    The prince smiled, gently settling his hand on the woman's waist and watzing quietly with her.

    Eve closed her eyes, smiling. That was the last bit of peace and quiet she could remember having before she opened her eyes. She sat up in bed, next to her husband of five years now. Together, they had a set of twins, a toddler, and one on the way. The twins were boys, their toddler also a boy, and the expecantee was to be a girl



    Jason was holding her close as they slept, breathing out. The toddler was beginning to fuss.

    Eve quietly slipped out if his grasp before pullingin her silk robe and making her way to the room down the corridor. She began tohuhim a lullaby as soon as she entered. She knew the thunder had woken the child. She lit a candle near the baby's bed before oickig him up. "There there, Victor." She smiled softly at her crying son.



    Victor hid in her, sobbing quietly, "Mummy..." He whimpered. Jasons hifted, opening his eyes and looking towards the door. He slowly got up and followed her, "What's going on?"

    Victor nodded, trembling as thunder boomed again. He held tighter.

    Jason shook his hea,d walking with them, "I don't mind at all. If Victor's frightened, he can stay with us." He gently ruffled the curled locks, smiling at the little boy gave a scared smile.

    Eve crawled back into bed, clutching Victor to her chest. She made sure he was comfortable right next to her beforeshe began to doze off again. Before she was fully asleep, lightning struck and shattered a stained glass window near their bed. Eve immediately sheltered Victor as glass went flying. She gasped in pain as several shards dug into her back. Her forearm was comoletley impaled.

    Jason held them close, throwing himself over his wife and child to shelter them the best he could, "Call the court physicican, now!" He shouted, waking the staff.

    Victor was crying, holding tightly and shaking his head. He wasn't hury, just terrified< "Here, Victor, come here!" Jason took his son and held him close, staring at Becka, "You get looked at, love." He he whispered, holding Victor tight as he cried.
