Alright, Ryan was officially a little spooked now: he had recently been contacted by a ghost of some ancient civilization that once lived here. The Eagles or Vultures or something like that... the ghost had told him of certain totems that Ryan felt his Clan needed to be aware of. They had the right to know, after all. "EclipseClan, gather to learn about the totems!" The fox barked out loudly from his perch within the main cabin. He wasn't sure how interested they all were in the aspect of having an animal guardian, but Ryan really didn't care about that: he was more stubborn about them listening in on the bit about the vision totems. Once a decent group had gathered, the fox inhaled a shaky breath before speaking in the most unwavering voice he could manage.

"First off, there are going to be three divisions of totems: Animal Guardian Totems, Validation Totems, and Vision Totems. Animal Guardian totems are a right for anyone to have, Validation totems are awarded by the Chief, and Vision totems... let's make it simple and say that you have to find them." Ryan paused, running his salmon tongue over his maw before speaking once more. "Animal Guardian totems will have a ceremony involved with them, and the spirit guardian you receive will be hugely based off of your personality. You will receive a small, wooden version of your spirit guardian when assigned one at the totem ceremony. Spirit guardians are from that point on your bud for life: they aren't going anywhere. Unless your temperament drastically changes, your guardian will adapt as you do." Hopefully he had explained that clearly enough.

"Validation totems are awarded by the Chief, and each Validation totem is given for separate reasons. They do not replace your Animal Guardian totem, but instead they work together- even if you will not be able to communicate to your Validation totem as you would your Animal Guardian totem. The Validation totem feeds the Animal Guardian totem, it's more like an... essence then a guiding spirit. Each of the various Validation totems will be included on the guide I've been working on." Ryan paused to tap his paw against the long piece of paper that draped off of his chair, the dark imprint of ink detectable on the side. "I'm unsure of where to put this, though: inside the cabin, or outside? Iunno, gimme your thoughts on that." (In other words, should the totem guide be put in the main board in the OOC board?)

"Vision totems are... new, to say the least. A, uh, spirit communicated to me about them. A spirit from a group that dwelled here a very long time ago. They also had a totem system, but their totem system was different. With their totems, they could see into the future- about their own deaths, the deaths of a friend, or even some lucky event in your future. They didn't always come true, however, if they took the right steps to avoid the less fortunate totem predictions. The spirit agreed that he would be willing to assist in bringing back these totems- the only catch is that there is only a set number of them, all of them scattered throughout the territory. Looking at one will give you sights of the future depending on what the totem was crafted for- Death, Danger, Loss, Guidance, or Fortune. Each is color coded, I've been told, so that'll be included on this handy-dandy scroll. They will only work on EclipseClan land- attempting to take the totem to another group for whatever reason will render it a useless chunk of carved wood." Ryan swallowed heavily, hoping he wouldn't be labeled insane for what he had just said. "Any, uh, any questions?"

  • IC:
Michael had been rather calm during the meeting. Until Ryan brought up the Vision Totems. This wasn't the first time he'd heard about them. A few years back, there had been a rumor going around that a group of eight NCP's had found the Vision totems.......And let's just say the end result wasn't pretty. The totems freaked Michael out a little bit too much.
    OOC:
Shamelessly references Until Dawn ;D and I would say put it outside the cabin.

It sorta went over her head - how could a spirit be a pet? Or guardian? - but at least it was easier to think without the constant hammering headaches spurred on by booze. "Hey, when d'we get these... Uh, spirits?" Lalonde asked, tilting her head. "And, shit, is it like a scavenger hunt to find those special totems?"

Hm, rather interesting. Eel was never big on the whole token thing, but she supposed if it was tradition, it was good to go back to them. She hoped whatever animal reap resented her spirit was something fierce and mighty but not without a sound mind. A bull? A leopard? She wasn't sure...

    IC:
Gavin listened intently, intrigued by the idea of a spirit animal, considering they fact that they were all animals.
"Outside the cabin Ryan." The grimdark said before getting up to leave, the meeting over so it was unnecessary for him to linger.

  • Michael was left feeling very uneasy. Something about those vision totems just didn't sit right with him.....It felt like they were about to make a horrible choice, regardless if the rumors he'd heard were really or not. "Ryan. There's something about those Vision Totems you should probably know..."

Well, the reactions were better than Ryan was expecting, really: so far no accusations of being insane for listening to some weird-ass spirit claiming to posses chunks of carved wood. A slightly relieved smile took it's place on Ryan's maw as most of them spoke their opinion- in the public eye it was, then. The fox gave a small nod and a hum to signify his mind had been made on the subject, opening his maw to speak when Roxy's question reached his ears. The Chief paused, weighing his options before speaking. "Some time this week." Ryan answered vaguely with a smirk. Really, it was a pretty equal balance of Ryan having to steel his nerves for doing such as well as getting off his lazy ass and actually carving the totems to be handed out to everyone. "As for the Vision totems... look for those at your own risk, Roxy. Not everyone can handle seeing how they die, seeing how their friends die, seeing their limb be removed, et cetera. But yes, if you want to see one, you'll have to find it." There was no way Ryan was going to risk keeping them all in one place: that would surely lead to some sort of Hell on earth considering he wasn't sure how everyone would react to seeing such images projected straight into their mind as if it had been a memory all along. Sliding his gaze off of Roxy without waiting for a reply, Ryan's gaze instead settled on Michael as his lips pressed into a thin line. "... Believe me, I know the stories and myths behind them. Just... try not to scare anyone with the stories, alright? We can't really prove if they're true or not." Ryan hadn't considered asking the spirit, and now the spirit had already resigned himself to being the watcher of said totems.

  • Oh good he knew. Michael sighed in relief and gave Ryan a short nod. "Got it. I might discuss it with Gav, other than that I'm not bringing up the rumors." He still didn't feel completely at ease....He didn't like to mess with the supernatural world. This should be one hell of a time...

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; color: COLOR; line-height: 100%; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;]ic; "...Alright," she answered simply after giving it some thought, quietly pouring over Ryan's words. So they would show her the future, then? It sounded as if most of it would be news that would be hard to receive; death, heartbreak, or something even worse, if there even were something more horrible. Roxy didn't know; she knew death and something akin to heartbreak, but she still lived her day-to-day life pretty well. Unless I'm just so screwed-up I don't know how bad it is, she thought with a slight wince.

"Just make sure to have my spirit animal thing, like, super-duper badass," she added on with a wink, hoping to lighten up the mood. "It has to reflect my inner, ice-queen bitch type deal, since I'm, like, a stone cold motherfucker. But it also has to show how caring I am, and good in a fight, too, 'cause, like shit, I've got it all, hehe." [/fancypost]
