apparently I do live a few blocks away from you." He said, "I don't suppose you like taking midnight strolls, too?" He asked in slight hopes of sparking a conversation with her. He did in fact take midnight strolls... Just not the kind she would be expecting.
